No Stars. This is just a readers digest version... First of all let me say be afraid be very afraid.......of purchasing anything from The Home Depot. There aren't enough adjectives to describe the poor customer service in the wake forest store. I ordered a washer/dryer and range. The delivery service was so unacceptable -problem with order and installation and all items were put back on the truck. I immediately went to the store and cancelled my order and wanted my money back. Salesperson acted oh so helpful sure I can credit your account only you have to wait 3 days while the delivery people have to send us some sort of code before they actually can issue the refund. Don't' worry lady I'm on top of this, I'll take care of it. I promise you. THEN when I thought all was taken care of and the following week they tried to redeliver the cancelled stuff. Back to the store again- the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Told salesperson for the second time/on second trip I wanted my money and to call the manager- manager never came, must be in a meeting per the salesperson. Long story short... As of this writing all I have is a salesman who's favorite buzz phrases are PROMISE I'm on top of it, I'll take care of this for you and I'll call you. Weeks later....I have never had no phone call from Home Depot NOR have I been issued a refund/credit. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! The Home Depot is holding my $2200 plus dollars hostage. I think Home Depot has the worst customer service. I was shopping for a washer and dryer and talking with one associate. He quoted me a price for the appliances. I told him that I was waiting for my husband to get there and we would be purchasing the washer and dryer. The associate told me to have him called when my husband gets there. My husband arrived ten minutes later. I went to have the associate paged. A new associate arrived and told me that he would be helping me. The other associate when to lunch. I told him what machine I wanted to purchase and told him the price I was quoted. This associate told me I was crazy. There was no way I was quoted that price. He told me that I was wrong and that I was not told that price. I explained to him that it was indeed the price I was quoted 10 minutes ago. I told him that if he could not do that price then he should go get a manager because I would like to speak with him. I was told that the manager was too busy to come talk to me about appliances and that I could either buy them at the price he told me or not buy them at all. I had enough. I left and called the manager on the phone and told him the situation and he asked me to come back. I told him he was too late and I took myself across the street and went to Lowes. Save yourself a headache and just go to Lowes. They actually care about their customers. read more

Terrible customer service. Bought new dishwasher here and although they advertise they will take the old one away, that only applies if you already have it disconnected and pulled out of the enclosure. They came to install and said they wouldn't un-install the old one. Had to pay someone to come take out the old one, and have HD come back out for the install. Then they said they wouldn't install because the dishwasher is setup on a separate breaker. Once again paid someone to install the new dishwasher. 8 months later, the dishwasher stops working. Since it is still under the warranty, we call to have someone come out to repair. They only schedule appts in 8 hour time slots, so I had to stay home from work all day. The technician calls and asks what is going on with the dishwasher as he may need a part for it, which he doesn't have in his truck. Nice to know after I have taken off all day! Asked him to come take a look at it to determine what was wrong and he never showed up. Call the company phone number and they relay to me that the repair tech said he knocked on door and no one answered. That was a lie, because he never showed up. Do not buy appliances here. read more

My wife and I just bought our first house and I insisted on buying quality American made Maytag appliances from my formerly favorite store. We will never pursue buying Maytag / Whirpool again as they have not even bothered to respond to the email I sent to them last week as 2 of 3 of the appliances are already going down the tubes . We will be leaving as many reviews on as many websites as possible to warn others to beware of the poor quality of their product and poor response to issues . The Home Depot is in wake forest nc. The model number on the dishwasher is mdb7749sbmo the serial number is f30202280 . We paid over $500 for this 2 years ago. Just had to buy a New Bosch unit fir $500. The refrigerator model number is mbe2258xes1 serial number is k12183327. It is costing us $200 to repair . We will be taking all future business to Lowes across the road if we do not get some financial satisfaction or the courtesy of a proper response . We should not need to buy a warranty and did not . I'd be fine getting new appliances every 5-10 years but this is ridiculous . read more

They don't care about their customers. Went in to buy a door and no one was able to assist. Had to come back next day to get assistance. After purchasing the door I had to wait 2 days to buy, it has been a whole week and no one has contacted me about installing it at my house after I paid for the installation. Seriously rediculous. Now I have to get in my car and go back to the same store just to get my door installed that I already paid for a week ago. How convenient. Zero stars. read more

I will never shop at the Home Depot again. I purchased a $250 blind back in March and it is still sitting in the box on my floor. The wrong blind was shipped to us and it is too large and heavy for me to fit in our car. When I called the store they were very unhelpful and didnt believe the wrong blind was sent. A rep did contact my husband initially to get the ball rolling and now it has been 6 weeks since we have had any response. I just want the correct blind or my money back. read more

Home Depot has just about everything I could need for the projects I have to do at home. The only thing it's missing is instructions on how I should do everything without ever bungling it or making it worse. Good prices and helpful staff. Overall though it's always only as good as he person working the area when you need help. read more

I like the people in the paint department. They are friendly and helpful. The staff and cashiers are nice and most of them speak and ask if I need help which I appreciate because I usually do need help. The people at Lowes hardly ever speak; it's like they assume I must be just looking for my husband, lol. read more

Well, the problem with exchanging the gas dryer for an electric one was finally solved after a full month of phone calls and aggravation. I was finally able to email the President/CEO OF HD in Atlanta. His office answered me within hours, and had the gas dryer picked up ASAP. I am awaiting delivery of the electric dryer- which should arrive in 2 days. Thank you Mr. HD President! This simple problem should not have had to reach the CEO--but I am very happy it is done! read more

I have a really big customer care problem and cannot reach anyone in Home Depot Corporate to help resolve it. The store employees (Wake Forest Store) are very knowledgeable and nice, but Home Depot Corporate policy forces them into the same call tree phone system that I am subject to and they cannot reach a higher level person with any decision making authority. The store employees have no support and are only able to write orders and set up delivery dates. I feel bad for them; they are good people. I have been in the store for over 2 hours today while the store manager and the appliance department manager have been on hold with GE, their vendor, and disconnected twice. Home Depot has outsourced all customer care and delivery to GE. I talked to a customer care service representative today who would not give me her name. I paid for a GE refrigerator on March 5 and have had two units delivered damaged - and, I cannot get it off my credit card for three days because that is how long it takes GE to process a return. Home Depot is tolerating this from their vendor! read more

I am a long time customer of Home Depot and have never had an issue. I am also a veteran of the US Navy and have always welcomed the 10% discount given by Home Depot. However, during my latest visit I was told that I do not have the right type of VA card to receive the 10% discount. It is crazy though because my VA card gets me service with the VA, as well as acts as an ID card for official use since it is a government-issued card. Needless to say, I contacted Home Depots customer service department to voice my issues. I was met with a canned response telling me that my concerns will make their way up the chain. The very next day, I get an email from HD asking me to rate my customer service experience. Are you kidding me!!!! Not only did my issue not get resolved, but now you want me to tell you how great you are doing? I would like to think that I am not high maintenance. If HD has changed their policies on military discounts or their policy on what is an acceptable for of ID, I get it. Convey that to me and I will make the necessary changes to comply. But telling me that my ID isn't acceptable and that you are very sorry but their is nothing you can do about it is downright disappointing. The good news is, I have a Lowes directly across the street. I have a MyLowes card that I can swipe and it automatically deducts 10% for my military service. The cashiers always thank me for my service and I do not have to worry about customer service issues from them. Home Depot has lost a customer because of their lack of customer care. read more

The folks in Home Depot have been very helpful! The women in particular smile and look you in the eye. (I can't stand when folks avoid looking at you or seem to be having a very bad day.) They offer help, talk to you while checking out, and show you where items are located. I have even written to their home office to tell them what good experiences I have had shopping there. read more
