Early July 2026, this is the kind place where I could go crazy with the variety of products for home improvements. Just walking up and down the aisles gives you ideas. The sales associates on the floor are only too happy to assist you. Some of them even ask if they can help you before you get a chance to ask. The App is full of information; putting in what you're looking for and it will tell you the aisle and the row that it's in. No running around aimlessly, unless that's your thing. O ordered online and it took forever for the order to arrive. To big deal. Got the msg that the order was ready. Show up to get it and no one was available to bring my order up - and Inwas told that it "it would be a while". I waited close to an hour - unacceptable. Staff couldn't care less. This home depot is by far the best one. Is it because I'm a new resident to newburgh and I'm just jolly about it?, Well... in comparison to the bronx you get little to Zero help and it's very hard to find an employee and it's always packed with super long lines. Here in newburgh was such a breeze, we were in and out in no time!!!!! We came in for cellular shades ( My opinion is that their the best shades for your home)everyone knows home depot is huge, so finally!!! Employees everywhere, they directed us to the blinds section and to my surprise they had employees to immediately help "sharon" such a nice helpful lady who stood with us until the very end, she even cut our blinds to its exact measurements. (Perfect btw) She also helped us pick out window rods. I was very relieved to know that from now on we will be getting help at this location being that we'll be coming back for a couple months to get things for our new home. I would rather not spend my money with large corporations. If at all possible, I'd prefer to support a local plumbing supply shop, a hardware store, a lighting store, a furniture store, a stone...monger (?), etc. Unfortunately, Home Depot is much more of a one-stop shop, and IN THEORY, it's much easier to get just about everything you'd need for a renovation from the one place, because being able to pick everything out with a combination of store visits and dealing with their website is fantastic. In practice however, I've found that the disconnect between the website and the actual stores are infuriating and will necessarily lead to frustration. The people in the store will pretend like the website has nothing to do with them, as if you care which arm of the Home Depot corporation is wasting your time and creating issues that will cost you money. (What the hell is a "store exclusive"? I ordered from your website because if you don't have something in the store, another store will ship it here so I can pick everything up at once. That's the benefit of shopping with you. "Ship to store." It's also particularly galling that while you're in the middle of telling me why I wasn't getting the item I wanted, you put me on hold where an automated voice immediately told me about the wonders of "ship to store.") My specific troubles aside, this particular store has a decent selection, and mostly good people working here. Jack in plumbing is my dude...very helpful. I'm not handy, and if you're not handy, the folks here will try and help you out. Especially if you have money. You can order things for other people to pick up and install for you. That costs money. You can also have someone come out and look at your windows and tell you what a pain in the ass that's going to be, and how expensive it's going to be, and then pay them to install them too. That costs a lot of money (and honestly, you should be able to find a local contractor that will probably give you a much better quote). Ugh...the help here is completely clueless and not at all helpful. I am not a skilled repair person by any stretch, but when you approach a sales person on the floor and say to them where are your drain auger or drain snakes or any pipe like tool to clear a clogged drain, and the employee shows you a picture of a faucet and says "do you need this or the whole faucet?", you know you are better off not asking for help at all. What irked me about the whole situation was more that he falsely guided me all over the store, with toddler daughter in tow, to areas he 'thought' contained my item of request, instead of simply calling someone else or a supervisor for help. This was highly unprofessional. I have unfortunately experienced this very often at this location, and prefer other Home Depot locations (like Poughkeepsie or Fishkill) instead of this one. I have to cut this short because of Yelp's character count limits. But the summary is that this place rented me a tool that didn't work, and then blamed + charged me $433 for it. I needed to bury about a mile of invisible fence cable and I didn't want to do it by hand. When I found the Ez Trench Cable Installer (https://www.homedepot.com/p/rental/E-Z-Trench-Cable-Installer-TP400CL3/309005167) and saw that it was at a Home Depot 45 minutes away, I thought my prayers had been answered. 2 days on my hands and knees-trenching cable and $433 later, I'd advise anyone to A.) avoid this tool if you live anywhere that has any rocks in the soil, and B.) avoid the Tool Rental department at the Wappingers Falls, NY Home Depot as they really don't seem to care about working people. So the details... I picked this thing up on a Wednesday because I happened to be near this particular Home Depot which is rare) even though I wasn't going to be able to test it until the weekend. This HD was the only one that had this tool in stock and it's kind of far for me, but if the tool was going to do the job it was meant to do, then it was worth the time and the extra money to me. As I'm leaving, one of the employees in the rental center says 'Look... we get lots of complaints about this thing... it's not really meant for the kind of soil we have around here.' So I say, 'Well, I'll give it a shot I guess... I can't lay a mile of cable by hand and I'm patient.' I watched every video I could find and read the manual. I fire the tool up on Friday night first chance I get. The engine turns over and the blade spins when I squeeze the throttle. Great. I get the cable delivered on Saturday, throw it on the tool, try to get it to lay the cable, and man...no matter what I do, the cable won't lay in the dirt... the machine pulls the cable up and out of the trench + dirt to the point that it's nearly worthless. If it hits a stone, it veers off course and/or shuts down. If you live in the northeast, this isn't the tool for the job... why this Home Depot even rents it out to people feels like a scam. I tried it a few times in multiple places on the property. It's officially way more trouble than it's worth. I'm wildly frustrated at this point. My quick trenching job turned into me spending the weekend on my hands and knees hand-trenching half a mile of cable late into the night on Sunday. But at least, I thought, the guys at the rental area would understand that this tool sucks. I wake up at 6am on Monday before work (4 days and change after initially picking it up), and load this monster into the SUV, drive it the 45 mins back over to the Home Depot a few days early (I stated that I'd need it for 4 days, and if you rent something for 4 days, you get 3 free), and as I'm walking it into the rental area, an employee is walking in at the same time and he says 'How'd that work for ya?' I tell him that the machine wasn't able to lay one single inch of cable. 'Oh... I just had a guy who had it for 2 days... he didn't have any complaints.' Good for him. I tell him that I wish I didn't have complaints as this thing ruined my job and my weekend. He says that he's not authorized to give me a discount on the rental, so I ask who is. He says 'Let me call the manager.' Manager John gets on the phone, hears that I've had the tool for 4+ days, and says 'He didn't call us to complain before today, so charge him for the full week.' I tell the tool rental guy that's unacceptable and it's just not decent. He tells me to go across the store to Customer Service to complain... 'transaction complete' in his eyes, I guess. I tell him that's also unacceptable and that he call the manager back so I can speak with him as I'm right here next to the tool we need to assess. Mind you, nobody has inspected the tool... nobody turned it on... no cursory overview. Just a dismissal of my claim and a prompt to go waste some time in another part of the store to discuss this with someone who has absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. So he begrudgingly calls Manager John back... the manager is coming over to talk to me. I stand there and wait for probably 15-20 minutes for Manager John to grace me with his presence, but I wasn't counting. Stewing, but not counting. When the finally manager shows up, he tells me that I've had the tool for too long for him to do anything for me. That I should have called. That if I had called before today, then maybe he could have done something for me. I recount my schedule, tell him that calling him wasn't in the paperwork, that the job I had was bigger than my schedule allowed for as this tool didn't work. I asked that someone simply show me the tool working. He says he won't and can't and that I owed them $433. It's not right... it's not how you treat people. If you mean to work with people that shoot straight, that take care of their customers, and are capable of demonstrating what they're renting, then avoid this Home Depot. read more

Went in here to get a new fan, customer service lady at desk where self checkout is was very rude, was trying to pay with debit as credit and didn't know what button to press so I asked for help and the lady goes your still here and I find that very rude, work on your customer service also made assumptions that we weren't paying. read more

A few years back had a contractor that was on a call list from Home Depot to install an item in my place. I had to keep calling him back to do the job right but we caught on what he was trying to do we even had to call the manager in charge to get him to come back the second time. He was waiting for the contract to expired so he could get paid again, but this time out of our own wallets because Home Depot was paying him from the start. read more

Zero stars. Sold me a Maytag top loader told me i had 90 day warranty and says right on my receipt. Machine leaves horrible marks on clothes. I go in right away speak with the sales person Mr. Kennedy tells me he hast to talk to the manager the manager comes to me and tells me I cannot return the machine I have to call Maytag. I called Maytag they tell me it's gonna cost me $250 to come out and look at the machine. This is horrible machine is garbage plus the fact Home Depot when they installed it they review reverse the hot and cold water. Purchased this item on 6/22/21 for a partial bathroom remodel. The email from @homedepot said it would be at our local store on 7/6/21 for us to pick up. We are still waiting for it. I'm fact, it's been sitting at a terminal about 40 mins away from me since 7/2/21. Every day since 7/6 I have been calling to find out what's going on. All I can say is, everyone I've spoken to has a different answer. I've been told that I can pick it up at the terminal as a will call however, no one seems to know the address of the terminal that I need to go to. Every day upon checking the tracking the date of the delivery to my local store changes to the next day. I am beyond frustrated, I can't find this vanity anywhere else, and no one in customer service, central transport or the store can tell me when my product that I've already paid for will finally be delivered. Sure the staff can be difficult to get a hold of and often times seem as though they aren't helpful, but this seems to be an issue across the board at all Home Depots I've visited over the years. Several months ago i placed a large order for hardwood flooring with them and they handled it well with no issues. Smooth process and easy pickup by a contractor when it arrived. I've rented equipment from them (power washer, etc) and find the to be an easy task. They always have plenty of items and I've yet to incur a problem. My 8 month old son and I went in today to get a Christmas tree. I was thinking I'd be able to fit the box standing in a cart but it wasn't working out. A younger employee, who's name I didn't catch, saw me struggling and carried the tree to the checkout counter and then out to my car. I thought he was just going to leave it and go back inside but he stayed and tried to help me get it into my car. It didn't end up fitting but it wasn't for his lack of trying! When nobody called to set up time and date, I went back to pro desk and was told to call 800 number. Got big run around. Call manager of store. Got nowhere. This store lost $5,000 sale and me as a customer. Total job cost would have been in the neighborhood of $10,000. I will now take my business to Lowes. read more

We then had two staff roll their eyes at us in the garden center and huff loudly about us walking through 15 minutes before closing. I understand that stores want to close on time but we were just looking for a few minutes with the intention of buying 4 flower plants for our front porch. 10 minutes to close we were kicked out of the garden center so couldn't finish our purchase and had to leave the flowers. Terrible experience, will not be returning! Came in to buy a grill, took forever to find someone to ask a question. When I finally did, he gave me wrong information - that they did not sell a certain grill I was looking for, when they did - it was outside (as I later found out). Finally decided on a grill and checked out and WAITED AN ENTIRE HOUR for someone to bring it out to us. First, they wanted to give us a built grill when we expecting a boxed one to fit in our vehicle. They sent be back and forth to multiple people to try to sort it out - no one was able to help, or much cared to. When I did get someone to help, they got distracted with other customers. It was by far the worst customer service possible!! I ended up returning the grill before it even got brought out because waiting over an hour to get someone to bring out the purchased product was just not worth it to me! Never again, Home Depot! Hate to say it, but this is exactly why Amazon is doing so well. The pain and hassle of the in-store experience is just not worth it. read more

As I appreciate the opportunity to exchange an damaged item, I don't understand the need to take a customer's driver's license information to do so. This only adds to the chances of identity theft. They said it was because of the item was purchased by story credit. (I obviously had to return another bad product at the time I purchased this one.) This is a $12 item that I exchanged. It probably has more to do with the paranoia of the retail business, that everyone is a potential thief. I wound up getting transferred BACK to the kitchen and bath department, and I had had enough. I went there in person so they couldn't ignore me and keep putting me on hold. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON in this store. I wound up never getting a straight answer, and a whole lot of attitude. I'll definitely avoid this Home Depot in the future. read more
