I would like to give a big shout out to Tom in lumber for providing exceptional customer service. I went to HD to buy some additional fence pickets. I had bought some 3 days earlier, when I noticed that the ones I had previously purchased were now priced lower than what I had previously paid. I spoke to Paula in Returns , but she indicated that I had to return them to get a price adjustment. Unfortunately, I had already nailed them on my fence. That's , when Tom came to the rescue. He helped me with selecting new boards & finding other items I needed. He then walked me to Returns & spoke to Paula about getting a price adjustment on the previous pickets. Paula was also very helpful. She initially was a lil confused on why I wanted a price adjustment, until Tom explained that the correct price was not there earlier. If all HD employees were as helpful as Tom, maybe some of these reviews wouldn't be as bad. He was patient, kind & very helpful. read more

I used to love coming to this Home Depot because the indoor plant selection was always impressive, and they regularly restocked with new varieties. Lately, though, it seems like the selection has become repetitive, and I haven't seen many new plants for quite some time. I'd really love to see more variety, especially when it comes to anthuriums and other uncommon houseplants. As it is now, it feels like a waste of time to make the trip only to find the same selection every visit. I've noticed that the Home Depot in Houston Central consistently has a much better variety of anthuriums and other indoor plants. I hope the Bay Area location can improve its inventory and bring back the diverse plant selection it used to have. read more

50% of the time I have a non-eventful experience at this store and the other half is a complete hassle. The store items are easy to find, returns are easy, and they have great sales. However, you have to be careful when items are rung up. A lot of the time they will NOT ring up for the price listed. Sales are worst. Then, when they won't ring up at the price as marked, the actual store employee asks YOU to go take a photo of the SKU and bring the photo back to them. Which they will then price change for you. So, basically if you shop here, make sure you take a photo of every single SKU for each product you are purchasing and when you are checking out make sure you watch each price. Order a set of sliding closet doors. Received text that they were damaged in transit and they would return to warehouse and then redelivered. Door never came, Called customer service because online it shows delivered. They informed me that if a product is damage that they never reship. I had to request a refund and then repurchase if I still wanted product. WHAT ??? Refund is not automatic if you do not plan to reship? Why would I purchase from Home Depot again. It's not happening. Today, Home Depot customer service offered to fix the improperly installed door by having their contractor (RF Installations) cover the growing crack with putty. They also offered me $800 for dealing with their dishonest and indifferent employees. However, they are apparently refusing to honor the clause in the contract in which Home Depot is responsible for damage to the door during installation. Putty does not fix the fact the door swings open if you don't use the deadbolt. The hinges are not lined up correctly. They suggested putty because the growing cracks would not even be visible any more with putty and paint. I kid you not. read more

Garden Center review: Beautiful selection; plants look lush and well taken care of. Prices are also fair. However, not all the workers in this area are trained on plants or plant care. Someone must know since the plants are taken care of. The two employees I asked for assistance - they didn't even refer me to another person, so I assumed no one had information during the shift I showed up to. To be fair, I was running low on patience after asking two people with little information and apathetic demeanors. Sorry to bother you guys and hope the job offers a little more joy soon so that you can better serve customers (e.g., Home Depot management may benefit from finding more ways to retain staff and provide them with more knowledge). HORRIBLE SERVICE at HOME INTERIORS!!! I had an appointment with an Interior Design Consultant by the name of Garry Ashcraft today. He NEVER SHOWED UP for the appointment, neither did he send me a message to let me know that he was running late. I told the the Sales Manager Michael Mariboho that I wanted to file a complaint and he refused to provide Garry's full name. The email that I received from Home Depot to confirm the appointment stated that the design consultant would present his business card upon entry. I think the Sales Manager was trying to cover up for Garry. Home Depot is SO UNPROFESSIONAL! I have been shopping there for years and it is always the same story. They are extremely disorganized and the staff is rude and unprofessional. DON'T HIRE THEM!!! In the end, I'm so glad that this happened because I would have probably signed a contract today. Large store in a busy shopping area has everything you would expect. I went in for a replacement part and a helpful associate who was restocking was quick to direct me to the correct aisle and bay very politely. Good stock on the part as well. The checkout line (COVID affected) seemed inefficient with one long queue and a person directing. I would have preferred the old fashioned jump in a line approach (maybe it was because I was lugging something heavy). Checkout went quickly with a gift card and credit card and I was on my way. The checkout was also way on the right side of the store (if inside the store facing the parking lot) which made for a longer walk than seemed necessary. I'm splitting hairs here. Online it seemed as if Home Depot universally recycled CFL fluorescent light tubes but I asked at customer service and she politely told me they didn't. I have a few collecting dust in the garage I'm looking to get rid of without going to an inconvenient city center. Access to the store is a bit tricky as it's the NE corner of I-45 and El Dorado. Coming from south (heading north on I-45), you go through a long stoplight or turn right and left into the lot. Nice street behind the store can provide easy access as well. Three stars is my default "this place is fine", nothing outstanding to bump up, nothing deficient to bump down. read more

I like Home Depot's selection and prices for the most part but sometimes the customer setup is majorly lacking. If you go in at the garden center there are no signs posted when the doors will close and it needs them. It can still be bright and sunny and they are closed. The hours to have staff out there should align with the summer months. When you are ready to check out you have to go all the way to the opposite end of the store now which is ridiculous. The new set up of all check stands on the far end of the store stinks. Also, it's almost all self checkout now. I'm starting to think we should get a discount for feeling like we are working for the company when using these self checkouts replacing the worker who used to help us, say hello and thank you as we left. When you can find staff members they are always super nice so this is not negative towards them but towards the overall feel of less workers which is less customer service provided. Also, many plants are in need of watering and care. Someone should be put in place to water or rotate when needed daily. This store can pride itself on "Consistency" from the original store opening to today Good customer service is nil to none. Trying to get assistance is impossible. Today I was in search of a specific type of lightbulb. Entered the store saw a Home Depot associate ' asked where bulbs were located. The associate (White male, salt & pepper facial hair) told me Aisle 1. Did locate the bulb area but unable to find the specific lightbulb. After searching a bit I saw the same associate & "TRIED" to ask for assistance. He informed me he was busy helping someone else & dismissed me by saying IF I have time I'll send someone to help you. Not sure if that meant "stick around & you'll find out IF I had time to send you assistance or go away because I can't be bothered". I finally located Angelica who works in the customer service area. She was kind enough to assist me. At my request passed my negative experience onto management. Management did respond & was very courteous. Literally any time I curbside order something, after ten minutes of waiting I have to go in and stand in a 20 minute line in order to flag someone down to give me my order. The Friendswood/Pearland Home Depot is more customer service friendly. They seem to be the better store to buy from. I'll be purchasing from them from now on. If not them, Lowe's one exit down from Home Depot in EL Dorado seems to have faster customer service and curbside delivery. read more

My high hopes just came crashing down. After trying to save money by using cheap labor for home remodel I decided to give The Home Depot a try since I always see there kitchen remodel center and such. Jayleen, who is a The Home Depot associate is great! She made me excited and tried to save me money. I mean everything was great. I had my cabinets picked out, my counter tops picked out, the back splash picked out and even the accessories like the kitchen sink. The problem began when the delivery of the cabinets were not delivered at the time promised. So, how does this that big of a problem, you may ask. It's a problem if you are the only person your household and cannot take time off from your job. I was able to take time off, but I had to work around it. I had to conform to The Home Depot timeline, which is Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, not weekends. Those are my work hours and I have to work to pay for the remodel. So everything is on hold until I am able to take more time off the have the cabinets delivery rescheduled and then coordinate the counter tops, ceramic back splash, installation. So in short. If you happen to live alone for whatever reason, and have only yourself to run your household then The Home Depot is not for you, concerning having installations done by The Home Depot. For about 12 cabinets kitchen remodel from The Home Depot is going to cost me about 14K, and I have to coordinate the work cause they don't work on weekend or after 5 p.m. I hope this helps you with your decision. read more

All the Citrus trees are 75% off. We bought one that was $12 and with the sale it rang up at $3. That is really good!!! I'm happy!! So that being said we bought 4 Meyer Lemon trees. Also, purchased 4 crotons in which my mum loves. The crotons are $4 a piece, they are on sale too. Also, this week a sale for Bonnie's vegetable plants for 3 for $10. The staff was friendly and the self-check out was fairly easy to use as the lady over that area helped ring up our plants and a long stick lighter. Do not use these guys for a kitchen remodel. I met with one of their so called "seasoned" kitchen designers and began the process. The first thing they did was to send someone to my house to measure, after that I went back to working with the designer, she did everything in a CAD program so the kitchen looked good on the paper. Everything I picked out was "on sale" but would end at midnight that night so everything needed to be right away or I would have to pay 25% more. She designed the kitchen with the software, emailed me a copy and I docu signed it on the computer, then called her with payment. Remember everything had to be done by close of business or I would have to pay a lot more. Three weeks later my cabinets arrived and they called and said it would be at least 2 weeks before they could be installed, when I told them I would hire someone else magically they had a cancellation and it could be done the next day. The cabinets that they installed are 12 inch cabinets and they took out 24 inch cabinets, 3 of the cabinets are totally useless because they have less that a 6 inch opening. If you could get anything in the opening there's room in the cabinet just no way of getting it through the cabinet door. I have less than half of the previous storage space. Then we get to the countertops. I ordered granite countertops with a 5 inch backsplash and they didn't install a backsplash at all. I called their corporate office and they finally sent someone over and installed one. The guys that brought all my new appliances simply put them in the garage and left. How was I supposed to get them in and installed. There's tons more discrepancies but I tried to work with their corporate office but they have washed their hands I guess, they just stopped responding so I have forgotten some of them. It all cost me over $20k and I have a tiny kitchen. Way too expensive and way too inept. Do yourself a favor and go with a local business, keep the money in the community and get something you can use. read more

I hope I never have to shop at a Home Depot again. Today I was compiling and order on my phone app but decided to go to my computer and when I did I changed 1 item. I never submitted the order on the app. When I did submit the computer order, i checked my bank account and found Home Depot had taken money out of my account for BOTH ORDERS! These are items for my disabled son who lives 6 hours away so I can't just go to his home and retrieve the items for return. I immediately tried to cancel the wrong order but they can't! I have to wait till I get a tracking number via email and call it it AND wait nearly a week to get my $50+ dollars back! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Several years ago and inside job took $800+ out of my checking account as the purchases were made at a Home Depot in Maine. I have the sales tickets to prove it. One word: DISHONEST. read more

I didn't know that in order to shop at Home Depot in Clear lake I now have to be an employee that doesn't get paid. So I have to climb the ladder myself to get something off the top shelf because there's no one around to get it for me and then when I get to the front I have to unload and reload my basket , scan my own items and carry it out myself because it's self checkout only! Ie, they no longer have cashiers unless you're carrying cash in your pocket. So I spend $800 I'm supposed to bring cash if I want help in this store! Okay, okay, I come to Home Depot a lot it seems, but it's really for one reason, and one reason, only. I buy mixing tubs to use as litter boxes as I have fat cats and I'm cheap. I can buy these for only $6 a piece and give my kitties lots of room to do their business in, and get new ones every few months. Although, they do clean out really nicely with detergent and bleach. The people are usually pretty nice, but unfortunately, these tubs are on a top shelf, and sometimes trying to find someone to help you get a couple down is a chore. If there's a ladder nearby, I just do it myself....they're not heavy and I really don't have all day to wait. So, if you need extra large little boxes for any extra large cats, come here! I think they have lumber and paint and other stuff, too! The people wear orange aprons as well, but you won't see too many of those, especially if you really need one...just try and be self sufficient and you will be fine! read more

This Home Depot location is OK, but I like the Lowes down the road better. Item selection is merely adequate and when they run out of an item it seems to take them forever to get more in stock. Prices are on par with other Home Depot locations. The landscaping/nursery area is limited. Its a little difficult to get to in terms of traffic. On the plus side, shelves are well organized. I think they tend to do more contractor business than consumer business. read more

Wanted a bag of fertilizer that was up on pallet Guy whined about getting it said it would take 15 minutes .... He said he would have to get some help. He really seemed this interested in helping me get it. I said I would rather wait for it because that was the specific kind that I wanted and that I needed..... Needless to say 20 minutes of standing around looking like an idiot and he never did come back. So I gave up and left. As I was leaving the parking lot I saw him unloading a truck. If you're going to buy blonds from here, make sure you pick them out, cut them, and install them yourself. I have been trying for a MONTH to get blinds put in my house. I had to get measurements from one store, then buy from another, have them cut at another, and installed at the original store due to some "clause" in the contracts. I have an event happening at my home this Saturday and guess what? STILL no blinds. I've already paid for the blinds are they're sitting in my garage. Yes, I could install them myself, but I've already paid the installation fee. They're quick to take your money but molasses slow to get things done. Beyond disappointed. read more
