I live in the city, but I usually wait until I'm in the county running errands to stop at this Home Depot location. They actually have someone greeting you at the door, which I don't typically see at the Cheltenham location. I really appreciated that. The young lady who greeted me was very helpful and directed me exactly where I needed to go. I don't have time to wander around Home Depot looking for items, so that level of guidance makes a big difference. The associate at the Customer Service counter checked me out quickly. I was in and out. Overall, this location is well-stocked, well-organized, and the staff here are usually pretty friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the extra drive for me. Worst Customer Service I have ever seen. I called to get a price quote on a door installation job was transferred twice and then hung up on. I was going to call back and ask to speak to a manager but if its this much work to just communicate with a employee here I will go elsewhere to get the job done. Eh, I don't normally review too many chains and big box stores. On the one hand, this place has plenty of space and a wide selection of offerings in every department. On the other hand, the only thing more difficult than finding a customer service rep is getting one that seems to care. I get staffing is a issue everywhere so didn't mind the search for an associate. What I did mind is seeing a few associates completely disengaged and unwilling to make an effort. I decided to pass on getting a quote during my visit even after seeing more options I liked here. Glad most locations can get the same lines in stock even if they don't usually carry them. read more

THIS IS THE REAL HOME DEPOT---DISGUSTING!!!! NEVER GOT AN ANSWER, NEVER GOT A RECEIPT!!!! To: Dear August 28 We had your company install a new water heater in our home, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Your Willow Grove store is my go-to for all of my needs. I am there quite regularly, and many of your employees know me. In this case we were referred to 1 800 Heaters in Edison, NJ. My husband spoke to Laura, their representative. She quoted him a price and sent him and invoice. After questioning her that this was the total charge, with no extras, my husband agreed to the installation. A single man, named Ken, 65 years old, as he told us, was sent to install the new hot water heater. He seemed extremely upset and very active (hyper). During the installation he knocked over a container of craft materials that went all over the basement floor. (Small beads) He told me 'I would have blamed it on the dogs, but you were standing right here.' As he was taking the heater down the steps he knocked off the wooden molding on the edge of the steps. When I went to find the piece,it was removed, he must have taken it. He also knocked a picture off of the wall as he went down the steps to the basement. They charged us 1733.50, sending no receipt. I requested one but was ignored. We paid the fee, but still no receipt. When I checked the original invoice I saw we were charged $237. for an expansion unit that WAS NOT USED, but remained on the bill. We were also charged $45.00 for a postal fee. This is what they charged us to send a request for the permit to the Township. The cost of a stamp is currently less than $1.00; why the $45.00 fee? Laura stated that she gave us a $75.00 credit to help us since we are seniors. When you view the invoice and add the numbers, we should have only been charged $1673.50, with the removal of the $237 expansion unit (not installed) and removal of $44.00 for overcharge of the stamp to send the letter for the permit. We are owed $124.00 I went to HD and spoke to manager James, September 1 He said that he would investigate the charges September 5, I returned to HD and spoke with manager Nathan. He called HD customer service, water heater installation, and spoke to a man named Robert. Robert told us that he would review the taped telephone call with his manager. This would show that I was mistaken about costs. When I asked, he REFUSED to allow me to hear the recording I believe that he was making sure that I DID NOT hear its so that HD could fix the parts that said the price was all inclusive. He also stated that I did not pay HD my money. That I paid 1 800 Heaters. This is in error. The bank paid the money to Home Depot. Something is wrong with your company and its employees. I would appreciate returning the $124.00 that was fraudulently taken from me. I STILLL DO NOT HAVE A RECEIPT FOR MY MONEY!!!! I have gone to social media, Google Reviews and Yelp and left a review of your terrible services.I filed a complaint with the PA better Business Bureau. I have also filed a dispute with my bank, Wells Fargo, about your fees. If need be I WILL contact the television stations concerning your service and business behavior. You need to now that 1 80o Heaters has no standing with the Better Business Bureau. 1800heaters is saying they charged extra $80.oo for extra piping. This Home Depot won me over when I needed to get a lot of demential lumber. It seems that the warped, bowed, and cracked ones are taken out often enough, and put into the cull lumber pile. It matters when each piece you need is $20! I am more prone to buy because returns have been relatively quick, and easy for me. Customer service is awake and alert! Stopped in here real quick after eating dinner at Bone Fish Grill to get paper towels, soil, and seeds so I can start planting tomatoes and peppers for the season. I got a parking spot right up front near the door which is great also it wasn't crowded at all so I was able to get in line quickly. I chose the self check-out line and was scanning my items 1 at a time and would u belive the cashier was watching me like a hawk thinking I'm stealing stuff . She was doing everything in her power to look around me as I scanned each item. I didn't appreciate being treated like a criminal. I never had this happen to me ever in my life. I appreciate the workers of Home Depot. They are out there risking their lives to help us. I do need to comment on an issue that I had with this store today. I bought an Echo 58v trimmer last year (5/18/2019). It worked well through the year. I took the trimmer out last weekend and the battery said it needed service. I contacted Echo and they said go to the service center near you. Home Depot Willow Grove was listed as a service center. I took the trimmer and charger/battery in the store. The return desk said go to the rental area to get service. I then took it there. The rental area told me that they do not service electric Echo products. They offered no alternative option for me to get my device repaired/replaced. Usually, Home Depot has been there for me. The return area people were very helpful and apologetic. The rental area manager was not helpful and the manger on staff for the store was not helpful either. Lesson learned for anyone buying products at Home Depot. If it is a cordless device (specifically outdoor equipment), I would suggest an alternative company, like Lowes. Home Depot left me without options and out $250. read more

We were planning on renting a RugDoctor, so we were looking for a Home Depot location with a Tool Rental center and decided on this location, since it's on the way back from work. I learned later on that although the location near us doesn't have a Tool Rental section, it does rent the RugDoctor in particular. In any case, I stopped by this location one day after work to rent the RugDoctor. The guy who helped me out was very helpful and friendly, and he even gave me a good pointer - if your rental end time is after the store has closed, you have until 9am the next morning to return it for the 4-hour rate. That was pretty nice of him to share! Home Depot stores are pretty much all the same other than the staff, and that gentleman definitely made it a five-star experience! read more

A few months ago, I saw mice running all over inside the store. I left and shopped elsewhere. I rarely shop at Home Depot even though it is the most convenient big box store to my house, for various reasons I won't elaborate on in this review. However, I gave HD another chance and went in for some garden supplies. I assumed that Home Depot would have taken care of their rodent problem by now. I'm sure it's difficult to control the garden area as it is not enclosed, but what I saw was astounding. Mice were running all over, and the bags of fertilizer, grass seed, etc. were chewed open with the contents spilled onto the shelves and floors. Yuck and ew and no thank you Home Depot Willow Grove! Ordered nail gun and nails for same day delivery. Kenisha cancels nail gun but ships nails. Nails no good without gun. I call and she says she would have called to verify if I still wanted nails but said she was busy with another customer and then the delivery guy was in a hurry and rushed her....LOL! How about just owning up to your mistake? 1-800 customer service says refuse delivery of nails as I did. Then a week later I realize no refund was issued. I spoke to Keith who said Dave would call me following day. I call 2 days later spoke to Keith again and said Dave would call. Dave never called but 5 days after I receive an incomplete refund. Went here to buy a lawn mower. Workers aren't helpful at all. I bought a 30 inch mower and the guy seen I was trying to get it on the cart and stacked a bunch of stuff right in the aisle. I had to move it just to get to the checkout and to different workers were in the middle of the aisle and I had to ask them to move even though they looked at me and seen I was coming. I said excuse me and they gave me a rude look. The checkout cashier wasn't very friendly either. The store is a mess also. Corporate needs to visit this store because it's falling behind. read more

Home Depot use of a third party carrier to deliver their appliances and fixtures is a complete mess. I ordered a bathroom vanity 3 times. On the first attempt the delivery driver said they only delivery within 5 feet from your mailbox. Hmmm..... The second attempt, the product arrived with a huge hole in its side, which at that point the delivery driver stated, "We just had to make sure you didn't want it", again Hmmm... Finally on the third attempt they continue to push back my delivery date without even notifying me. I've had to push back the construction on my home renovation because of Home Depot and their delivery carrier. Next time I guess I'll go with Amazon or another retailer that "delivers"on their promises. read more

I was approached in the Willow Grove store by a Viviant rep. I thought he was a Home Depot employee. He asked if I wanted a free estimate for solar panels to which I agreed. He asked for my license to confirm my ID and my address. I provided it to him and here, he was able to get my SSN from my driver ID #. He did not ask for my consent or even tell me he was running my credit which is a hard inquiry. I was furious and advised management at Home Depot. They did contract to allow this company to solicit in their store! Well, their response was that it was not their problem. I then contacted the home office and received the same reply. I have been a Home Depot commercial customer for many years. I'm usually very frustrated when I call in to the store. I have to say this time I was connected to the manager named Martin , he was busy working as most Home Depot employees are but still answered my questions. Had to look into something and said he call back in 20 minutes. 19 minutes and 37 seconds later he called back and completed the task that I had given him. He actually had to go further into it and email me a receipt I know it was difficult to do within a system that Home Depot has, but again Martin came through I really appreciate his help and I'm looking forward to the new Home Depot system. read more

I ordered a grill--assembled and delivered. I tried the grill the next day and grease dripped all over the gas cannister. The drip pan was installed backwards! I couldn't just turn the pan around because the bracket that holds the pan was installed backwards. I called and, after waiting on hold, was transferred. The woman who handled the matter kept putting me on hold while she talked to someone about the problem. She said that they would have to pick up the grill, take it back to the store and then return it. She said, "That's just a small thing for you to fix." I explained that the whole thing would have to be disassembled and then reassembled correctly. She put me back on hold for about 20 minutes. Finally, I hung up. I called the 800 number. That gentleman said that he could not find a record of any assembly. He called the Willow Grove store and they said I did not have it assembled! I am 72 years old--I can't handle the assembly. The man said that Home Depot would send someone out to rectify the problem. It only took an hour of aggravation! read more

Rob in the paint department deserves a shout out for being the most friendly, patient, and helpful HD employee I have ever interacted with. He gave us above and beyond customer service that you don't normally expect from a large retail store. He suggested a product that would cut our time and work down immensely. Since we wanted to try a sample of that color first, but in a certain finish they didn't carry samples of, he made us a custom color that looked exactly the same for us to take home and try. I feel like we were there for 30-40 min just talking to him and looking at colors. He assisted others promtly and we never felt rushed or ignored. Home Depot corporation is sneaky. I bought a lawnmower, and then found that the checkout computer listed it as about $22 higher than the rack SKU label. The cashier fixed that potential ripoff. When I went to buy a cordless drill displayed as being on sale, there were none actually in this store. The computer wanted to charge me about $6 to order one even for store pickup. The computer also said that store would be getting more, but on the day the sale expired (what a coincidence!). When I rebelled against Home Depot trying the old "bait-and-switch", the service desk employee worked a long time to get while multi-tasking with other customers to get the drill to me at the listed price and directly to my home without a delivery charge. SUMMARY; Caveat Emptor for Home Depot price tricks, but hallelujah for this store's employees that I have interacted with (apparently not everybody has this experience, though). read more

The people that work there are not only friendly but very knowledgeable in their department. They always greet us when we come and answer any of our questions that we may have.
