This seems to be a common refrain among other reviewers. A job that should have taken 6-8 weeks ended up taking 4 plus months with long periods of no activity. But we are satisfied with the finished product.

Touchstone just completed my Master Bathroom Renovation that started on August 12, 2021. Yes, you…read moreread that right...a bathroom renovation that took almost six months to complete. Although the design phase went smoothly, I knew that the renovation would have issues when workmen showed up less than 50% of the time during the first two weeks. I communicated with the office and told them that I had specifically been told when I asked before signing the contract that a crew would be onsite continuously throughout the project. Touchstone stated that my experience was not typical and things should improve. They did not. From the inability to let me know when people would be at the house to every step taking at least three attempts, if not more, to get right plagued the job from the start. I had agreed that due to supply issues that the job could be done in two phases. Per the plan the first phase, to be complete by September 22, 2021 would leave me with a totally renovated bathroom with the exception of the cabinetry which would be installed in November when it was due to arrive. I accepted this as I was trying to work with Touchstone and was aware of supply issues. On September 22nd, I had no plumbing nor lighting components completed. The shower was an ongoing issue that resulted in Touchstone's subs flooding the bathroom and causing water damage to the kitchen tiles beneath. Just during the last two weeks has the shower been operational. The toilet was delivered with the wrong parts as was the bathtub. (Or so I was told). I found that many times I was told delays were due to problems that weren't actually the root cause. For instance I was told that the reason the shower faucet wasn't working correctly was because I was 'operating it wrong'. Only to find out that it was because they had mixed up the hot and cold water lines and had to replumb it. I could go on and on but let my job serve as a warning. If you want a stress free experience, do not use Touchstone. They will blame Covid, supply issues, wrong parts, whatever to cover for their own incompetence. Additionally although I asked specifically if they used subs for the job (and was told that 'no we have our own people'), they use exclusively subs. This means that your job is being scheduled alongwith myriad other jobs, thus accounting for the spotty onsite attendance. Also it takes quite a few swings at the bat before you get the "A" team out to fix a problem. For instance it took at least six attempts and failures with the plumbing minions before the Master Plumber came out and was able to correctly diagnose and fix the shower hot/cold water line problem. Throughout I was offered varying excuses for why it wasn't working. Also after the first week, there was no onsite project manager so I was left to diagnose and communicate issues/problems as they arose. This included working to solve procurement issues, coordinate work activities, whatever was required to try and get the project completed. Unless you are willing to handle those types of responsibilities along with deal with the half-truths and other quality issues, go with another service provider.

I will also be buying my kitchen floor from them. Why? The very large inventory (do not let the size of the store from the outside fool you), the quick turn-around time and attention to detail all clearly mattered but the personal interest in providing the best job and workmanship possible cannot be matched. I shopped around quite a bit before I made my first flooring purchase but somehow missed Mayo. Don't make the same mistake.

I told my daughter about how helpful they were, so when she was ready for a new kitchen, that's where she went. Again, their suggestions and follow-through were wonderful. Recently, I had a smaller bathroom project to complete and had a contractor who was in a hurry, so special order wouldn't work. They helped me look through their own over-stock until I found the perfect flooring. For shower tile, they not only gave me suggestions from their stock, but directed me to other retailers who they thought might have what I needed without waiting for delivery. I couldn't be more pleased with their selection and service, and highly recommend them!

We hired Reico (and worked with Cindy) for a full kitchen redesign, and the most important element…read morewe asked for was an island that would seat five people comfortably, with storage on one end. We were extremely clear that the seating needed to be unobstructed--essentially, a counter-height table extension from the cabinets. The final design we approved included an apron, but no measurements were provided to explain how it would impact stool clearance. The rendering even showed five stools at the island, which gave us confidence that it would work as intended. Unfortunately, that was a huge mistake. Because of a poorly designed apron, it is physically impossible to fit standard counter-height stools under the island. The clearance is so low that no stool exists that both fits under the island and allows you to sit and eat comfortably. In other words, the centerpiece of our kitchen--the island seating--is a total failure. It is appalling that a professional kitchen designer would overlook such a basic and critical detail. We assumed we could trust her expertise, but that assumption has left us with an island that cannot function as designed and no reasonable options to fix it without a major renovation. If you are considering working with this company, be warned: do not assume the designer has considered the practical details. Double-check every measurement yourself, because we learned the hard way that they do not.

My husband and I met with the designer (a great lady- big picture-oriented and practical) and her recommended contractor (a knowledgeable, detail-oriented guy who took the time to explain things), and we were excited. When we received the design and estimates, we did get a sticker-shock with respect to the markups of the costs. Based on our designer/contractor interactions, however, we were still considering Reico, even with the markups! But, the level of responsiveness dropped dramatically. Before we knew it, we were informed that our designer (the great lady) was "no longer with the company" and I now have all these spam-type calls from random people I don't know at Reico. Rude.
