Stopped at the store to check out the mulch. They unfortunately don't have the typical samples out of the mulch. "Fortunately" there were several bags that had opened, so I could check them out. I decided on a brown mulch for the garden bed. I paid for the bags sadly they did not have any more plastic sheets for the car. Leo loaded my car, he was awesome. He picked out bags that were intact and made sure I could see out the back window. When I unpacked the car, I was very happy that there was no mulch in the car. Lots of people on Yelp crapping on this Home Depot. I have not had any issues here. I have went in to buy items, ordered online for in store pickup and used curb side pickup. All three have gone smoothly. I also love the self checkouts, though I admit I am in the minority opinion when it comes to self checkouts. The online ordering for in-store pickup is very smooth. Great communications with the service. If you know what you need, this is the way to go. read more

Wow what happened? They use to be so friendly and helpful. I had to ask 4 people for flashing. Four different answers. No one walked me to the product. Now the employees are not allowed to pet any dogs. I get it but man my dog loves going to hardware stores for that reason. She cried every time they past her. read more

Poor customer service!! We always shop at Home Depot (sometimes at Lowes). My husband is retired military and military folks get a 10% discount. All DH has to do is show is ID card. I can do the same thing. The other day, as usual, he shows his card. The young man told my husband he needed to use the APP. Well, he doesn't use any APPS. That's just not his thing; plus the APP for the discount requires providing his SSN. That's not going to happen. So, he tells the guy, "I'll take these to another register." The guy says, "Have at it," with a snarky attitude. WOW, really? That's the way you talk to someone that served our country??! Shame on you. read more

Had to run in Home Depot today to grab some storage containers. I saw on the app they were on sale and we needed a few to put things in. This store is huge lol it's been a while since I've been in a Home Depot and actually walked around. Everything has its place that's for sure and the app lets you know what isle you can find what you are looking for. A new feature for the military discount of some don't know already. You'll need to go online and upload proof this meaning your military ID ( mark out important things) they just need to see service date etc . For me I didn't, because I'm getting so I don't trust uploading things like that just to get a discount. Home Depot you just need to have employees ask to see it that's all. But, of course evokes self checkout these days. So, with that being said I'd have given 5 stars as I do like Home Depot, however due to the inconvenience this can cause elderly people to figure this out. read more

Unhelpful, incompetent, zero customer service. That's what you'll get if you visit this Home Depot. Wanted a floor model washer and dryer that was on sale and advertised as clearance. Waited in appliances for 15 mins for someone to help me. Had to ask another employee (which are extremely scarce) to help me get assistance in appliances. She called and a girl showed up to help. Well, so I thought. She barely knew anything about the model, knew nothing about the clearance deal or procedure on it. I asked about delivery options and got a flat out No. I asked if I could come back with a truck and she told me I had to pick it up now if I wanted it. Excuse me but I'm still paying over $1400 for a set of washer and dryer and I'm being treated like I'm getting them for free. She asked if I needed anything else and walked off saying she had to take her break. Still wanting the units, I asked if there was another maybe more helpful employee around to assist me. Well, nobody to be found. With other customers trying to get help as well. I walked all the way to the front to ask a cashier for assistance. She also radioed but nobody showed. I waited in appliances for another 15 mins for nobody to come. Seems at this point Home Depot doesn't actually want to sell anything. I walked back to the front with intention to leave at this point. I walked by the same cashier and said welp nobody showed up, I'm gonna leave. She stopped me and said wait let me see if I can get the manager. She called him, and didn't sound too concerned and said he'd have someone meet me in appliances. Well, I walked back to appliances for a nice older lady to help. She worked the checkout for us and we secured the clearance deal after some time. Promising it'll be ready and wrapped for us to pick up tomorrow. Much more than the other girl even bothered with. Next day I come to pick it up, with my rented u-haul van, since Home Depot had a flat out no delivery option for us. Arrive to hear that the units are still sitting stacked on the show room floor, not wrapped, not ready to pick up. Seriously Home Depot? Well the nice girl at the front for pickup took charge and got the set ready for us with a team of nice guys to help load into the U-Haul. While I appreciate the assistance, this location has horrible customer experience from start to finish. read more

This place is a circus. Customers always have to dig thru lumber for decent pieces. Employees don't offer assistance. The app can say an item is in stock then drive to location and it's out of stock. They want everyone use self checkout while employees are standing around talking about their weekend plans. Avoid if possible. read more

I despise leaving 1-Star reviews for anyone but in this case against a major hardware chain...this review is very much warranted. About a month ago, our dishwasher finally went out and we had to go back to primitive ways of handwashing our dishes at home, but in the 21st Century. Home Depot was called and an order for a new dishwasher was to be delivered, with the old one carried out. Finalization of the bill happened and then...BAM!...it's going to be 3 weeks before we can get it out to you. Ok...that's fine. I'll be patient and understanding that stimmy money began flowing in and possibly caused a backlog of orders. I can handwash for 3 weeks. This past Saturday, 3/20/21, I received the call that my dishwasher was being delivered and that the window would be from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm and that I would receive a call approx. 30 mins prior to them arriving. Ok. I'm getting excited now that I don't have to look at small mounds of drying dishware on top of the kitchen counter anymore! Yay me! 4:30 comes around. No call, no one has shown. I call the logistics company that Home Depot contracts out (RAS Logistics) and advise that I've heard from no one. At 5:30 pm (1 hour after the tail end of my delivery window), I get a call from the delivery driver. He says that he's 10 minutes out. FINALLY! We're getting somewhere. Then........"But, sir, I have to let you know that they didn't give me the accessories to hook it up so that will need to be rescheduled." Uhhhhh...what? Excuse me...could you repeat that once more? Same statement. So, since the dishwasher would not be functional nor operational without the proper components to hook it up and would only serve as a pretty cosmetic upgrade...I naturally told him to not waste his time bringing it and to have someone in their leadership to call me ASAP bc I wanted to find out who the logistical genius was that didn't do their job and is on a pinnacle level of incompetence? It is now Tuesday, 3/23/21 and I still have not received a call from anyone at Home Depot or RAS Logistics about getting my appliance out here that has been paid for over 3 weeks. They obviously do not care and it dumbfounds me that no one has even followed back up with me when they're just holding on to my paid-in-full dishwasher. I wanted to see how long it would take them to call me and I'm still waiting. From a service perspective, I wish I could give a ZERO star. I will not give this location, nor Home Depot a fraction of my business going forward. You failed...miserably. read more

I ordered and paid in full, for cabinet refacing from Home Depot I ordered the refacing in August Install was suppose to be done in October It was one excuse after another for the delay Finally on December 16th I was told that my cabinet work would be done . He installer was very nice but he did not have all the parts to complete the job. My cabinet work is still not completed and there are also a few issues with the work. I am still waiting to date for word on when my cabinets will be completed. Home Depot needs to complete his job and refund my money I am embarrassed to have anyone over to see my half done kitchen. read more

R.A.s Logistics, used by Home Depot to deliver and install appliances does haphazard work. They attempted to deliver an over the range microwave and had to do it three times. Once was not checking for road construction. They did not inform the customer, me, of this situation. One Week later, they said they attempted to deliver. No one comes around my yard without seven dogs barking. The third attempt was the charm. Upon arriving one of the men said he could not remove the old microwave. Once the obvious was pointed out, he removed two bolts and the microwave lowered. However, there were dead cockroaches there and they refused to do the work. It was up to myself, a 65 year old disabled man, and my 73 year old wife to lower the unit to the ground. They left the new unit behind and I told them to leave. HOMNE DEPOT. It took almost 2 months for the sliding patio door to be scheduled for install but when it finally happened the installer Anthony did a great job. I can't say enough bad things about this "company". I go to Home Depot thinking that I would use them to have new carpet installed in my home. They apparently outsource to local companies. Ok fine. So the nightmare begins with local small company US Installations. Everything gets scheduled, a date is chosen way out there as we wait for the carpet to be ordered. I get put in touch with the owner who takes ages to respond to any email, doesn't return calls. Awesome. The day of the installation comes, a man shows up at my house who doesn't speak a single word of english. Thinking I should be calling ICE. He has his girlfriend with him to translate. She brought her teenage daughter along because she was off from school... We were told that we would only have to move specific furniture, which turned out not to be the case. As this company decided to only send one person my wife and I had to help him move some of the heavier stuff. Fast forward a year later, there is a gigantic rip in the carpet in a perfectly straight line exactly along the seam, and the carpet is delaminating. We open up a claim with Home Depot, who sends it back to US Installation. Yet again, the lead idiot Eric doesn't answer his phone, return calls or emails. I eventually manage to get through to them, and they send someone out to inspect the damage. He comes out, inspects the carpet, aka sticks a screwdriver under it and rips it up more. He decides it's a manufacturer defect as it was delaminating and tells me it's bizarre that the seam was where it was. Gentlemen from the manufacturer comes out to do an inspect, this now being after Hurricane Florence does a mold test on the carpet as well. Does his thing and tells me Home Depot will be in touch. I get a call from them a few days later that they are still waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. My wife and I finally rip up the carpet and replace it with laminate. We find mold underneath, so thanks to them for not letting us know. Weeks go by, and I finally reach back out to Home Depot. They get on the phone with idiot Eric who tells me its the manufactures fault. The manufacturer says it's pet damage (from my declawed cats). They tell me they need to send a 3rd inspector out now, but the carpet is gone. They escalate to a manager who calls me back the next day. Now US Installations has changed their tune and they're saying it's pet damage. Leaving my wife and I completely screwed. TLDR - US Installations sent out someone who didn't speak a word of English, who brought his girlfriend to translate, who brought her teenage daughter. And they all did a shitty job on a carpet that didn't last a year, and they get out making it right by flat out lying and blaming it on my cats, who apparently can cut up a carpet in a perfectly straight line, then delaminate it. Do not make the mistake of using these idiots or going to Home Depot thinking you will get professionals. read more

I really like this Home Depot. I don't go often and just have small projects around the house. But the staff is always friendly and helpful when I need directions. My only criticism would be that the plant department isn't very well stocked and the staff there really isn't very knowledgeable. I just traveled to this HOME Depot location where I was searching for a cap/ valve for my outdoor sprinkler system. I immediately went to their customer service dept where I asked for some help. The customer services rep directed me to the plumbing aisle and also notified a rep to meet me at this section. The older gentlemen who met me at the section was rifed with attitude not directed towards me per se but his vibe reeked of it. I showed him a picture of the valve that was leaking and his first response was "I don't know what it is". I knew from his response that any concrete assistance from this individual would be less than nil; and sadly, I was correct. The service rep searched for a replacement valve and there wasn't any in stock and they were on back order. I was looking for the person to at least take down my contact information and perhaps notify me when the piece came in. However, what the person did was leave me standing there while attending to another task at hand in a different aisle while uttering something work related. To be quite honest, I wasn't expecting a miracle but at least a willingness to follow up with which really the hallmark of the service rep and customer dynamic. Nevertheless, this did not occurr. On August 2021, I ordered and paid in full for re-facing my kitchen cabinets. I waited approximately six weeks for the doors/drawers to be manufactured. It took the installer five days tearing up my kitchen to finally tell me they were measured incorrectly. The installing company, middleman for Home Depot, had horrible or no customer service. I never received any correspondence from anyone associated with Home Depot with an apology, explanation, or that the second attempt of ordering cabinets were even placed. I then waited another six weeks (thru the Holidays) with my kitchen mostly without door fronts, pulls, or drawer fronts. I have reached out to corporate and individuals in Wilmington, NC store asking for an apology or some reimbursement on order. I was told to wait in line. I recommend you not to go down this slippery slope. They contract out ordering and installation of cabinets and they DO NOT stand behind their product. This process ended March 2022. read more

Big sign at entry: "To shop here you must wear a mask." I walked into the Wilmington NC store on Eastwood, and immediately saw an employee passing the time of day with a person not wearing a mask. I started shopping and saw several customers not wearing masks. When I was checking out, there was a non-mask customer checking out. I asked why they were allowed to shop and was told by an employee that if they raised the issue with the non-mask customer, they (the customer) would get belligerent. I asked for the manager and was told he was in the back, and would not do anything about it. Just a pack inconsiderate customers and cowardly Home Depot employees. My wife and I had a Christmas gift card that we had not used and decided to purchase a fire pit. We were unsure where to find them so we flagged down an employee who explained it was only his second day on the job but he pointed us in the direction where he thought they would be. Sure enough, we found them and flagged down another employee to help us figure out what signage went with each fire pit. I am really happy with the one we choose and the gift card combined with our military discount made the purchase very affordable. We have been looking around and this was by far the best price and open design. I can't wait to have a fire in our back yard. read more

I bought a top quality battery operated trimmer in December and I bought an extra battery as well.Finally last week I decided to use it ,the battery that came with it was Ok ,but when I decided to use my extra battery it needed to be charge but something was wrong with battery and could not be charged .I went to store and one of female employee asked me when I bought it I said about December ,she pretended that she was checking something on computer then told me that it is out of warranty and I have to call manufacturer main office. Since the same lady previously had lied to me I went to another employee,the second employee took her time and got me print out from my purchase and I saw that the battery still is under warranty.When I told the other employee that battery was under warranty she was in hurry to go to lunch !!! Finally The second employee she changed the battery. Looks like they never clean up the mess in that store! Customer Service Associates chose to assist 3 other customers ahead of me despite the fact that I was waiting longer than them. Very disorganized process. Decided to install bamboo floors with a product that we used 4 years earlier and was discontinued. Chris in flooring went above and beyond to find and order what we had previously been told was unobtainable. 2 weeks later and with a great installation company we have exactly what we wanted. Went in to the store to order a hot water heater on December 2nd. No issue other than the girl forgot to give us a military discount. Item would be available at the store on Dec 12 for pick up. We received an e-mail on the 12th stating that The hot water heater was available and we could pick it up that day. With the holidays, things were a little hectic so we did not make it to the store until the 21 of December. Now in all that time we never received a phone call or follow up email anything related to the hot water heater. When we arrived at Home Depot, they could not find the hot water heater or the brand within their warehouse. But did tell us that they received an e-mail stating that the item had been delayed until the 17th... Again I was picking it up on the 21st. Finally they where able to trace it to a warehouse in SC but when they contacted them, more of the same... No one knows? A lot of finger pointing and shoulder shrugging. No offer to rectify the situation, expedite a heater from another location or make our experience less frustrating, I am not asking for a $500 gift card, just a little extra effort to unscrew their mistake. In the meantime I waited almost a month for an item I need as my current heater is beginning to leak throughout the garage. Even gave us difficulty with the refund... If a simple screen door install can be screwed up, than Home Depot can do it for you! Purchased replacement door in late October and set up install. When installer arrived, he found door damaged. Took my old door and the damaged door. Took almost 2 weeks to get installer company to contact us. After numerous issues to get a date, time was set from 4-6 pm. I took off work but no one showed. When we called installer company was told no one should have set that time. What??? Then when asked to reschedule, received runaround. When tried to set new appointment today, same run around and rude schedule person. Finally gave up and went to store. Mr. I'm Not the Real Manager was not helpful either. Went to the Eastwood Rd location in Wilmington NC on Saturday 4-9-16 to purchase bird seed and an indoor plant. Waited in line for 10 minutes, they only had one register open on a busy time of day. The customer in front of me, after having his items rang up,was informed that the credit card reader was not working and that they could only take cash or check. To everyones surprise, we wondered why she did not inform anyone of this, common sense,and good customer service should have been used. I left my cart ,and left the store and went to Lowe's. I asked "which one?" and she lied some more, I peeked in sealed up bag and saw she was wrong & said so.. She was apparently training a man, but she really wasn't showing him what to do. My bag was all taped up and cashier was in SUCH a hurry, no other customers around, but she said "you don't need to look in bag", and "sign here". I had a very bad feeling . So I get out to my car, and wonder why was this HD employee was DEFINITELY LYING TO ME? I check my items and, of course, one PRE-PAID item is MISSING. I go right back in and this same HD employee, who doesn't give a shit, BLAMES THE GUY SHE'S TRAINING, which made me really mad!!! What a total fuck-up of an employee. THEN, she's claiming to be "sorry" BUT SHE'S ROLLING HER EYES AT ME, totally insincere, so outrageous! So, I'm like "Where is my other item?", to which she CONTINUES LYING, stating "oh, we are out of stock on that", & AGAIN, blames the trainee! WTH??! She didn't even bother going to find my item, which I had paid for, which HD has. Instead, she ISSUES ME A REFUND on the item I never received, acting like I had a choice in the matter. What a horrible employee, to treat her trainee like garbage, and to tell so many lies to a Customer!!! I'll bet she's Manager, which is total abuse of power. Will NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM HD. Will not be returning to this store, as it sucks AND three (3) big ass, barely contained pit bulls were in this store, fuck that! HD is just begging for a land shark lawsuit. The only good thing I really have to say about this location is that it's conveniently located out side of that I would have given its one star on two separate occasions I've recently experienced rude customer service which indicates to me the management and manager are not properly enforcing customer service etiquette which will continue to run off customers. On June 2nd around 7pm I was in the store looking for some shelving and spoke to an employee of which rudely said I'm too busy..... find someone else? Okay wow!!! So sorry you are super busy. But not only way I looking to do shelves with Home Depot I was also considering window fixtures and new appliances. I believe after the experience tonight I received I will take my business down the road a few turns where the customer service is better and the employees know their product placements.... thank you Home Depot for your helping me decide who I choose for my home needs. read more
