We were looking for a co-op in Prescott and the closest thing we could find was this shop and it did not disappoint! This store not only sells all kinds of local honey, but also carries a really large selection of spices, teas, locally made canned salsas and pickles of all kinds. We were looking for some snacks after a hike/mountain bike session and also wanted something cool to drink. Fridges in the back carry drinks like kombucha, iced coffee, sodas. We both found items we both wanted to nosh on including an assortment of all kinds of dried fruits! We ended up walking out with: (1) dried strawberries (these can be hard to find - especially ones that are not too sweet); (2) dried blueberries; (3) dried golden berries - (tasty and tart); (4) dried Bing cherries; (5) wasabi peas; (6) $2 special of an entire box of walnut cranberry pound cake; and (7) beef jerky. Overall, a really good find and they also have interesting items that are discounted like $2.99 whole bag of Starbucks coffee! Check this place out, you won't regret it! read more

We do love this little place. They have an amazing variety of local honey. I was a little miffed that I spent a good amount of money, and they would not let my little one use the restroom. It's not as if we just went in to use the restroom. We were shopping, and she had to go. A minor issue, but we had to cut our shopping short to take care of that. So we ended up going to Chic Fil A and spending more money there. read more

Buzz buzz I can't think of too many things in this world better than the taste of fresh, sweet, naturally made goodness.........HONEY!!! This cute little store has the smell of nature, health and well being wrapped up into one piece. It's an older establishment, small and somewhat crowded inside but offers many unique items including a fantastic variety of honey. The Wild Mountain Pecan honey is excellent for baking. It's a dark honey that has a deep rich flavor and typically requires less amount needed in recipes. One of the women who works there said she uses it for pecan pie and other nut dishes. She said it really enhances the nut flavor. She also suggested the Desert Blue Clover for a lighter taste. I use it in tea and my protein or veggie shakes. Wonderful flavor. It's one of their best sellers. They offer samples of all the flavors. I'm not sure how many flavors, but I'd say around 6-8 varieties. I highly recommend trying the Pecan and Blue Clover. You won't be disappointed. The store also has a lot of vitamins and supplements, packaged nuts, trail mixes, dried fruits, candies, chips, breads, and special dry pastas including gluten free. They also have homemade jellies, jams, butters and sauces. There are many other fun items available as well. It's definitely worth a visit especially if you like honey. read more

There are numerous items sold in plastic zip lock baggies at The Honeyman Stores, which I've had question on, but have not been able to get the answers to. I asked the store clerk who sold me this particular item several times, bt she told me that I could find the answer on the web by entering the item listed on the package. This is not true, and shows nowhere on the website, nor does The Honeyman Website have a "contact us" option. I need to know the details of my pkg purchase which is listed as "TEH VEG LRG PROTEIN." What is it exactly? I need to know the ingredients, calories, cholesterol, carbohydrate, sugar, etc. contents; however it does not show up anywhere. The same goes for all the other items on their shelves that do not show those details. Also, there is no expiration listed on any of those packages. read more

We have been coming here for years and today when we came in a young woman was so beyond rude to us, she put my mother in tears. First, yes you can require a mask during the COVID19 pandemic, unless you have a disability restricting you to, it's a violation of the American Disabilities Act and I am reporting it. Second, wearing gloves that are meant to be disposable should be disposed between every customer. Transferring germs from person to person through the reuse of these gloves in unsanitary and completely negates your wearing your face mask. I would not be this upset, as I believe you can run your business how you want, if it weren't for the absolutely horrendous little girl who snapped at my poor mother. Good luck keeping business with such an incompetent and frankly unkind person. After years of business, we can't support a business who chooses to employ such a nasty person. read more

Former employee here to lay down some hard truths. I worked there 6.5 years, between four and six days a week if needed. I was terminated at the end February of 2021 for being trans/nonbinary. I came out as a new year's resolution, and my dead name is Emma Teskey. I have no facebook or social media of any kind, never have. I am leaving this same review on Google as Aksey Temme, which is an anagram of Emma Teskey. I have lived in Prescott for 11 years now, but I'll be moving as soon as I can manage it. The official reason for firing me was "customer complaints", and I was given no severance, no unpaid sick leave, and only one day's notice of the termination. There are some things that everyone who shops here should know, about BOTH locations. 1. They sell items years past their expiry dates; check everything you buy. Prices that end in the number 6 are almost always expired.They will not allow returns on expired goods, even if they are fermented or decayed. I had to bury things in the garbage DAILY so that the owner would not fish them out and put them back on the shelf. 2. The owner buys many discount items in bulk to repack that are damaged or past their date. There is nothing wrong with that, except wherever he stores them is infested with rodents. The address of his warehouse and packing house in Black Canyon City is printed on every bottle of honey he sells. I was required WEEKLY to sort through items covered in feces and urine from rodents "so it wouldn't go to waste". I had to decide what was "safe" to sell and what was not. I know rat and mouse leavings when I see them. I was raised on a farm/ranch off the grid near Cordes Junction. Immunodeficient customers beware. 3. I regularly had to empty dead mice from mouse traps and clean out mouse nests in both locations. Including but not limited to: nests in the employee fridge insulation, inside the walk-in cooler at the Prescott Valley location, and in boxes of goods brought up from storage in Black Canyon City. Cross contamination is a given, as no extra cleaning or quarantine of these items was required of us. 4. They require(d) masks on customers and employees all through the COVID crisis, but there was never extra cleaning or disinfection required of us. The owner often walked in with no mask and initiated many a casual conversation, with NO social distancing, with customers that WERE wearing their masks, further putting them at risk. He is over 75 years old, and is an at-risk demographic. I took it upon myself to clean during my shift, but other employees did not so much as sweep the floor. If you are immunodeficient in any way, DO NOT buy anything in the ziplock bagged sections. They only want it to LOOK as if they are complying with COVID regulations, which actually puts both the customer and the employees at greater risk. 5. The ziplock bagged sections are not rotated or dated. They are inventoried once or twice a week to see what needs restocked, that is all. The most common returns were stale or spoiled items from this section, and we were only allowed to give store credit for these items. No refunds, and customers had to spend the credit right then or lose it entirely. If I pulled items off the shelf that were fermented or stale then I was usually reprimanded. The owner would EAT items like fermented medjool dates and rancid sunflower seeds in front of me and pronounce it "fine to sell". 6. Most of the honey is pure, with one exception. The "Wild Mountain Pecan" honey has additives that are not stated on the label. Many of our customers have found this out and avoid it, and the additives change from batch to batch. Other customers declare it is their favorite and call it 'distinctive' and 'unique'. The additives I know for certain are molasses and artificial pecan flavoring. The label is identical to the other pure honeys on the shelf, and it is inaccurate. 7. They pay their employees over minimum wage, which is nice. But only if you fall in line and do not mention the daily health code violations. I was spit on by one customer (she left us a negative facebook review under the name Chantal Regan) and spit at a second time. Luckily I was behind the counter shield second time, but it was by a male customer that didn't like the mask requirement. When I brought both incidents to my coworkwer's and the manager's attention, I was dismissed as "rude" and blamed for both incidents. "Nobody else is getting spit on, so it must be something you're doing." Direct quote from the manager, Irene Handley. Thereafter, I did not put myself within six feet of any customer not wearing their mask correctly in order to keep myself safe. This did not help customers feel like they were being served, I am sure. But I also stopped telling people to put their masks on unless they were completely off of both their mouth and nose. I swear by whatever God or Gods you'd like that all of this is true. I have tried to remain objective and calm in my assessment. read more

We are in unsettled times, I realize, but what I experienced today will keep me away forever. The gentleman that waves as you drive by is always a nice gesture, today no exception. When I pulled into the parking lot, got out of my car I was shocked. The open sign was lit up, but the door was locked. I was walking away and someone came to the door, unlocked it and asked me what I needed, she barely opened the door, gloved and asked me what I needed. I did purchase a small bag of specialty rice and went on my way. I agree with a previous review, the employees are void of any personality. I ordered 2 jars of the Honeyman's Orange Blossom honey from Wild Herb Soap, which is one of the 2 stores for this honey. What arrived looks, smells and tastes like something that was improperly stored for more than 10 yrs! It's totally crystallized, very dark and tastes horrible. I've been eating OB honey most of my adult life but have never seen or tasted anything as awful as this. When I reached out, after arguing w me I was told I could return the 'unused' jars for a refund. Tough to taste something without opening it! This honey is unfit for human consumption, so it is headed for the trash. Avoid Honeyman & Wild Herb Soap. Go elsewhere where they have bee farms. read more

Door is open but you are not allowed to go in.. they ask what you want and then hand it to you, you might have cooties..but they are not afraid to take your contaminated dollars. OK, the honey is good. But I bought some olive oil that was 3 months past expiration, which I didn't notice (until I threw away the receipt and opened the bottle). Went back the next day and the woman behind the counter (who said she was "filling in") told me there is no store credit w/o a receipt. OK. I explained about the expiration date and she said there were signs posted all over the store (but, strangely enough, not near the oil shelves!).
