Love, love and love this place! In town for girls weekend gateway and we came here twice while in town for just one night. One of my friends who come up here often said she always stop by here even though she doesn't always buy anything. Just looking around, learning about spices never knew existed. Looking around kitchen goods thinking about what I can do with those tools. Well, I like to eat as much as I like to cook. If you like to spend time in the kitchen, this store is perfect for you.

    Huge selection!

Fun!! Plan on spending some time here! I heard about this place before venturing up to Prescott, and was so pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon it walking by the Courthouse, fantastic selection of spices! I love the way they're packaged in little square boxes which makes for easy spice storage, you will find unique things like "Hey Mon" Jamaican spice, and a wonderful salmon rub, as well habanero and lavender sugars! You can buy more everyday spices in bulk like parsley and thyme. There are cute dishtowels, measuring spoons, charcuterie boards, teas, butter dishes, cute bowls from Turkey - pretty much everything you might want! I could spend a lot of money in this store! It's a good thing it's in the other part of the state for me!!

What a super cute HUGE inventory place! I was told this store was not to be missed by some clients. It is a short walk across the street from where I was staying, and actually opened before 10 a.m. (thank goodness!) so I decided to check it out. It is HUGE! There's a huge inventory of different sort of teas and spices and condiments and olive oils and dishes and art objects and greeting cards and pieces of clothing and on and on. And I think there is a restaurant in the basement, but I didn't get a chance to check that out. I mean, we need a store like this where I live!! Why isn't it?? I was probably in the store a good hour if not an hour and a half. I bought various spices and dips and an eco friendly sponge, teas, coffee mugs, napkins to the tune of about $150. Yikes! I thought I was just going to check out spices! It was girl gone wild while in the store. I guess I should be thankful there isn't a store like this where I live. I could be spending a fortune.

If you happen to be in Prescott you cannot go home without checking out the spices at this store. What once was a small operation, the Spice Traveller has a new(ish) location next door the small 3 story indoor mall. Self sniff your way around all spices and teas. All kinds of Curries Chilies Salts Peppers Spice blends Herbs Favorites are Smoked Salt or black pepper: Add a smokey smell and flavor to any number of food dishes Ghost pepper salt: salt with a big kick Check out sauces and crafts from all over the world

This is a must for me everytime we come to Prescott. I go through the spice travelers Roasted Garlic like crazy. Probably a good 7 jars a year. I'll have to try some of their other items soon.

THIS BUSINESS IS "OLD CAPITOL MARKET" From "Winter Spice Sugar" to "Bloody Mary Dip" to "Hibiscus Honey" to "Maple Bacon Aioli"... your taste buds will do a dance of "buy it!" I couldn't wait long to write this review because we were so warmly welcomed into "Old Capitol Market" and invited to sample everything there was to sample and I really wanted to be the first to say "thank you." And also because it's uplifting when you enter a beautiful shop, see old "black and whites" that clearly are of the same space, and can immediately tell that there is an ambition there to honor the past. That said, even in the best restorations - even if you capture the physical characteristics of a shop, if you don't have the human touch - it's still a miss. Here, there was no miss. Monica and her associate (I've blanked on her name and she was the first to greet us so warmly) were so friendly and it really made the difference that made our day. So, we learned that this space used to be segmented into a number of little shops (and if I think hard, I can recall it though I was always one to just sprint next door - "next door" being Prescott Brew and that little set of shops.) This market does draw from some of the shops that are and used to be next door: for example, The Spice Traveler, gourmet items from one of the other shops upstairs, as well as Oils from Olive U Naturally. We found gourmet brands like "Stonewall Kitchen" & "Fischer & Wieser" as well as select items for kitchen convenience (I think I spotted some whisks n things, but when there is beautifully jarred and otherwise lovingly packaged luxury food around, who can get to the wall with the functional items!?) ooh Ooh and there's fresh baked goods in back! A final word on samples... "Caribbean Banana Caramel Finishing Sauce." Decadent! and even more pleasing at zero grams of fat and only 35 calories per TBSP. At $9.95 for 8.5 oz...a very reasonable and wonderfully enjoyable purchase. Wrap it in tissue paper, have a wonderful chat and... that's what a friendly market should be. Thank you again for a sweet and memorable visit.

What a neat, and fun shop. Also, across the way they've got their olive oil partner, as well. We'd stopped into PBC for lunch, as there was a slight wait, we meandered through the shops, and came upon this gem. Good selection of spices, etc. The best was the Smoked Green Chile Powder, the aroma was fantastic! Picked up a few containers for myself and as gifts. So glad we did. The Chili Verde I made won the cookoff hands down, and I'd like to recognize the Smoked Green Chile Powder as the culprit! We will be back!

This was a fun store to visit in Prescott and it's right near the courthouse. Dawn Nolley was so helpful and she gave me some great local travel tips. The store also had a coffee bar and ice cream shop. They had great gifts for the cooking gourmet in your life.

    Where do I begin??

This place is amazing!!!!!! Amazing!!!!! I so wished I lived in Prescott just so I could stop by here regularly for different spices. They had so many different ones to choose from that even a quality chef would struggle to figure out how to use all of them. In addition to spices, they had barbecue sauces, salsas, jams, pastas, etc. etc. etc. My family was so tired of waiting for me they finally left me behind as they continued to other shops. I settled on savory spice for a stew, some steak rub (of course), and Carolina gold sauce for chicken. I will be back. Would next weekend be too soon?

Gathered around the Forged Charcoal Grill, sipping wine at sunset and enjoying one another's company--there is no better way to show them what they mean to you than a nice dinner. The shop was amazingly clean and offered not only Piedmontese Beef, but organic chicken, duck, and Easter Ham. My girlfriend and I went a little "nutzo koo koo" and picked up steaks, hamburgers, Bacon Fig Kabobs, hand-made sausage, and dried Morel mushrooms. There is even a great selection of seasonings and a dedicated cheese refrigerator to round out the meal. To clear up some confusion from other reviews: this is a legitimate butcher shop, not a restaurant! We watched the butcher bringing out fresh hand-cut steaks, bone-in ribeyes, and even a massive Tomahawk. They also have fresh, never-frozen prepared hamburger patties ready to go. We definitely splurged, and even though we live 2 hours away in Phoenix, the helpful store manager--a friendly Viking with an amazing red beard--gave us an ice pack to keep our provisions perfectly refrigerated for the trek home. Go ahead and brag about these cuts; they deserve every bit!

We ordered in advance a 17 lb. 7 bone prime rib for a holiday meal for 14 people. It was more than sufficient, and we sent leftovers home with folks afterward. The meat was from a special 'Piedmontese' Italian cow grass fed on a Nebraska ranch. We picked up the order right as designated, and the staff was professional and delightful. The cut of meat was absolutely beautiful and slow cooked so easily. There was a bit of unexpected fat, but nothing too out of line with quality, and it was delicious. Everyone loved it As would be expected, it was outrageously expensive but worth the quality. The value was definitely in it. Several relatives in the area didn't know this place and determined to buy meat from here now, as the supermarket quality is nowhere near what these folks provide.

The staff was super friendly and they even offered us some ghost pepper salsa and chips to sample --- which we really weren't expecting with the pandemic and all. They set out a tray that they kept behind the counter and monitored it closely so there was no contamination whatsoever. I appreciated that they took the pandemic seriously. I was hesitant at first since ghost peppers are so intimidating but I grabbed a little chip, spooned some salsa on, pulled down the mask, popped that chip into my mouth, pulled my mask back up, and chomped away. It was good! The heat was doable and the flavor was tasty. While it wasn't nearly as spicy as I was expecting, it was good. I walked away with a bag of Ass Kickin' Habanero Honey Peanuts and a jar of Jerome Reaper Salsa that I paired with a huge sheet tray of Chrissy Teigen mushroom & crispy shallot nachos later on. I'm glad the ghost pepper was the only ghost I encountered in this haunted mining town!
