Imagine a local shop that sells local honey, dried fruits, farm fresh pickled products, Jerky, nuts, grains and other healthy goods. No need to imagine, it's here and has been here for quite a while. I only wish I knew about it sooner than I did. Since starting to shop there, I no longer buy honey, dry fruits, jerky and other products at the large box stores most of us shop at. The employees are friendly, they'll appreciate you returning cleaned Ball jars and will actually give a credit for those jars. Old fashioned shopping at its best ! Delicious honey and great prices. I went here back in June and bought 3 jars of honey, the two smaller ones are gone but I still have half of the very large $60 jar I bought. I can't wait to go back when I'm done and get more I live in Peoria so it's a bit of a drive for me but I will have to do a day trip to Prescott for the honey. I tried catclaw, camelthorn and Prescott wildflower I think the camelthorn is my favorite but they're all delicious. I drink a lot of loose leaf tea and I love using the honey to sweeten my tea. When it comes to raw local honey you won't find a better selection or price. They also had a bunch of interesting snacks for sale. read more

Yummy honey yes, but wall of spices and teas....more grocery items perishable and shelf stable. Friendly employee, even let me know I'd be getting a free bread item with any purchase. (Which was unexpected and awesome, grabbed the pita bread. My daughter's favorite) I bought some solid lotion bars for gifts and honey sticks. As well as a couple jars of local honey for our coffee. Great selection if healthy ingredients and delicious goodies of all kind. Prices are frankly amazing as everything looks to be locally sourced from Yavapai County and surrounding localities. Customer Service is also beyond anything I would expect. I was overcharged on my first visit and almost 2 weeks later the attendant Jacob, who was ringing me up, asked me if I was in a week or so ago? I was "caught red handed" and he refunded the money I was owed back with a hearty apology. Let that sink in as you read this review. Let me start by saying I've been buying this honey for about 5 years...the same honey in the same jar every time, wild mountain pecan. I've spent a LOT of money and loved the honey, ate it by the cup full and raved about it to friends and strangers....until now! I bought a new jar in Phoenix at Healthy Habit where I usually buy it since I first discovered it in a little store on a trip to PV. The $67 jar jumped to $83! WHOA!! That was a huge increase in itself yet once I got over the sticker shock I was sort of ok with it as the 190oz jar lasts me about 6 months and prices everywhere are through the roof. The flavor has always been reminiscent of a coffee mocha in my opinion and so thick it sticks to the spoon and is almost chewy. Very unique. Delicious! Tonight I opened this newest 190oz jar, it didn't look right on the bottom side of the lid and had an almost gritty look. I stuck my spoon in and it sunk, it didn't dig in like it normally would. I pulled out the spoon to a runny watery consistency that was not like all the other jars I've bought over the years...whatever, it was still dark in color I thought. I put it in my mouth and that's where the magic failed. It is NOT the same flavor!!! It has a weird burnt flavor, something I've never tasted before and I don't like it at all. Their website claims they never add water but I no longer believe that based on this experience and I will be calling them out on it (Yes I know honey thickens over time but this honey was never ever thin or a pour-able liquid ever in over 5 years of consistent buying). I will be asking for a refund or replacement because this is Not the quality I've been buying over the years and the taste is quite bad. I went there recently for the first time. I got the mesquite honey and it's just lovely. A mildly delicious floral tasting honey. I use it instead of sugar in my homemade bread and I love the mild sweetness! The store has so much more than honey, too. What a cool little store! I'm a sucker for good honey so I made a beeline to The Honeyman to see what the buzz was all about. In addition to the locally harvested varieties of honey, they also have varieties from Brazil and even some manuka honey. Other bee-dazzling products included dry beans, rice, a huge variety of spices, preserves, nuts, and loose leaf tea. There's a small section of refrigerated items but it's more of a dry goods store here. I picked up a 16 oz jar of catclaw honey ($6.50) after sampling a few varieties at the front register. Other types of local honey they had that I remember were blue clover, pine, and mesquite. Service was kind and friendly. This place is becoming a weekly visit for my husband and I. Not only is there a variety of honey to choose from, each has its own delicate flavor. Usually when I bake homemade biscuits, honey is the perfect accompaniment. We also pick up a couple bags crystallized ginger, chocolate covered espresso beans, and whatever other tasty snack we are craving at that time. So many nut varieties to chose from. We are always greeted by the lady at the register, who is friendly and makes sure we don't have any questions. She usually has some fresh veggies from the garden available for reasonable prices. (I think late spring / summer months so far). We are never disappointed. Very cute store. read more

There is a variety of rice, legumes, grains, flours dried fruits and nuts - and their own-brand of great and interesting condiments and preserved jar products, too. The way they present these helps me budget and not waste resources we need to live by: FOOD and money. And the quality of these staples is super good. They have a huge variety of herbs for a variety of holistic wellness needs I can add to my cooking as seasoning and spices. They have vitamin supplements, too but that doesn't seem to be their focus...WHICH IS GOOD because there is more real healthy food option. And, I've bought honey from The Honeyman to give as gifts (because honey is a GREAT GIFT that symbolizes LIFE), and their honey is EXCEPTIONAL...and local honey is easy to find here. Their molasses is also great! I really like the ambiance. It's a small community grocer that sells, mostly, ESSENTIAL local dairy, meat (frozen) and honey along with other essential staples needed to live a good healthy life. It's pretty small, but a large space isn't needed for WHAT IS ESSENTIAL. It's not hard to find what is needed to have a healthy diet. There is very very little fresh produce, and what is present is seasonal, local and fresh - which is perfect. The layout is simple, and there is always someone on hand to help find something If I can't find it which I've only had to do once, and it was right in front of me anyway. The service has always been very courteous. They especially like it when you bring back empty egg-cartons and glass Masan jars which is GREAT! This is another way to support a community by keeping costs down through RECYCLING and not waisting resources. I totally value the vision I see of what this local resources provides to its community as a great service that indicates a really strong and responsible community to be a part of, and this kind of store being in our community means HEALTH is important to it. After suffering for allergies for weeks I was told The Honeyman was the place to go. As soon as I stepped into the place I was kindly greeted by their staff and pointed in the right direction of their mesquite honey (1 teaspoon a day for allergy sufferers!!) I not only bought the honey, which, BTW, was excellent, but also purchased nettle tea, pickled asparagus (yum!!), blue cheese stuffed olives, cherry preserves and sweet potato pecan butter. Came here over the weekend and this is such a cute little shop! The place is so tiny you have to keep an eye out otherwise you will miss it. The business has a parking lot which is also small. The guys inside were super helpful and welcoming. They have a very large selection of honey and other goods as well. We picked up some honey and a bag of fresh tea and camomile tea and a tea ball. Everything was fairly priced and everything tasted fresh. They have two locations in Prescott and Prescott Valley. Definitely worth checking this place out! read more

Their honey selection is quite amazing and prices are reasonable however some of the other items the store carries are priced a bit high. What is disappointing is a) the pistachios we bought were riddled with dead and alive bugs b) the nuts and dried fruit is mostly non-organic and I couldn't find anything that indicates it's no -GMO. Specifically dried papaya (which I know is gmo many times when otherwise labeled) we inquired on and were told they didn't know. For a health conscious place I was shocked at how many conventional nuts and dried foods were sold here. Maybe they are organic and the packaging doesn't indicate this? I have been buying honey from The Honeyman since the early 1970's when he sold it out of a cart at the Prescott Flea Market next to the YMCA. I have bought other so called craft honey but nothing meets the quality of The Honeyman. My favorite is Wild Mountain (pecan). In my coffee and every else I cam use a liquid sweetener. I love visiting his stores. Big plus is you can recycle your used honey jars there. My visits are good for 3 or 4 jars. read more
