Gathered around the Forged Charcoal Grill, sipping wine at sunset and enjoying one another's company--there is no better way to show them what they mean to you than a nice dinner. The shop was amazingly clean and offered not only Piedmontese Beef, but organic chicken, duck, and Easter Ham. My girlfriend and I went a little "nutzo koo koo" and picked up steaks, hamburgers, Bacon Fig Kabobs, hand-made sausage, and dried Morel mushrooms. There is even a great selection of seasonings and a dedicated cheese refrigerator to round out the meal. To clear up some confusion from other reviews: this is a legitimate butcher shop, not a restaurant! We watched the butcher bringing out fresh hand-cut steaks, bone-in ribeyes, and even a massive Tomahawk. They also have fresh, never-frozen prepared hamburger patties ready to go. We definitely splurged, and even though we live 2 hours away in Phoenix, the helpful store manager--a friendly Viking with an amazing red beard--gave us an ice pack to keep our provisions perfectly refrigerated for the trek home. It's not so simple to find a top quality butcher. This place, however, is at the very top of the few still in existence, anywhere. We ordered in advance a 17 lb. 7 bone prime rib for a holiday meal for 14 people. It was more than sufficient, and we sent leftovers home with folks afterward. The meat was from a special 'Piedmontese' Italian cow grass fed on a Nebraska ranch. We picked up the order right as designated, and the staff was professional and delightful. The cut of meat was absolutely beautiful and slow cooked so easily. There was a bit of unexpected fat, but nothing too out of line with quality, and it was delicious. Everyone loved it As would be expected, it was outrageously expensive but worth the quality. The value was definitely in it. Several relatives in the area didn't know this place and determined to buy meat from here now, as the supermarket quality is nowhere near what these folks provide. read more

Bought a 7lb prime rib here for our Thanksgiving dinner. Cooked it on the outside grill. The flavor was simply amazing and the meat could be cut with a butter knife! Our guest were amazed with the meats flavor as well and said it was the best they had ever had! ! I must also thank Mike and his mother who helped us pick out the prime rib size, gave us cooking instructions tips, and helped us select meat rub to escalate the flavor. This is not a butcher shop! Everything is prepackaged. Bad customer service! I pulled in here 10-22-24. She had to have know I was there as the sun reflection off my windshield would have alerted her. The old lady just sat there looking at her phone. I walked up one aisle then over to the steaks. This was for a birthday so I thought I would splurge. Filets @ $50/lb and ribeyes @ $30/ lb. She did not acknowledge me once. No hello how you doing or even KMA. I was looking at 2.5pbs filets and ribeye. That would be $180. It's a splurge. I looked back at her for about 30 seconds and no movement from her. The old lady was either dead or just didn't give a sh!t. So I threw the items I had back in the bin and walked out. I saved myself $80 going to Trader Joe's and I got another ribeye at the Frys (actual) butcher block for $19.99 / lb. What the heck is Piedmont beef anyway? Is it better than Angus? The company offers a chicken that started in France and sent to a special farm where there raised strictly by French tradition. One of the best chicken I've eaten.clean not filled with steroids and antibiotics. Believe me you will taste the difference right away. And there other products are amazing. These guys are top notch! having grown up on a beef cattle farm, there is a certain standard expected... you cannot find this standard in a grocery store. These guys understand butchering, and carry some of the best products out there, near and far. When you open a package of meat, it should not have an unpleasant aroma, the juices should smell clear, odorless... the meats i purchase weekly fromPM, are of the utmost freshest you can find in a store. Inflation has sky rocketed, groceries are expensive, good meat is VERY expensive. I love this company. They are kind and helpful and have ordered everything I need in a timely manner without any mishaps. They bend over backwards to meet my requests and are cheerful about it. They are knowledgeable and patient with all my questions, which can be a lot at times. All the staff that I have had contact with, via the phone, are "user friendly" displaying amicable phone etiquette, which is important to me. The owner himself, Mike, has contacted me when there was time sensitive information to pass on. When I plan special occasions, their products are always a hit with my guests. We have been traveling for 5 months and been buying ethically raised meat as part of our promise to ourselves and the environment. The beef here is superior to anything we found. It is Soo so delicious and you can feel the nutritional benefits when eating it. It is the best beef I've ever had and we plan to travel hours out of our way to continue to have our freezer stocked. The less costly thin strip steaks are just as incredible as the more costly rib eyes. Just incredible. Stock up if you go. So worth every penny. read more

Bought a $400 roast and lab chops last year and everything was good. Then this year I bought a $200 prime roast that was inedible. I opened the vacuumed sealed package and there was a terrible smell. I cleaned the roast with water and paper towels and then smelled the roast and started gagging. There was no way this meat was edible. It was Christmas Eve and was planning a nice dinner for months with family visiting from out of state. Prescott Meat Company said there was nothing they could do. I took pictures of the greyish meat and pictures of it in the trash to show I wasn't trying to get something for nothing. My Christmas Eve dinner was ruined and no accountability was taken from the meat company. I had another order of seafood to pick up for new years but after this terrible experience I will never go back. Disgusting business practices. Shame on them. read more

We discovered this little jewel on our last visit. We got venison, elk, beef belly, really good syrup, duck fat spray, a big tortilla chip that is divine, foie gras, I can't remember what else we got, but every single thing we got was fresh and delicious. I went to the Prescott Meat Company on Gurley and it is a fantastic place with very nice owners! I bought some ground tenderloin (it was great), some chuck meat for beef bourguignon (it was amazing), and some Esposito Sausage with provolone cheese and parsley (and it was so good). They carry cast iron items, spices, holiday kitchen items and other kitchen necessities. The owners are really helpful. They make a big effort to import fine meats. Wonderful find! read more

Diane was kind and helpful on the phone and I must say, the Beef Wellington's were excellent, because of the meat quality! I also bought a couple packages of Chicken. Everything I have gotten from this store has exceeded my expectations. On my first visit, I learned they carry a revolving selection of fresh fish. I have had swordfish, steel head trout, salmon, scallops, and today I got barramundi. I am from the east coast and I can tell when fish has been frozen by the change in texture. Their fish is always fresh. They also have excellent meats. This past weekend, I cooked their lamb chops for friends. My friends couldn't stop saying how great they were. I can't wait to cook the burgers I got there. When I was looking at the packages, 2 other customers told me I wouldn't ever want to eat any other burgers after tasting theirs. It wasn't what I expected. I anticipated walking in to a showcase of fresh cut meats, and being able to ask for a custom cut steak. Instead, all meat cuts are pre package in shrink wrap. I bought 2 chicken breasts for under 10 bucks and they were the juiciest, tastiest most tender chicken breast I have ever had in Prescott and believe me I have eaten in just about all restaurants in the area. If you have a filet mignon appetite with a Big Mac budget this is not the place for you but its not that much more than a Big Mac and it is worth every penny. This place is heaven sent and the only errand I look forward to each week! The manager Sean is an absolute pleasure and unbelievably knowledgeable on everything they sell. The butchers are great, Mike always has a smile and everyone seems genuinely happy to be there! I am currently dealing with extreme health related diet restrictions and was under the impression I couldn't eat any beef because it is aged and high in histamine. I talked to Sean and he explained in detail the type of beef, where it came from, how it's processed and how long before it got to their shelves (FYI it's the freshest meat you can get in town for sure). He even graciously offered to find a meat that would work for us if his recommendations didn't. Thankfully the first cut he recommended was not only safe for our diet restrictions and caused no allergic reaction like meats from other stores but it was INCREDIBLE. The Piedmontese filet mignon as well as the Aberdeen filet mignon are hands down the best steaks I have ever had in my life. The chicken they sell is also incredible and beyond regular "organic chicken" and you can taste the difference. They have so many options of other types of meat, even fish and high quality dog treats and marinades, this is not your average butcher shop! Everything is so nutrient dense I even noticed I feel full and more satisfied from smaller portions of meat from Prescott Meat Company compared to other grocery store bought "grass fed / organic" meat. We tried Prescott Meat Company on Jan 24th. The owners are nice and very knowledgeable about their products. We grilled 2 baseball cut sirloins and they were spectacular! Full of flavor, juicy and tender - the perfect cut. We purchased a package of the riblets and plan on grilling them tomorrow. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys an excellent cut of beef. I am anxious to try their chicken and sausages. Our son and his wife are also fans! read more

Whatever you do, don't have a problem with any of the product. The chicken wings they sell are cut off on the ends and there are shards of bone in the meat which we discovered by being stuck by sharp fragments. My wife called to make them aware of the problem and they offered an exchange. After inviting her to come exchange it, they refused to do the exchange after she drove over there. The kid behind the counter then proceeded to gaslight her claiming he never told her he would do an exchange. Long story short, later that day, we received a phone call from the owner, Mike, who blamed my wife for the problem without even hearing her side. Afterwards, he patronizingly offered a partial exchange while "schooling" us about "the nature of the beast" with this product. To us, it's very simple: chicken wings should not have bone shards and customers should not have to worry about cutting their mouths on sharp fragments. It's a shame to have poor customer service and lose customers who have spent alot of money in this shop. read more
