In my case I was asked to leave a class so I will comment on friendliness of the staff, in particular the one woman I spoke with. I came in for what was advertised to be an advanced beginner class on the website. Once I got there, I went up to the leader of the class to say that it was my first time at the studio. She asked me to dance on the spot with no music and I failed the test. After that I was asked to leave. I subsequently requested to stay for 5 minutes to see what the class was like, and she denied permission to do so. As a last resort I asked her to recommend other places for me and she refused and walked away. I hope to communicate to the staff and other people reading this that sometimes people just want an apology. You know, I altered my schedule and came from NJ to take this class, and you kicked me out without any kind of sympathy. It is a really basic thing to just say things nicely and apologize for giving inaccurate information on your website. Overall it was an unpleasant experience but I'm sure it would've been fun if I had the chance to dance. Nevertheless I'm never coming back here.

I haven't had a dance class in probably 15 years but I was able to keep up and actually do a decent job. There were about five other people in the class, which was nice. It gave a lot of space for Every one and at the end you have a chance to record yourself, which is fun. There's also a lot of community. They were having a viewing party on Saturday and next Saturday was a birthday benefit party. We had small intros at the beginning and asked one ice breaker. My only criticism is that it's not easy to figure out how to get in the building. I entered on Johnson Avenue. I'm not sure if that was the right entrance, but someone opened the door and then I went up to flights and luckily again someone was leaving and open the door otherwise I don't know how I would have gotten in. They send automatic text through class pass however they should include directions on getting in the building in that text, that would be very helpful.

(We did four classes total.) Gail takes the time to choreograph the dance too which is not always a given with private dance lessons. We learned our dance in three sessions and Gail was pivotal in making this happen. In the final session she helped polish some areas to help elevate the dance to another level! She was incredibly helpful in walking us through the moves (even when we were starting from VERY little experience) and incorporating our feedback on stuff we'd hoped to include in our first dance. She was both educational and fun, and created a very supportive learning environment. We've since advised a few other couples to check this place out, and to our knowledge, they've all had great things to say, too. So much of wedding planning is an annoying slog that you have to keep some of it exciting and fun, and our sessions with NY Wedding Dance definitely were some of the best highlights of wedding prep in that regard. We also need to give a special shout-out to Stine and Gail (the owner) for making the COVID wedding experience such a smooth one. When we cancelled our original wedding date in May 2020, Gail reached out to check in on how we were doing and was super flexible on the timings of our scheduled appointments, which meant so much in terms of a personal touch at a stressful time. She also reached out on our original wedding date, which we were both super impressed by as one of the most thoughtful gestures we encountered from our wedding vendors. Weddings are crazy right now. They mix up their schedule of classes and have had different styles like Lyrical, Ballet Barre, Hip Hop, Urban Latin, and also Social dance. I'm a huge DWTS fan, so when I found this was the dance studio of Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy, I was excited to try it. I took a group class with Val once when he visited the studio, and it was a really fun experience. They do private lessons, social parties, competitions, showcases, and have special guest coaches come in. I mostly go for group class but have done some private lessons and a group showcase. Miljan is a great instructor, an amazing dancer, and it's truly a pleasure to dance with him. Kelvin is also super fun, an amazing dancer and leader. I've only had him for group class, but it was always a challenging and fun class. The only female instructors I had have all left the studio, but overall, the instructors I've met there are all very professional. Amazing dancers, encouraging teachers, and very welcoming. The studio is beautiful. Clean, bright, plenty of mirrors and floor space. They let you practice for free if you're a student there, which is nice. I've been to other studios that charged a floor fee to practice. The studio, classes, and instructors are all excellent, but long term costs get pricey. Seems to be rather typical with ballroom dance in general, at least in the U.S. Expensive hobby to maintain. Overall, highly recommend this studio.

I started with Anna as my instructor and Miljan was added to supplement. When Anna departed, Srna came on and with her and Miljan I feel very supported with my endeavor to learn dancing. I've been going for about a year. I've learned way more than anticipated. Miljan and Srna are also very patient and I need it. Some days are better than others and when I forget what I'm doing they gently remind me and will rewind as many times as needed until I get it down. I'd recommend coming in for a into lesson and group class if you're on the fence. The group classes are always interesting. I will warn anyone Monday's are the intermediate class so, unless you've got prior dance history, you may wanna skip. That class is hard! The studio is also beautiful. Being in a program you are able to go watch the dance competitions and the studio puts on various activities each month. Some are included others are an extra cost. While this is definitely a pricy hobby, it's something I can take with me anywhere and it's a lifelong investment.

The teachers are welcoming, patient, and attentive, having the attitude of "there are no stupid questions", and they are encouraging even to those who have "two left feet." During class, instructors will often provide personal tips to individuals to improve or correct their form, sometimes going so far as attaching ankle weights to correct bouncy students (Me, never!) or tying them together to learn to dance in close space. Such creative approaches can make points in ways that are more fun and impactful than straightforward instruction. Other students are happy to help during practices, and private instruction is available if you want to really drill down and perfect your technique. You should know that Argentine Tango actually consists of three main forms: "tango", "milonga" & "vals" (waltz). Triangulo offers instruction in all three, every week, which makes it stand out from other schools. This is important because at social tango dances music for all three forms is played, so having exposure to each variation will avoid your being left out of a dance not knowing what to do. Being able to dance waltz weekly beats occasional workshops. I highly recommend the "Intensive" series (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced) which include instruction in multiple forms of tango. The classes provide time afterwards to practice what you've learned. This is important for getting better - practice is what gets the movements into your body. Speaking of which, the school has dedicated weekly sessions to gather with classmates and outside dancers to practice what you've learned and try new things, and also regular social gatherings to meet and dance at. Tango dancing is a great way to get your body moving, meet new people, and escape the grind of everyday life. Triangulo is a place where you can learn in a friendly, supportive, social environment, with lots of opportunity to practice what you learn to get better quickly. Go dance and have fun!

I am also a drama teacher and her influence permeates my classroom and teaching style. Her method of teaching allows students to learn and practice choreographed group dances that are engaging and imaginative while at the same time, creating their own solo (or group) choreography that is performed in a very high level professional theater. The technique she teaches is far more sane than most highly technical classes that you find in ballet and modern dance. It preserves the natural function of the body strengthening and lubricating natural joint function, supporting a dancer's longevity, grace and self-care.
