Last night I went to The Horseshow Tavern and after getting to the bar I ordered a Shot of Tequila and a Dr. Pepper. I was told by the Bartender they had to put water in the shot of Tequila. I thought that was strange and I asked why? He said they just had to because of OLCC rules. I asked if I could have the water on the side and he said no. I said never mind; I will just take the Dr. Pepper. Later I made a post on the Prineville Information page on Facebook giving information out to the community so they do not waste their gas or time, "I went to the Horseshoe Tavern tonight and they water down their drinks, I will not be back". After this happened the normal happened on Facebook and I was attacked like I gave out false information, while so many were defending the bar stating the old owners were to blame for the state of Oregon making them add water to the hard liquor. I was litterly verbally attacked by people of this community, (NOT all of them). The next day the whole post was deleted, and I got a warning from the group admin. I did not realize this until a friend reached out to me with some screen shots of the owners threatening me, Cody and Chris Suing. They own The Horseshoe, Wranglers, and Sons of Beer. I cannot believe that the owners of this establishment would stoop to the level threatening me or any person for only posting the truth and only posting what they are apparently required to tell everyone asking for a shot. By the way, I cannot find anything stating the State makes Businesses water down their drinks. I will be calling the state on Monday. I will not go into their establishments again and any get togethers I have will be somewhere else. I would not recommend anyone going there, speaking the truth will get you threatened.

The Horseshoe Saloon is definitely more of a dive bar but that is just the way we like em. We arrived here on a Sunday morning, driving around town looking for somewhere to have breakfast that also had patio seating. They have a huge patio so there was absolutely no problem. We entered to a clean bar with tables off to the side with some people that had just arrived for dinning as well. We ordered some drinks at the bar then went out to the patio to look at our menus. We had our choice of any table! They also have lots of umbrellas outside at the tables which is nice cause it was sunny. We enjoyed our bloody Marys and coffees and then ordered some food. The breakfast menu is simple but if you are expecting some spinach avocado eggs bene go somewhere else. We ordered an omelette and a biscuit gravy plate. The food came out after a bit and we enjoyed about half of our food because they did not skimp on the portions. I had another beverage then we paid and went on our way. The bartender working was a young blonde woman who was so friendly and seemed to be working really hard. We appreciated her service.

    Outside seating and music stage!

Small portions of Food Services frozen hash browns. Gravy on biscuits almost devoid of sausage. Nothing wonderful at all. Oh, the coffee. Absolutely awful. One older gentleman contented himself with a coke. Food left on the counter not being picked up . Anyways .... It's a bust. Hope they become professional servers and don't discuss yesterday's 'take' in front of customers. I am not interested in overhearing two women discussing this. When asked how we enjoyed our breakfast, I said it was ok but we loved and missed the fresh hash browns. That there used to be sacks of fresh potatoes in the hallway. The waitress said, "there were sacks of potatoes in the hallway? They grated their own potatoes? I'll have to check into that ..' What? I said, vyes there were. Everybody knew it. The restaurant was full when we visited but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. It seats about 35. One couple caught our attention & said "We're almost done!", which kind of reflected the ambiance of the whole place! We also noticed during our visit, that as the tables emptied one by one, people would stop at 2 or 3 tables on their way out to greet their friends. A very happy place! There was only 1 cook & 1 waitress who were both pros at handling the load. They loved their job which is a huge + for their guests! FOOD: It was all very good. But when Sharrah brought my "1/2" order of Sue's Cafe Breakfast, I said "I think this is the FULL order right?". She just laughed & said "Nope"! COFFEE: Well, I have to agree with some other reviews that it's pretty weak but not a deal breaker for this entire experience. Give them a try. Be prepared to wait a bit. You'll be glad you did. Plus you'll be very full! They're in a shopping center right next to Ray's grocery store.

When hubby found this restaurant, it was where we turned around last night, I couldn't believe, we didn't come here sooner, instead we went to another restaurant, and ended coming back here. (That's what happens, when you search and new in town). Flowers hanging on the front porch, and first impression display as you walked inside, got me! The plague on the wall, as you wait to be seated, all signs, we picked a good finale night to spend dinner. This time, we ordered what each wanted: Hubby ordered Prime Rib, thin sliced with side dish Wild Rice Pilaf. I ordered the Cod Dinner with side dish Bacon Pepper Green Beans. We shared a salad. And a complimentary Molten Lava Cake, with a candle on it. Thank you, Danielle! Only negative that I found? This is Prineville, Oregon, why butter from HOUSTON, TX? Is Oregon butter, not good enough, for Prineville? Also: After three nights, three restaurants, there's always the same Clam Chowder, do they get their supplies from one source, or are they from Texas, too!
