My wife and I rolled into town late in the evening and were looking for dinner. Our research showed most places closed at 8 pm (it was Thursday). We decided to head for a grocery store. As we were driving down the road, my wife yelled out "turn here, there's a tap house there." We pulled in and walked in at 8:15. The bartender mentioned they close at 9 and last call is at 8:45. We ordered drinks and food and settled in. Nice looking place. TVs everywhere. Inside and covered outside areas. A fire pit. The food came quickly. My French Dip was huge and tasted good. My wife had nachos (she eats gluten free). The beer menu is long (50 taps), and they also have ciders and mixed drinks. The service...friendly and helpful. We will add this to the "must visit" list for future trips. read more

I really like this place. They have an excellent selection of beers on tap, and the free basket of peanuts is awesome. Plus the burger truck outside is fantastic. Nice atmosphere, friendly people, a real locals hangout. read more

The place received 3 stars for two reasons. First the diet Pepsi was flat. Second the system expects a tip when you order your drinks at the bar and carry them to your table. You are expected to bus your own table when done. In my view if most of the work is dine by the patron then why tip? read more

Still our favorite taphouse in Central Oregon. We make the trek from Bend for the French Dip. It is definitely and by far the absolute BEST in Central Oregon. In fact, the best I have ever had anywhere! The beer selection is well balanced and always offers a wide variety of great craft beers. Add to that "Locals Night" every Tuesday from 4-8pm plus an owner that is dedicated to customer satisfaction and it's no wonder why this place has survived and thrived since it's opening 6 years ago. read more

This is a great place to hang for an ice cold brew, with many selections of beers. They also have cider. The food is actually very good considering it's not a full kitchen like a restaurant. We'll definitely be going back. read more

Didn't get any beer, just needed a quick bite in the area. Kinda seemed like they weren't interested in our business... maybe I caught them on a bad day! I got the wrap, was not good. Took a long time for our food to get to us. Hate to leave a negative review. read more

So sad! We used to love this place and stop by once or twice a week. They recently put a "Your face your choice" sign on the door referring to masks. Our family takes our health and safety with regards to COVID very seriously, so will not be spending any money here again. We have a lot of respect for businesses and owners who are acting responsibly and keeping our neighbors and community safe through this mess, so are very disappointed with their ignorant stance on this. read more

Rimrock is great and one of our go-to places to grab a pint. The beer is always good, the staff is friendly and quick and the hummus plate is a reason to visit. We also really like that it's dog friendly and doesn't allow minors. Every other tap house/brewery in Redmond allows minors, and it's nice to have a place to bring our senior dog where we don't have to worry about children running up to her. read more

One of my past favorites, :(. Chicken quesadilla I just had contained about a teaspoon of chicken. Don't know if its a new cook or change in management but really poor choice to compromise quality of the food. Also no more peanuts. Peanuts and beer, they were going great...sad deal. Won't go back unless they return the food quality. Good bye to what was a special place. Letting all our friends know of the change. :( read more

Our go to place in the past cause they had food not from a trailer in the parking lot. Closed at 10pm on a Friday ????? Business lost! Last call at 9:50 when we walked in. Place smelled like bleach. Tables were still packed with people and more coming in the door. Customers turned away right at 10, music turned off and the atmosphere switch quickly to "get out"! read more

Stopped in for a beer to see what the good reviews were all about. Lots of choices on tap. They tout tapas on their website and this is true. The options range from flatbread pizzas to nachos to chips and salsa. Not a lot of options but it's obvious if your there you're there to drink and watch football if it's on. It's a cool spot with outdoor seating, a year round fire place and garage door wall for open summer drinks. For just an accidental stop off, not a bad place. This wouldn't be the place if you want quiet taking space (not a date night option dudes!), and service can feel a little spotty (there were 4 on and I had to go to the bar for a drink and wait while they did....not sure what was going on. But they were nice so that makes up for it). read more

The service was very nice and the tap selection was quite good. We had the hummus plate and it was outstanding with a nice assortment of sides like artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and really really fresh flat bread. I would definitely go again if in the area. read more

WOW! This tap house is amazing!! I wish they had one in the Bay area. Over 50 West Coast and regional beers are on tap, along with a small selection of wine. the staff is very friendly staff and lets you taste as many beers are you want before ordering a pint. They sell a small selection of pub bites (I wish they had at least one salad) and free peanuts and pretzels. There is a dog friendly outdoor patio as well as seating indoors. It was such a great find that I stopped in twice on my recent trip to Redmond. read more

One of my favorite places in town for beer and good food. They have an Japanese kitchen (food truck) parked outside the Taphouse and make additional pub food inside. They have many TVs (great for sports) and a huge tap list of craft beers and wines. I would definitely recommend them! read more

This is a neat place. We have passed it so many times and we finally stopped in. They have all kinds of beer (naturally), and a few menu items. We had the stuffed jalapeño pretzel. Cannot recommend a establishment that has no regards for the safety of their community's health. While you may think wearing a mask is a personal choice, I think not wearing a mask is a selfish choice. And it's sad....food cart was awesome and beer selection first rate. read more

I fell outside of their facility as I arrived. I came in bleeding and in tears. The girl offered me a paper towel. I suggested a wet one to wipe the blood off and some ice. I was appalled at their lack of concern for my injury. There was no accident report taken and no apologies for the lack of yellow paint on a curb that you have to step down in order to enter the building. We decided to stay because I needed to rest and ice my leg, plus we just drove 200 plus miles to get there and we were starved. I ordered the chicken wings and they came out cold as ice. No apologies again. They were defensive about them getting a new stove and could care less that I just bit into cold chicken. I've tried emailing and calling the owners but no answer back. Maybe this will get their attention. My knee is still in pain from this. read more

Normally when I drink at home I'm doing so for the less expensive version of treating myself . But when I go to a Taphouse and pay premium for an imperial and then am expected to tip the lady behind the bar for pouring it and then she pours a beer that should have been in a snifter into a plastic cup ya very disappointing and gouache. They said the dishwasher was broke but whatever I'm sure they could have managed. Anyway didn't want to feel like a beer snob but when I go to a potential classy Taphouse please don't pour a plastic cup half full because I'm coming to your place to treat myself read more

I rarely complain when I visit restaurants as I try to do my due diligence before I go. I spoke with the waitress, manager and one other lady who came by to check on me. I was told they could bring me some more tomatoes, etc. However, the dish should have contained sufficient ingredients to warrant its description which it didn't. Pasta is one of the cheapest mainstays in the restaurant business, but The Open Door's pasta dish took this to a whole new low. As for the baguette, I was given four tiny half slices of bread and not a baguette. In hindsight, I would have been better served going to the Sisters Smokehouse and Deli and ordering their Tri-Tip Sandwich - which is delicious BTW- than wasting my $ here at The Open Door.

We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.

Normally a 5-star but the two of the bartenders today (Sunday 3pm) are terrible. They work infrequently. A woman who wears overalls and a guy who I believe also cooks. There were two other guests at the bar w beers. I sat down and wasn't greeted for 5 min even tho the guy was directly in front of me putting glasses away! 'Overalls' was counting tips and chatting. The third bartender finally acknowledged me but did a chore in the back before emerging to take my order. Meanwhile the other two were in lala land. I'm usually not hypercritical of service having spent 25 years as a restaurant/brewpub Owner/GM but this crew is consistently poor. Never a hello, "welcome in" greeting and no smile from Mr. Grumpy. But he did have the time to chastise me for not using the tin bucket for my peanut shells on one occasion. No one walks the floor picking up empties and upselling. I'm sure you'll check the cameras. I leave this feedback only bc as a former owner, I know the little things matter. All of the other bartenders are awesome and even remember my name.
