We came in for my daughter's 21st birthday. The waitress had an attitude and was rude. They were busy (as they always seem to be), and it was probably 90 degrees in there, but we were patient and friendly. Wish it could have been reciprocated. My daughter and her friends made several comments about it and she felt more like an inconvenience than a paying customer. Some of the food was decent, but I heard a few complaints among our party. They do make pretty good drinks, but given the service issues I constantly have there, I won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

Food was good the few times we have eaten there. But the service is lacking to me, while unless you're a local or playing the lottery. I get it, you now the folks and the are there more than us. But leaving a $70 tab for two with lunch and two drinks to sit for close to 15 minutes waiting for there check is bad customer service. I gave them a four because our first two times there, food and service was pretty good. And I'm hoping the third time the bad food was just a fluke. We heard how good the prime rib was so we finally made our way back. Worse prime rib I've ever had. The meat was so tough we could hardly chew it. I kept telling myself that they just managed to get a bad prime rib. But I've had a lot of prime rib, and have cooked a few. None were anywhere close to being this tough. I just can't help but believe that between the prep of the meat to the plating of it, someone, especially the chef, didn't notice how tough it was. And it shouldn't have been served. Everything is wonderful and homemade! You won't regret stopping here! We ordered blue cheese burger, chili, Cesar salad, gyro and onion rings. Everything was fresh and were told they make their bacon, homemade Cesar dressing (best I've ever had), age their steaks, and smoke their brisket. I forgot, if you love onion rings, you must order these! So delicious and tasty. Not greasy and wonderful flavor. Local hangout also good for family lunch. There were half a dozen folks at the bar, but also plenty of seating on the restaurant side for a large family group heading south to Bend, OR. Our party had five adults and three children (12, 10 and 9). The server was sweet to the kids and overall attentive to the table. Service was quite good. The sandwiches were VERY good. Burgers and BLT's were highly satisfying. Clam chowder was more of a potato chowder, but edible. Onions rings were fresh. Mushrooms on burger were freshly sautéed (NOT from a can). My family and I first stopped at the Desert Inn on our way to Three Rivers to have a bite of lunch. We were warmly greeted by bartender/waiter Jeremiah. He took our order and we received our meal in no time. The granddaughter enjoyed the kids chicken strips and our adult meals were very good as well. On our way back home we decided to stop by again as my family was so impressed by Jeremiah and the food. We were happy to see that Jeremiah was working and again he greeted us warmly. The waitress that waited on us (as Jeremiah was tending bar) was just so sweet and very attentive. Our food once again was delicious. It has a family friendly atmosphere and I would recommend to anyone to stop by for an all around great experience. P.S. Thank you to the gentleman (possibly the owner) who brought some color books to our table for our granddaughter to use as we were able to finish our lunch. read more

Not a great experience. My girlfriend and I went there to watch a football game last weekend. The establishment is a small one, fairly low-end but homely (as you'd expect to see in a small town of 500 people), essentially a two-parter: the first half is a bar like you'd expect (though nicely lit with windows) that's open to the other: a tavern/inn of sorts that's filled with a couple of pool tables, a few finding tables and chairs with some other tables and chairs stacked up along one wall. Kind of like a multi-use room. Almost like an after-thought. We decided to sit in the back room because there were more fans and we didn't feel like sitting in the bar area, though it was quiet and clean...just that it was cold and the TV was up in the corner between two windows with a lot of sunlight that made it hard to watch. The only table available in the back was a small one with tie hard chairs next to the wall near the kitchen door. Three TVs back there, one playing our game. There were a couple of families with some kids there. Noisy but not in the way a sports bar fan would expect. I'm sorry but kids don't belong in a bar, even if it's some back room "dining" area that is only separated from the bar by the air we breathe. Anyway, it was cold and drafty in there as well. I noticed most of the other people were wearing jackets. At one point the back door to the outside, which was across the way from us, was left open for a long time and cold air was filling the room until another patron shut it. The beers were good, albeit spendy. We expected that. Asked for an order of buffalo wings. Got a small plate with something like six, maybe seven SMALL wings (I mean they were tiny), small pieces of celery that-as we found out- were two 2"-3" pieces split into small strips (apparently LOOKED like a big serving of celery in the darker room?) and a container of ranch dressing. Certainly NOT worth $7. My girlfriend, who has worked in a restaurant, was disgusted with the paltry serving. The food taste was mediocre. My girlfriend went to the restroom. It was a while before she got back. When she did, she told me she had a word with the owner/manager of the establishment. She was nice to compliment him on the environment (being polite, really) but voiced her concerns about the food, particularly the portion and size on the wings. He said "well, they're not breaded" as the reason for them not being bigger. We both have had wings before and they were easily much bigger. And in larger portions. With lots of celery and carrots. For the same kind of money. I mean, the ONLY thing in abundance on the plate was the ranch dip. On top of that, they overcharged us 50¢ on the tab. Good thing we caught it. We're not going back...unless we absolutely HAVE to be on time for an important game and nothing else is available and ONLY for a beer or two. Sad thing is I've been there a few times before. The food and the environment were better then. Not sure why they've gone downhill. read more

The first time we walked in, we turned around and walked out. It was an out of control place that was also dirty. After six months and hearing it was under new management, we tried again....and again and again. Pete, the manager, has really turned this place around. The service is great (especially when Pete is working) and the place is as clean as you could expect for a middle-of-no-where-bar. In fact, it sets the bar for the surroundings areas. Often bellied up to the bar is the locals winding down for the day. There's pool, shuffle board, juke box, outdoor patio with horseshoes and gambling. The food is mostly typical bar food...then there's the fresh made pasta! It takes an extra 20 minutes once you order since the chef (yes, a real chef) makes it in-house. The fettuccine Alfredo is excellent! It starts with a typical green salad and then pasta with a side of fresh veggies and garlic bread. The serving of pasta is ridiculously huge. No worries, because they'll box it up for you. Definitely worth the stop! read more

We live not too far from here.. They have cut the portion of food they give you recently.. On ladies night (Tuesdays) special.. You get less food now & they charge the same price. Another night my husband & I shared their Special Mussels & fettuccine for $14.95. The sauce & mussels was great..But, was given a small amount of fettuccine.. Was told by someone who works there. They cut back on the amount of food they make up & serve. This is due too much food left over that had to be thrown out... They serve the same food at the same prices but less food.. We won't be eating there ever again. We will take our business to Madras instead.. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was my first time here visiting family in Oregon and the service was absolutely awful. We ordered our drinks and we then waited 30+ minutes until the server came back, we could not find her anywhere. When we told her we were ready to order she looked at us and said "yeah well I'm the only one here so you'll have to give me a minute" in a rude attitude. She then went to the kitchen and was screaming to one of her coworkers talking shit about us! We could clearly hear her! We then got up to leave and she come out and yells "sweet!"
