The prices for most items are competitive with big box stores-- items like PVC pipe, wood filler, and hardware are cheaper at Altadena Hardware in a side-by-side comparison to big box stores. If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. They also sell local honey up at the cash register! Altadena Hardware is my first choice for hardware needs!

I had already been waiting for quite a while, and only two cashiers were working. He walked over to a third register, and it appeared he was opening it. He made eye contact with me several times, so it was clear he knew I was waiting. After about five minutes, he motioned to a gentleman who arrived after me and took him first. There was no way he didn't realize the order of the line. After assisting that customer, he finally looked up and told me he could help me at his register. At that point, I declined -- the situation was handled poorly, and I was frustrated. I won't be returning to this location. For contrast, the Ace Hardware in La Crescenta is consistently professional, friendly, and a pleasure to shop at.

I called a local plumber and got the water heater installed for $300 parts and labor. My previous water heater was a Bradford White that was over 20 years old. This water heater produces Hot Water very amazingly quick!!! This water heater gets 5 Stars. Here's the -1Star part of this review I contacted the Home Depot installation company they wanted $1100 plus $192 for a permit. I don't need NO DAMN Permit their contractor's is a freaking damn ripoff. Do they think I have a Money Tree that I can put off $1100 for Labor? They can go take a F-ing jump into a bottomless hole.

While my boyfriend was debating between a few different options, I wandered around the nearby aisles and the checkout area. They definitely know how to tempt shoppers over there! I spotted some really cool table lamps on display and they also had a nice selection of house plants that caught my eye. The employees we encountered were also friendly, which made the visit feel welcoming even though we were just browsing for the most part. Even though I didn't end up buying anything this time, I was definitely tempted. Next time I come back I'd love to take some time to explore the garden section too. Between the decor, plants, and garden area, I can easily see myself returning to browse and maybe bring a few things home.
