I didn't expect much when I came here. I was in the area so I checked out Yelp, and this place looked promising due to its high rating. I ordered the Mita Mita combo, which comes with two hotdogs, chips and drink. For the hotdogs, I had the Brooklyn and the Texas Classic. The biggest gripe I had was the bun was soggy on my Texas Classic. They didn't use a special bun or sausage, so it was kind of a disappointment. The food was ok, but nothing I would go out of my way to get. Their is outdoor seating if you want to eat at the place. Maybe it was just the server I got, but maybe it's popular for people in the neighborhood, just didn't impress me.

It's so close by me, figured I give it a try. First off small parking lot but no worries past those gates that looks to be a storage, has more spots ahead. Second walking in a nice little cozy space, not much room and no seating inside. But there is two small tables out side if their not taken. Third you're asked how many hotdogs will you be ordering just so they can warm them up while you decide how you like your hotdogs. My thoughts, hands down great beef Hotdogs, love that snap on them when you bite into them, plus the toppings wow amazing! I would recommend this place for sure.

This place was super cute when you first enter. Me and my boyfriend were greeted with great service and even some background knowledge on how this place ended up in san antonio. Hot dogs were also pretty good would rate 8/10 ! Will definitely return again

A taste of New York! I love a great hot dog and this spot doesn't disappoint. They serve Sabrett links which have the snap you want in an authentic New York dog. The owner is a veteran and local. (Support your local everything!!!) Stop in for a quick lunch and give this spot a try! 2 Dogs, chips, and soda $7.00

Found this place and walk through the front door like whaaaaa!? I knew right off the bat this was my kinda place!!! With Rev Run on the wall and the owners tribute to his home, NYC, I knew I had found the spot!!! Got the perfect lunch meal with two dogs, chips, and a drink! The exact kinda lunch I been having for atleast the past decade but hadn't found a place in San Antonio yet. Well ICE LOCO has arrived at my new lunch destination! Thank you Mike and Shelby for the Manhattan, Brooklyn, watermelon soda, funions, and great conversation/environment!!! See you soon!!!

If you've ever been to NYC, hotdogs from carts are the business! To get that in San Antonio, is amazing. All the options with all beef franks, is perfect for anyone. If you like chinese food and spicy food, I highly recommend the china town dog. It comes with siracha sauerkraut, asian style hot mustard, topped with green and fried onions. I maybe missing something. But i got it with the spicy sausage and it hit the spot.

Hubby loves this place and so I finally decided to try it for lunch. It was a good lunch. Tried the Jalapeño Bomber and Fiesta dog and decided to get more to go for myself and mom. She enjoyed the Brooklyn and slaw and liked both. Fiesta has to be my favorite though and the pizza was surprisingly good. Great prices and for a dollar more you can upgrade to sausage.

Finally stopped here today for lunch to take a break from working remote. So glad we came in, food smelt so good. Small inside, so this is really place to order to go. The staff was nice and I think we met the owner that was so open, nice, and made us feel welcome! We will be here again to try something new!

It's been a few years since I've been by; so, I was truly looking forward to getting something. I chose The Brat & tots (plain). I was very happy with my choice. The gentleman greeted me immediately. I thought it would take me a minute, but, as I stated, I chose The Brat immediately. I'm a little high strung from my age, so people kinda chuckle. It's cute. I make me smile. They put the perfect amount of mustard on it too! See the photos, but it comes covered with cabbage & crispy fried onions. It is amazing. I was able to get a whole 1/3 of it eaten before my body shut down. Tot wise, they were hot & perfectly fried! I like to dip mine in ketchup, but they offer you various other dips as well. So, I got ranch cuz, um, of course. Also, I really like their soda brand. I can't remember it, but it's a dia de los muertos skull for the logo, but I love their roots beer, which was my beverage of choice today. It's really a nice little place to just come in & sit & enjoy a yummy hotdog alone, or with family/friends.

My partner and I went on a Sunday morning just after 11am and there were already people coming in to eat. It's popular for a reason! I've eaten here a few times and had a very consistently good time, but this review will be about my most recent visit. We visited on a rainy day, but luckily we were able to snag one of the inside tables, we ordered at the counter and our orders arrived very quickly. I got the Ratchet dog which is a beef dog with queso, hot Cheetos and fried jalapeños. Dogfather uses quality dogs and buns for all of their gourmet dogs. I found the Ratchet to be meaty, salty with just right amount of spice from the jalapeños. My partner got the Pop it like it's hot, but removed the jalapeños. This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.

FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Woohoo! Been looking for chili cheese fries and happened upon a review for this place boasting fries with a homemade chili so we HAD TO stop in tonight. THE LOCATION: on the very end of a string of businesses in a strip mall that I've never been in before, so that was cool. Lots of parking, that'll never be an issue. And right off the 410. THE MENU: Burgers, dogs, Mexi-style munchies and a variety of frozen dessert-type items like shakes, frozen fruit concoctions and Italian ice. THE STAFF: I wasn't overwhelmed with a warm welcome and smiles, at least from the guys. Lol! They should really work on that. There was a sweet gal who ran out our food orders and she was great. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

The cheesy tots were not that cheesy but the fries were delicious and everybody enjoyed their food. It was fresh tasty not overly salted. Service was great and they have an outdoor dining area and it was sunny and breezy almost a touch too cold, but it was too beautiful of a day to be indoors. Lots of parents with infants. They had some shot specials for Saint Paddy's day seven dollar Jamison shots no pickle backs, they have pineapple or orange juice shots to chase it. I wish they had a drive-through so I can try all their breakfast burritos in the morning. I just can't get motivated sometimes. Dog Haus Biergarten - Plenty of Potential in the Bandera & 1604 Area…read more With just about every sports bar packed on game night, we found ourselves looking for a last-minute spot to catch the Spurs game near the Helotes and 1604 area. Options can be surprisingly limited in this part of town, so we decided to give Dog Haus Biergarten a shot. First, credit where credit is due: the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a good experience. In fact, they went out of their way to get the Spurs game on for us, even working through streaming options to make it happen. That effort alone elevated the atmosphere and showed a level of customer service that deserves recognition. The food was solid and definitely delivered. No complaints there. If you're craving a quality hot dog, burger, or casual pub fare, Dog Haus does a good job of satisfying that craving. That said, I think there's room for growth especially with the bar program. The cocktail menu is prominently featured, which naturally raises expectations. I ordered an Old Fashioned that felt a bit watered down and lacked the balance and punch you'd hope for from a classic cocktail. The effort was there, but the execution could be refined. As for the sports bar experience, it feels like Dog Haus is close to being something special but hasn't fully embraced it yet. On a night during the NBA Finals, the place was only about 20% occupied. With the number of sports fans in the area, I would've expected a stronger game-day atmosphere and more preparation around major sporting events. Overall, Dog Haus Biergarten has a lot going for it: good food, great service, and a staff willing to go the extra mile. The foundation is there. I'd love to see them continue developing the cocktail program and lean more heavily into the sports-viewing experience because this location has the potential to become a go-to neighborhood gathering spot. Final Verdict: Good food, excellent service, and plenty of upside. Not quite the sports bar destination it could be yet, but definitely worth a visit--and I'm rooting for them to figure it out. Best Regards Texas Mozzer
