These are some pretty good hot dogs!! Stopped in for a quick lunch with my fiancé and was pleasantly surprised by the awesome vibe of this place. The diner is covered from floor to ceiling with baseball paraphernalia from stuffed teddy bears to family photos everywhere, complete with a couple of TV screens playing a some games. The two ladies at the register were extremely helpful in explaining the menu and offering recommendations when I was overwhelmed by all of the tasty sounding eats. We ended up settling on the Famous Italian Beef and a classic Chicago without onions. I managed to snag a bite of my fiancé's Chicago dog before he devoured it and it was absolutely delicious. The veggies were crisp and so juicy, and the bright green relish was absolutely delish. I ordered my Famous Italian Beef spicy instead of sweet, and while it was extremely delicious I wish I'd ordered it half and half it was just so hot! The peppers really gave this sandwich a spicy kick, and the shredded beef was so tender and yummy. I opted to have the dipping sauce in a cup on the side instead of having the sandwich dipped in it as per the other option thinking it would be a little less messy to eat, but I feel like I ended up in an equally as messy situation regardless! No regrets on my choice, but I'm still happy I sat close to a napkin dispenser lol. I'd absolutely love to return to try more from the menu. Lunch was great and I loved seeing my baseball fan fiancé geek out over all of the decor and absolutely gush over how authentic the Chicago vibes and tastes were. Thanks, Wrigelyville Grill, for making lunch a fun one!

I'm not the biggest fan of hot dogs, because it's a hot dog at the end of the day, but when we were in San Antonio, my husband got it into his head that this place would be amazing. It was not. I think what killed it for me was the service. Like, we are more than an hour away from closing and they already blocked off one side of the restaurant, cleaning it up and would tell people they were closing, forcing people to sit on barstools and others kinda trying to figure out who can get the last of the tables. It's stupid because had they not roped off the other side there would have literally been enough space for everyone. The food was just okay. It was interesting and different and the french fries with beef different, but not mind blowingly amazing. I think what turned me off the most was just how the people who worked their behaved. I had gone there to give them a chance and then they do the most. Plus they seemed to want us to order quickly and get out. Hey we're out of towners, we don't know. We might have questions...and your stupid restaurant is open for another hour. You would think it was closing time with the way they behaved. I'm not in the mood to come back here when I visit San Antonio again, but maybe my husband will drag me here. Otherwise, I am okay skipping this place in the future.

I had the Wednesday special for $13.99 that came with 2 Chicago style hotdogs, fries and a drink and it was delicious! The ambiance is Cubs themed and the service was great!

My wife and I had been discussing options for dinner before we got to San Antonio for a meeting, and this place had crossed our radar and seemed to be appealing to both of us, so we swung by. The place was still open for about an hour when we arrived, but it was clear that they were already starting to close up. The patio tables had already started to be packed up in a pile, so outdoor seating was out of the question. It was a bit warm, so that was fine. Unfortunately, as we were ordering, they were bringing in the patio furniture and obstructing the indoor dining, cutting off about half of the seating in the restaurant. The patrons, who clearly were in no rush to get food and left, packed in the remaining half of the restaurant, meaning the rest of us who were ordering were stuck at this... counter-like space along the wall. It was less than impressive. I've never had a Chicago hot dog before today, so I can't speak to whether it was authentic or not, but I can say that the food was mediocre at best. I've had better hot dogs at chain restaurants like James Coney Island in Houston. We'd ordered the gypsy fries to share, expecting something like what we'd had in Houston, where the fries are served on the bottom with roast beef debris and gravy on top. Instead, we got a bowl with dry roast beef piled on top of fries that had been soaked in au jus, meaning that they were wet and mushy, but had already soaked up enough juice that it was impossible to get the roast beef moistened. My wife and I were both underwhelmed by the experience. I don't think we'll ever be coming back here.

I absolutely LOVE this place! When I get homesick I come by and eat some wonderful food. While I've stuck with my favorites a Chicago dog or Italian Beef I decided to try the special for the day I visited which was a Gyro, salad, and drink and it did not disappoint. The salad was fresh and plentiful which could definitely be a meal in itself and the gyro was perfectly made as well. I'm so glad I went when I did because the owner made the specials an all day item. What can I say about the storefront other than it has my favorite team plastered everywhere and definitely makes me feel like I'm back in Chicago with my Cubs. I appreciate having a space that makes me feel like I'm home. Service is always great and the restaurant has wonderful space.

So, I don't like hot dogs. BUT, I like Wrigleyville's hot dogs. It's more than just a hot dog. It's a way of life. Either way, we came here a little too late at night and the workers were still absolutely kind and quick. Our food came out absolutely lovely and tasty as ever. Really good. Also the restaurant was very tidy. Id love to go back any day now.

Listen... I'm a vegetarian, and I've been a vegetarian for about a year but a hotdog from Wrigleyville is worth it. I'm not a fan of Chicago sports teams but I do love their hotdogs. The small-ish restaurant is fully decked out in Chicago decor, which looks great. And despite the size, there's surprisingly enough seating. The service was great too. Food was quick and after we ordered at the register, they brought us our hotdogs. I'd definitely go back.

I'm no Chicagoan but I truly enjoyed this place! I love me a good dog. My favorite pizza puffs by far too. The service was swift and the girl was very nice and attentive. Great service, great food, great atmosphere.

This place was my go to place to eat at with my friends and I finally showed my girlfriend and her siblings and they fell in love. The flavor is always there and the vibes are great! Also if you have been to wrigley field they might put your photo up on the wall. The service was great especially since we came thirty minutes before close and took us in with open arms.

If you know, you know. I lived in Chicagoland for 15 years. I ate real Chicago Tavern Style pizza, not the tourist stuff, the neighborhood stuff. The kind you argue about, swear by, and judge everything else against. Wrigleyville Grill in San Antonio gets it right. Period. The crust is thin, crispy, and packed with flavor. Not floppy. Not bland. It has that snap that makes Tavern Style what it is supposed to be. The cheese is legit, melted just right, and they do not skimp. The Italian sausage is bold and flavorful, the pepperoni is generous, and every bite tastes intentional. This pizza means business. The place itself is small and not fancy at all, which is exactly the point. It feels like a Chicago hot dog joint you would stumble into after work or on a Saturday afternoon. No nonsense. No gimmicks. Just good food. They serve all the Chicago classics, and the people running the place are exactly who you want behind the counter. Family-run, genuinely nice, grateful you are there, and they hustle to make sure you are taken care of. The service is fantastic, full stop. Here is the truth. If you are from Chicago and living in San Antonio, this place will make you smile. If you love Chicago food but cannot get it here, this is your spot. If you think good pizza only exists north of I-80, Wrigleyville Grill will change your mind. This is a must-visit!

The first night I was greeted by a friendly host and sat at the bar, where Billy took great care of me. He recommended the Cotto e Salsiccia, and I'm so glad he did. It was easily one of the best pizzas I've had. While I was there, the cheesemaker let me try a bite of the fresh mozzarella they were making in-house. It was still warm and absolutely delicious. The next night I was feeling a little homesick after being away for work, and all I could think about was that pizza. I walked back in and the host greeted me by name. I sat at the bar again, where another bartender remembered me from the night before, and Billy came over just to say hi. It seems like such a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, being welcomed back like that can completely change your evening. What really impressed me was seeing that it wasn't just me. The guy next to me ordered two pizzas to go, and when the chef brought them out he smiled and said, "Oh, Jose! I thought this order looked familiar!" You can tell they actually know their regulars and genuinely enjoy what they do. The second night I ordered the Fontina e Salsiccia, and somehow it was just as good as the first pizza. Everything is cooked in the wood-fired oven--even the wings--and you can taste the difference. The crust has that perfect char, the ingredients are fresh, and it's the kind of authentic Neapolitan pizza that keeps you thinking about it long after you've left. I've eaten at a lot of good restaurants while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcome as Dough did. Great food is one thing. Great people are what made me come back the very next day. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Our waiter was…read moreincredibly attentive and took the time to explain the restaurant's philosophy: as many ingredients as possible are imported directly from Italy, and anything that can't be imported is thoughtfully sourced from local producers. That attention to detail definitely comes through in the food. I ordered the arugula salad with chicken, and it was outstanding. The combination of candied pumpkin seeds, creamy goat cheese, roasted beets, and balsamic vinaigrette was perfectly balanced, with every bite offering great texture and flavor. My friends ordered the pepperoni pizza and couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. Then came dessert... and I completely lost all self-control--in the best way possible. We ordered the affogato, tiramisu, torta di polenta, and the Nutella torta. Every single dessert was beautifully executed and absolutely delicious. If I had to pick favorites, the affogato and the Nutella torta were the standouts, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Excellent service, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and food that delivers from start to finish. I'll definitely be back!

The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.
