Thanks to one of Mom's nurses, we found Premier Placement Service, and the wonderful Jim Cassin to guide us in our search. He made a list of our requirements (preferred locations, availability of a private room, competent staff, clear budget range, etc) and prepared a list of possible care facilities. He accompanied us to several places, and acted as intermediary to others to facilitate our visits. Jim was a huge help, as well as compassionate and empathic. We found a lovely place for our mother in Benicia, a residential home care facility with a total of 6 "residents", home-cooked meals, and two around the clock caregivers. She has a large private room facing the back patio and a view of the hills, and is now settled in comfortably -- all within 2 weeks of her accident.
