We lived at The Hub at Scripps Ranch for 2 years and paid close to $4,000 a month for a 2 bed / 2 bath. The complex itself looks nice and the amenities are pretty, but management completely ruined the experience for us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Calling the office? Don't even bother. No one answers. We constantly had to email just to get basic responses.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When it was time to renew our lease, we went back and forth for over two weeks just trying to get clear answers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We dealt with Carlos Martinez and later Vivian Cruz.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After being there for two years, never late on rent, never causing issues, we expected some level of professionalism. Instead, it felt like we were just being pushed into higher pricing. By January rent was going up around $500, and a lot of families were moving out, including us. The community wasn't even fully rented, yet prices kept increasing. Security was another big issue. There are no security cameras on the property. We had multiple packages stolen and reported it. Nothing changed. At one point management actually emailed us asking for footage from our Ring camera because people were sneaking in and opening doors. They relied on residents' cameras because they didn't have their own footage. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were also accused several times of our dog barking excessively. The problem is... our dog does not bark. We adopted him from a shelter and his previous owner had his vocal cords removed. Being accused over and over of something that literally isn't possible was frustrating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The parking stickers are another story. They charge about $75-$115 per sticker. If you change cars or move out, you have to return it. The problem? The sticker rips when you remove it because it's cheaply made. Even if you bring back pieces of it, they still charge you for a replacement. They only allow two visitors at a time, which is hard if you have family. And they charge $350 to rent the game room and expect it spotless afterward. Most nearby complexes charge little to nothing. Now the positives -- because credit is due where it's deserved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cleaning staff were always kind and professional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And Adrian from maintenance was truly the best part of living there. He was respectful, quick to respond, and actually cared. Whenever we submitted a maintenance request, he handled it promptly and professionally. He was polite, explained what he was fixing, and made sure things were done right. If management operated the way Adrian does, this would be a completely different review. Unfortunately, management and policies made it not worth staying. read more

Since the beginning, their staff has been top notch. I was waiting until I finished my time here to give a final judgment and write a review but I do want to share my experience to warn other people. First of all, the leasing office never answers the phone or answers emails. You have to repeatedly call over and over to get a response. I have personally seen leasing staff laughing in the office and ignoring phone calls in the background . Parking is atrocious. My boyfriend stayed over one night with me and they towed his car and badly damaged it. This was before they even let anyone know about their policy for the retail lot. There were no signs indicating people couldn't park there. He was towed from a completely empty parking lot. They try to charge exorbitant amounts for guest parking now, and they try to nickel and dime people into buying a second parking spot. At one point, the door to my building was broken for an entire month before they fixed it, so I had to park and walk all the way around to get in every single day. At least half of my packages don't go to the right place. Lots of packages get lost. This is a big deal because I have a spinal condition and struggle to lift heavy things without risking my health. Packages would often arrive to the wrong building - sometimes to a building that is around a block away from where I actually live. Taking trash out is impossible if you have any disability at all. I injured myself trying to take out trash several times. The dumpster is too tall and half the time, there is trash piled up all around it, preventing you from safely even walking to it. I asked for help with this issue and they never offered it and instead told me I could just move out with a doctor's note. Not helpful! I moved out today and they want to try to charge me over five times what other apartments have for move outs (and I have lived in many places). By the way, I sent my move out notice to them in June, and they never even bothered replying. I had to send it a second time. Even after I did that, they failed to give me the option of an inspection to remedy issues as is required by California law. I was sent a form by Michael a few days before my move out (it is supposed to be two weeks!), quickly sent the completed form back, and STILL didn't get one scheduled or even get a response. When I moved out today, he asked "what could you have done anyway?" and dismissed my concern that they broke California law. So, in summary, please beware this place. They are out to take advantage of people and I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

Community in a serene hotel-like environment! I recently helped my friend move in to this jewel in Scripps Ranch. From the parking lot I could see a world-class gym and pretty pool but once we got inside the complex I found a beautifully appointed property where amenities abound. Never saw a jacuzzi so large! And, the club house! Then, I found they offer yoga, aqua and yoga sculpt. My friend is having a blast with their resident driven activities. Today I am headed over for their Super Bowl Party. This apartment complex deserves 6 stars. I have been living in the Hubb for over a year and wanted to update my review. The management team/the hubb continues to be underwhelming in terms of respect, professionalism, and courtesy. Michael the current manager is very rude and has very poor managerial skills. He continues to surprise me by how difficult he makes it for resident to live in peace. I just want to make it clear I would NOT recommend anyone to live here. The management team should learn some common decency. Also community events are rare and lack sustenance and the rent is very high given the accommodations and location. read more

I have lived in The Hub for just over a year and had negative experience with the management. The staff are rude and incompetent. For two months after moving out, they have not done the accounting for my move-out deposit and lost all paperwork I submitted to the office. I had to reach out to Sudberry Properties Vice President to eventually have my refund check processed because the office manager did nothing helpful. In addition, the move-out charges were double what the estimate that was provided. Overall, beware of moving to The Hub; the property is managed by Sudberry Properties which is not accredited by BBB. read more

I have been a resident at The Hub from the very beginning about two years now when the first apartments were listed for rent and let me just say I love living here . Although management was rocky at first , once they changed into the new management they have now and the staff its been the best . I have zero complaints . The Hub always has cleaning crew every single day cleaning the complex's common areas , maintenance is always around and helpful if needed, and management is very responsive . I like living here because it's a community of wealthy individuals and professionals who at the end of the day just want a nice and quiet place to live . The amenities are awesome , management is also always offering community events every single month, and we are kept updated of anything new happening on site . For example during Halloween , my bf and I enjoyed a pumpkin decorating, then they hosted treat day, then gingerbread house making day, then cooking with a chef hosted once a month . If there's one thing I would recommend is a designated pet relief area , but the complex does a good job of providing doggy bags to pickup after people's animals . Everyone at the complex seems respectful and I feel safe to be and live at the Hub. The hub offers privacy , fobs are required everywhere you go , and mail is usually dropped off in one place , and it's gated . Of course to live here is a hefty price tag . But it's luxury living that's worth it for peace of mind and tranquility. Keep up the good work Michael and the staff , to include maintenance. I don't think I'll be moving anytime soon . read more

I moved in here last year due to the housing crisis of the universities. This was the only apartment complex within a 20 minute radius that was relatively cheap and new compared to closer apartment complexes. It is really convenient that it is the halfway point between SDSU and UCSD and that you're less than a 5 minute drive away from the shopping centers. Anytime I've submitted a fix-it request the maintenance guys are quick to resolve it in a timely manner. The maintenance staff also does a wonderful job of maintaining the amenities and common areas clean. I've heard a lot of people complaining about the parking situation and how's there no street parking, however my roommate has been parking streetside (in a non towing zone), less than a 5 minute walk, for about 3 months now. Lastly, I'd like to thank Priscilla and Michael for making it an easier transition of moving from one apartment to another. They were super helpful in answering any questions I had about the application process and how to meet the qualifications. I also appreciate the amount of time they spent to make sure that I found an apartment that I would love. read more

So I posted about 6 months into my lease about this shitty ran and managed apartment. It is now 2 months after moving out. I revived a letter to which I thought would be my security deposit.. come to find out they charged me for all new carpets, a full repaint, and pet odor treatment in the unit. First of all I had the place professionally cleaned including the carpets before moving out. I also had a contractor come and touch up the walls where I had nails to hang. I never had a pet in the apartment....We paid $3500 for the deposit and when you move out they only claim you put down a $700 deposit. They are asking for an addition $450 for the rest of the "work" they had to do on the apartment. The nicest thing about this is I have called the hub 4-5 times since I got this letter over the weekend and there are no leasing agents to talk to me about this. read more

I had a terrible experience interfacing with Michael who is supposed to be the property manager! He has no idea what he is doing, very inexperienced and rude. Definitely needs many more years of training to be even qualified for such a responsibility. He also needs training in how to deal with people and stop being so impolite and rude. And there is Pricilla whom I have no idea how she got into this line of work! Must have some connections somewhere in the company. I would not rent from the HUB as long as these two people are in charge. I will make sure other people are aware of the situation and don't deal with Michael and Pricilla! read more

Management at this complex is absolutely terrible. We lived here for a whole year and constantly had problems. Once we moved out it was again was more problems . We contacted them on multiple occasions on move out procedures and never got answers back. Even after we moved out we contacted them regarding deposit , things owed etc. it was only until a whole month after we heard something. There is never consistent staff so many times it when they would answer it would be "sorry we are new. I need to ask my boss" and would never receive a response back. We met multiple people that were moving the exact same time we were and they shared the same complaints we had. Don't get me wrong the amenities are nice, but only if you are there to enjoy them. i swear the leasing office employees act like they get paid to ignore emails. i have to follow up 2-4x before they respond to any email sent to them and even then, theyre not that helpful. if i'm paying luxury prices for a luxury apartment, i also expect luxury customer service even though responding to an email is just basic customer service. i used to actually like the leasing employees when i first lived here but it seems like there was a huge turnover in the past few months. the employees that worked in the leasing office during the beginning of my lease actually responded to my emails/inquiries. now, all of my emails are left unanswered/unacknowledged if i dont follow up multiple times. read more

I recently moved in here to the Hub from Mission Valley with my 3 other roommates and it has been amazing! Any issues that I have get fixed within at least 48 hours of my request (usually it's the same day) and they're usually super small things. The staff here is so respectful and helpful! The maintenance is on it all of the time. The area itself is so amazing. You really get what you pay for here! Everything is brand new and amazing and it's definitely worth the price! UPDATE: Parking is a big problem at this apartment complex but i found a solution, i bought an additional car so thay way i can drive to my car down the street to get into my other car . I know it sounds ridiculous but it was cheaper than paying $13k to get out of my lease. read more

Beautiful place to live but the parking situation is ruining it for us. We have four people in our apartment and when we signed our lease we were told we would be provided with three parking spaces, and that we could pay $150 a month for an extra one. We agreed to this, however, after moving in we were told that we didn't need to buy an extra spot and we could use the retail parking out front. Now the retail parking doesn't allow overnight parking, so now two of our cars have been towed. Costing us $600 in total!!!! This would all be fine if there was street parking available near the complex, however there is none. There is only other business parking lot which all have signs that say they will also tow. Management has been no help and continues to tell us to "make accommodations", whatever that means. I'm not sure why they decided to build an apartment complex with more tenants then parking spaces. I'm also not sure why the retail parking is towing even though none of the businesses are open yet, which was part of their sales pitch for signing the lease. Overall would not recommend living at the hub because of this. read more

Great apartments with great maintenance and office staff. New apartments so I really haven't had any issues, but the couple times I called for maintenance, it was handled quickly and resolved. The apartment itself is nice and spacious. The grounds are well maintained and clean. Pool and hot tub are very nice and kept clean. I have never seen a cleaner apartment complex. I really appreciate the people who maintain the grounds and clean. These apartments are in a Great location right off the I-15. Trader Joe's, dining options, shopping and many other stores are less than 5 mins. There were issues with package deliveries last year when I moved in but that has been resolved for the most part. The only issue I have had here is parking, they have a huge problem with too many apartments/tenants and not enough spaces to accommodate. There is no convenient street parking near the apartments. They have recently added more visitor parking spots. I will say that the office staff is working diligently to resolve an issue that is nearly impossible. I appreciate their efforts. read more
