Normally, my visits here are decent enough. But today was different. I could give a long story about what happened, but I'll keep it short and simple. No premium coffee stop should ever hand a customer a can in this condition.

This place is amazing!! The baristas were so nice and made me a drink off menu called a snickers! It was super good and not overly sweet which I appreciated.

Stopped at this drive through coffee stand before taking off from Bend to go home. Seems to be many choices both hot and cold, and a few snacks that are rather less than what I'm used to, such as "muffin tops" (I know, it sounds funny or even silly, but that's exactly what it is!). I ordered a hot "snowy" mocha (Human Bean's own spin on a white mocha) along with an orange cranberry muffin top. Well balanced flavors in the mocha, albeit possibly on the sweet side for some (but I'm a fan of sweets, so hence the disclaimer). And muffin tops seem to work much better in a mobile situation, as you can take bites right out of the bag and you don't have so many crumbs falling about. Friendly and helpful service--the gal working the stand was wearing a Santa Cruz top, so I give her props for that. ;-)

Breve latte can't be beat. It isn't the closest coffee available but I make the longer trip because it is worth it!

It's very conveniently located within walking distance to the rest of downtown Bend. It can get pretty packed, and seating isn't always guaranteed, but if you have time to hang around, the atmosphere is well worth experiencing. There's a bar-style seating area where locals seemed genuinely settled in, giving the shop a true neighborhood feel. I ordered a large Belgian Mocha, which was rich in flavor while not being overly sweet. The espresso was definitely still there, so the drink was beyond just a dessert vibe. Service was friendly and efficient, with my drink ready in just a few minutes despite the crowd. Overall, this is a lively downtown coffee spot best suited for those who want quality drinks and don't mind a local crowd.

Additionally, our barista gave us a coupon for a free 12oz drink because it took more than five minutes for us to get the breakfast sandwich, it didn't seem like a long time to me but that is just good service. The music was tasteful and not too loud which helped cultivate the calm and pleasant ambiance. The pastries were delightful, so good in fact that I was unable to get a photo due to my inability to delay taking a bite as soon as we sat down. We had the ham and gruyère croissant and the plain croissant. The breakfast sandwich was great; the homemade English muffins were dense but not heavy, the bacon was perfectly thick and crispy, the egg was well done, and the pesto mayo tied it all together. The Latte was solid, I regret not trying the syrups which I found out were homemade after I had ordered, it seemed as though everyone who ordered after me got the cardamom syrup in their drinks. My girlfriend got the hemp milk latte, unsweetened. She is a matcha snob and was pleased with her order, which is a rarity for coffee forward places such as Thump. Stop at Thump if you're in Bend.
