However when she handed my coffee through the window, instead of giving me my change, she plunked it all in the tip jar. That was a $2.75 tip on a $2.25 cup of coffee. What the? If you ever wondered what a dollar store version of Starbucks's Nitro Cold Brew tasted like, and also wanted to spend 7 dollars on one just for good measure then this is the place for you! Without a doubt the worst coffee I've ever had and the best part is that the Nitro brew wasn't even cold! Didn't make a difference considering it tasted like shit. Absolutely pitiful. I'm glad Wilsonville opened a coffee shop that isn't a Starbucks. There are 4! And it's the only drive thu coffee in town besides fast food coffee. I really like The Human Bean and they just sent out free 16 oz. coffee coupons to nearby residents which made me like them even more. I usually get a vanilla latte or mocha but this time I tried a Java Chip Granita and it was really good as well. It has Godiva chocolate - oh yes ;) They also include a chocolate covered coffee bean which is a nice touch. My favorite coffee place is Dutch Bros but there isn't one in Wilsonville so Human Bean will do. Better than burnt overpriced Starbucks any day! read more

Human Bean is great - the Wilsonville location is the BEST! I work nearby so I stop in often and have never been disappointed. Great drinks with really great customer service. Everyone that works there is super friendly. Love that they have late hours for when your in the mood for coffee at night. My daughter loves the kid smoothies. To be honest, the drip coffee at The Human Bean is awful.. HOWEVER - The Americanos are perfection! I was shocked when I tried the espresso drinks instead of my normal go-to, drip coffee. At every coffee shop I go to I always order my drinks the same. Medium iced latte in a bigger cup with extra ice. Apparently this location can only do that if I pay $3 extra for the one size larger cup. I don't mind paying a-little for the cup.. but $3! Terrible experience. We got three drinks through the drive through before road trip. One caffe latte without sugar, a regular coffee, and a dirty chai with soy. We later realized both drinks were wrong. The latte was a mocha with sugar. The chai tastes like milk and water. No chai at all, and they used regular milk instead of soy milk. We stumbled upon this place in our venture to try to find coffee that isn't Starbucks. Starbucks is fine, trust me, I have kept them in business for many years. However, we prefer a little less sugary in our coffee and a little less burn flavoring our beans. So, we gave the Human Bean a try. Love the drive through concept, the little chocolate covered espresso bean with each order and the smiling service everyday. We are fans and will continue to patronage this great place. My fave drink is an Iced Chocolate Macadamia Breve! I have also tried their Nitro drink. WOAHHHHHH, that drink is not for the faint of heart. I have never left a review on yelp. Generally if I am displeased with a meal or restaurant, I just make a point to not eat there again, and if it was bad enough, I share my experience with friends. Well, there's a first for everything. And having just left about 20 min ago, I can't even postpone my need to leave a review. My friend and I are currently on a road trip, and exited the freeway looking for coffee and some food. There was the Human Bean, a bright beacon screaming promises of coffee better than Starbucks and the knowledge to create a proper espresso drink. Boy did I learn how deceiving looks can be. All around, this was a horrible experience. The 12oz double shot Americano tasted like coffee flavored water...indicative of the lack of knowledge concerning the science behind pulling a proper espresso shot. And the salad?! Wow. You'd think with a menu like that, and the prices of everything, you're going to get a top notch quality product. Think again. I ordered the Kale Caesar, and if it weren't for my refusal to waste food, or money, I would've tossed the thing after the first bite. Instead I forced down as many bites as I could, and rinsed the awful taste I out of my mouth. The dressing was most definitely not a Caesar, and full of citric acid that made the entire salad taste like pinesol, and even the lemon was covered in some sort of preservative. At $8 for a salad, which is only a few dollars lower than a gourmet salad at your average restaurant, I don't think I've ever felt more disappointed or taken advantage of. If it's convenience I'm paying for, I now know that if I ever pass through this area of Oregon again, I'll most certainly be going to Starbucks...my usual last resort. After checking out your website, I realize now why the service and the product were so terrible. It's a corporate franchise. Need I say more? This just drove home the fact that your consumers are being taken advantage of...clearly your finest quality ingredients are the finest quality in the lowest cost bracket, produced in a factory, and marked up by 300%. Seeing as you have 63 locations across the country, you're producing a high quantity of prepackaged salads and sandwiches...which calls for the need of preservatives. So thanks a heap for reminding me to be skeptical of any business offering 'healthy' and 'fresh' options for those looking for them in the midst of fast food drive thrus and gas stations. If I hadn't hopped right back on the road after driving through to continue my 12 hour drive, I would have turned around to get a refund. But considering I didn't even receive a 'thank you' for the 20% tip or a 'have a nice day' after receiving our items, it's hard for me to fathom being provided the customer service to make up for such a bad experience. Having been a fan of The Human Bean in Colorado, I was very happy to see a location in Wilsonville. I'm not a fan of fancy coffee drinks and Starbucks is disgusting to me, but Human Bean was excellent - smooth but rich and pleasant. My order was a large cinnamon-vanilla coffee with cream. Which is what my husband and I ordered, along with an Acai smoothie for him. The girl taking our order asks, "Latte?"... No, coffee. "With whipped cream?" No, just cream. "Do you want that hot?" Umm it's supposed to be hot, it's coffee. "What size?" LARGE. "Do you want whipped cream on the smoothie?" NO. We finally got the order, my husband told me to check it, foolishly I didn't, I just wanted to GO. Got it back to our hotel room, opened the cup... had a plain latte. No cinnamon, no vanilla, that horrid foam junk on top. Avoid this location, I will never be back. read more

I really wanted to be a fan of this place. After several months, and several dozen trips to this stand, I've lost faith. Although I still find myself giving these guys chance after chance because I do like the taste of their drinks a lot better than Starbucks. But the truth is the service is pretty damn bad here. The girls are really nice but frequently make the wrong drinks. Don't bother going if there is a long line or if there are multiple drinks in your order, the more busy they are the more likely it is that they'll mess it up. They seem to not have a system for actually writing down your drink order, they just seem to rely on their memorization, and more often than not, they memorize it wrong. I have gone back a couple times when they give me the wrong drink, and they're always apologetic and make a new one for free, but it's getting old quick. I don't want to spend 20 minutes ordering a drink, paying for my drink, driving away from my drink, just to get to work and realize I arrived with a completely wrong drink, so I need to go back and get the right one. My advice to this particular human bean is to actually have a system for recording drink orders. Also, why is this is it that my same drink I get every time is always a different price? I always get a 20z hazlenut latte, sometimes it's $2.95, sometimes it's $3.50, sometimes it's $4.95, sometimes it $5.70...? The whole operation just seems super chaotic and unorganized. The only time I can stand to go anymore is when there is absolutely no one in line, and no one else with me. They can handle one drink order at a time, and that's about as far as the competency goes. Let's be honest, I'll probably still continue going here, because there isn't a Peet's closeby, but I really hope they step it up and find a way to stay organized. read more

Great service but the coffee is terrible. I normally do not leave reviews, but the espresso tastes like dirt on most drinks. All the other locations have consistent taste and quality, but this one is really bad. I've thrown away 6/8 of my last drinks.
