This was my first time trying a dessert from Lux Sucre, and wow, this was the best cake I have ever had. I purchased a cake for my mom's 74th birthday. She picked out the flavors: poppy seed, raspberry, and almond cake. It was not artificially sweet; instead, it was smooth, subtle, and blended. The service was excellent as well. Everyone was very polite from the time I called to order the cake until I picked it up. I did not give them very much notice, but they still made it happen, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, a great place and a very important community gathering spot for Wilsonville (and Charbonneau, in particular), which is in desperate need of such places. The baked goods are to-die-for. The cinnamon rolls, in particular, are delicious. They serve Flag-and-Wire Coffee out of McMinnville and sell bags of its whole beans on site. The sandwiches and soups are very solid. Usually, a half-sandwich and soup is plenty for me. Unfortunately, the owners have added a ton of tchotchkes (Yiddish word; look it up!) to the store, which just clutters the appearance and looks tacky. They are also now selling chips in the bag (Lays, Dorito's, etc.), go-gurts, etc., which again is not very classy looking. So just avert your eyes to all of that and focus on the baked goods. I also appreciate that the place invests in its space; it is now building a new outdoor seating area in conjunction with the landlord. They clearly care about offering a good place to eat (albeit with some visual clutter). read more

This is such a charming place. The staff work hard and are super friendly. We tried their sparkling wine cooler cans, wished they were locally sourced, but still a great drink option. We split a spinach and cheese tart which was super tasty. We arrived around 2:45 so unfortunately their lunch was already over and they only had one savory tart left. We ended up buying two more desserts. I scored and found the half off (day old) section. It was hidden and I almost didn't see it, but am glad I did. We tried the pumpkin tart with cream and a chocolate chocolate chip croissant dessert. Both were very delicious and fun. Bathroom and atmosphere were absolutely adorable and so cute. A hidden gem! Everything about this place is my favorite. The place is gorgeous and Instagram worthy. The food is amazing. And the people are super nice! The trifecta of perfection. There is an adorable pink phone booth outside for all those important calls . Even the bathroom has the cutest neon light. The dessert case! It's impossible to make choices because everything looks so good. We ended up getting animal cookie cupcakes, snickerdoodle, lemon cookie, and more. It's also a great place to order fancy cakes. My favorite pastries are the monkey bread and the cinnamon roll. Today we had three pastries and two breakfast sandwiches and three drinks and it was $48. It's a little on the pricey side for the portion size but I think they cater an older population who Probably don't desire large portions. We will not be weekly visitors, but it will be a special treat a few times a a year. Highly recommend Lux Sucre! There has not been one thing I have gotten there that I haven't loved. They made a special cake for my daughter's birthday and it was INCREDIBLE - moist, flavor was amazing (she wanted a chocolate cake with raspberry filling ) and the theme was on point for our horse lover. We worked with Lux Sucre for our wedding cake and dessert table, and they were an absolute joy to work with. From discovering them online, to the tasting, all the way until our special day - Lux Sucre provided outstanding customer service and great guidance. Brandon worked closely with us to help us fill out the desserts we wanted while we were in-store, and then helped us to estimate cost. Since we were planning our wedding in Portland while being based on the east coast, it was really crucial that we made as many decisions in person while we were visiting Portland. The Lux Sucre team understood this and made it really easy for us to work remotely. After we set up the options for the dessert table, we got on the phone with Brandon and discussed the cake. We looked at a myriad of options on their Instagram page, and then narrowed the choices down to a few modern ones we liked. From there, Brandon helped us to not only choose the style of cake, but also give us a way to choose the cake's colors so that it matched the color palette of our wedding. It was very easy for us to provide the colors and the results on our day was absolutely stunning! Guests remarked how much they loved the cake and all the desserts.
