The waitress was sweet and attentive, however, was not able to answer my friends questions about some beers on the menu (we are from out of state and not familiar with the local beers). Food was hot and tasty. Highly recommend the sweet corn bites and curds. The steak bites with chipotle sauce are amazing, same with the cheesy tots. The staff were very friendly and quick considering our party of 9. They joined in our conversations and helped make the night great! Will be coming back next year when we visit! read more

We went to this restaurant at lunch on Memorial Day. There were maybe 6 tables and 3 people at the bar. They had several servers standing around so we thought our service would be fairly quick. It sold have been the warning we needed. The server came to take our drink order around 3-5 minutes within our being seated and then disappeared. After 10 minutes of people walking in after us and being served while we never even got our drinks, we left. I'd make another choice. Although the service was good, the food was minimal at best. I ordered 1/2 salad with chicken. It was advertised to be accompanied with "Asian" dressing which I didn't care for and asked for a second choice. I easily chose a second 2 oz portion cup of another dressing and discovered a $.50 charge on my bill. That level of customer service does not warrant a second chance nor does the quality of food. I realize everyone is looking for help in the Okoboji area but yesterday we went in for lunch, got there around noon and didn't get our food close to 1:30. Our server was running all over the place, he had tables in the other room and I think ours was the only table in the main seating room. The table next to us had their server there on numerous occasions. Horrible experience. We ordered drinks a mimosa and a water the water was forgotten about until she came back 10 minutes later to take food orders. I got my water it has a floater in it and it was 3/4 full seemed off. She took our food orders and we got food but wasn't ours she took the plate of pancakes to another table and my plate as well leaving just my boyfriend with his food. This location has had many names and owners over the years which were pretty good and this one was pretty much in line with my expectations. I had breakfast with my sister-in-law and decided on the crabcake eggs benedict and coffee. This intrigued me as I have never had this particular combo. I was advised that it was a very large portion and that I may be fine with a half plate. I was thrilled that a half plate could be had and I must say it was plenty. The crabcake was good, the egg was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was the classic holandaise. The hash browns were COVERED in cheese (yay!). Truly I was delighted with the food. We were able to sit outside on the deck portion of the restaurant at a high top in perfect weather. Our waitress could have been a tad more attentive as I like to have my coffee refilled or warmed up a few times during my meal vs. just once or twice. We went there for breakfast during the winter. It was an absolute filthy mess. It was as if they just expected you to eat off a dirty table. Our food was mediocre, granted it was breakfast and that is very hard to ruin. Our waiter was rude and he was wearing a very vulgar political ball cap. I ordered the cod sandwich. I was hoping for a nice big flakey cod fillet. No such luck - it was like a giant fish stick patty. $8.75 for this sandwich and fries? Not impressed. The ice tea tasted chlorinated like I was made from pool water. My friend ordered the the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. She said the meat was dry and the flavor was bland. First impression wasn't the best. We walked in and had a party of 8 and a baby. There was one table open that had 6 chairs and we were willing to squeeze a small table in and it would have fit. Today was the last day my extended family and I were in Okoboji and the Hutt was our last stop/meal before we parted ways. As a group of 10, I totally expect a longer wait to be seated so the 30+ minutes we sat outside in the sun was not of any concern. What makes me give only 1 star was our experience after that. We placed our breakfast orders as soon as we were sat since we made our choices while waiting outside. Drinks were delivered but our server never came back until my husband stopped her 35 min later to ask the status of our meals. She came back 5-10 min later to say it would be another 20 min!!! By that time we had been waiting nearly 45 min and she had the nerve to argue over the time frame. My husband, son, and I had to get on the road within about 15 min of that so we told her to cancel our 3 meals and we left. We had to grab lunch at a drive thru. Checking in with our family that stayed behind, we learned they too left before their meals as 25 min later, they still hadn't been served. Ridiculous! Check for freshness on the beer, just average food I ordered a Fat Tire beer, took a drink, thought it tasted off but didn't think too much of it. After drinking half of it I checked the best by date...3 months past the best buy date. I told my waitress to tell the bartender to check his beer age. She was humored that it was old and never bothered to remove it off of our bill, offer something else or even notify the bartender. Hmmm some bad service reviews? I went there twice this weekend and very good service and food both times. They advertise a 1/3 lb burger, it was bigger than that and very good. Ruben sandwich was delicious. I ordered wings, they were huge and very good! Ordered the fries "extra crispy" and they were perfect! Nice deck with very comfortable chairs. I wish I could rate the food, but I'm 35 minutes in to this adventure and it hasn't arrived yet. $6 for a kid's smuckers pb&j you find for a dollar in a grocer. Paid $18 for appetizer trio that had wings, mushrooms and mini tacos. The portions given would have costed less than $15 in most other restaurants. The mini tacos are a joke, deep fried half spoon full of meat poorly slopped into a greasy shell. The wings were practically just the frozen ones you buy in the store, served with some plain BBQ sauce and no spice. The mushrooms were actually OK. The service was pretty poor as well, lunch on a week day with maybe a half dozen other tables and it took 10 minutes to get drink orders, another 10 to bring them and my coffee wasn't refilled once the whole time I was there. It's over priced, service is bad and the food is bootsy to put it nicely. You're better off going grocery shopping and making the stuff yourself at home. read more
