We had a view from the second floor across the street to Gloucester Bay and the famous mariners statue. Downtown is a short walk in one direction, and the bridge that is seen on Wicked Tuna a short walk in the opposite direction. There is a fabulous waterfront park a short distance away with beautiful views for a hike. We did not use our car during the visit. Since they had availability, we were taken on a tour and were able to choose our room. Everything was in working order, with the room very large and comfortable. We stayed over Wednesday night and the evening "sing was directly below our room. I was reminded for some reason to call and catch up with my sweat lodge hippy quaker sister and see how she was doing (just fine thanks). I am sure it was our imagination, but the following morning we heard something scurrying across the roof. My wide asked if I thought it was the famous muffin bunny. I checked the door, and there was the muffin basket. We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn, and in Gloucester. If you visit the Inn, and are staying on the second floor, pack light as the stairway is a bit steep.

I would not recommend staying at this house, she is very disrespectful to her tenants especially when they are 20-30s aged. She has entered rooms without asking, she set up baby monitors that record audio and visual in public spaces, calls/texts frequently with passive aggressive messages for example she called me on my way back from work to say that my (115lbs) footsteps were too loud on the baby monitors, she eliminated use of the kitchen for everyone in the house halfway through my stay, she refused to return my security deposit, she drinks/eats people's food/beverages, and many other things. Meanwhile many of the rooms were not up to standard, I was on the second floor and when people in the third floor would shower it would rain down in my bathroom from the light. Other rooms suffered water damage/were leaking. Please do not stay in this house!

They don't offer a full breakfast, but they have coffee and tea and muffins in one of the rooms downstairs. Lisa is friendly, hilarious, and very helpful with suggestions/information on what to do in Gloucester, but still gives you enough space to do your own thing. It's about a 15 min. walk to downtown/Main St, and it's a nice walk along the water (lined with millions of American flags, which is pretty hilarious; or maybe pretty and hilarious). It is right along whatever that main road is, which has pretty heavy traffic in the summer (lots of loud motorcycles), so it was a bit loud at times-though we had our windows open the whole time to get the full 'ocean air' effect.

This inn is a photographer's paradise whose main features are the massive picture windows in the rooms combined with the inn's position overlooking an expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear morning in the back yard of the inn (house rule: stay off the rocks!) I have caught some of the most beautiful Atlantic sunrises of my photography career. Rooms are very well maintained with a very nice gilded age air. Inn keeper Randy is very helpful and thorough and explains things clearly and is very accommodating. Mind you this not a traditional bed and breakfast, it has no expansive common areas or on-site kitchen. Breakfast is provided off site via voucher at another very nice location with everything you may want or need. If you seek a peaceful out of the hustle location with opportunity for peaceful and serene Atlantic Ocean views Quarterdeck Inn by the Sea is practically unbeatable. We slept in the pebble beach room. What a view!!! Nice sunset, looking over the ocean. In the morning they prepare a nice breakfast with fresh fruit, greek yoghurt, cake, bread and eggs, and pancakes. Coffee is per machine which gives everybody a wide variety of flavors and let you decide how strong you'd like your coffee. Then when you're set and prepared for breakfast you can sit outside on the porch (I love porches!!!) or in the garden at the pond. Then again start enjoying. The sunrise, the nice environment and stroll a bit up and down the street afterwards... It's so lovely here. The room itself was nice and comfortable but still a star is missing as we had to shower in the bathtub. Normally that's not a big problem, but as we sere standing in the tub under the roof you have to lean sideways not to bump your head and there is no place to put the shower head. So have to keep it in your hands. So while your standing in the tub, holding the shower head, leaning sideways you also have to wash yourself. I think this is a big minus for everybody taller then 5 ft ;)

When they say the best breakfast in Gloucester, it's not an exaggeration! The couple that owns the Inn/Cafe are very hospitable and welcoming people. I've been visiting for the past 15+ years and every stay and meal has always been exceptional. Additionally, the staff they hire and employ is equally committed. It is truly a five-star operation. We were recently up in the area visiting Gloucester and Rockport. As always, one of those mornings meant we had to stop at Atlantis Oceanfront Cafe! It is a MUST. I almost hate letting this gem/secret out. It is the best place for breakfast with the very best view. It is post-card perfect. Your window table overlooks the rocks+water and you can visually see and hear the waves crashing against the rocks. It doesn't get much more picturesque or scenic than that! While the menu has changed a bit since my last visit, the quality has not. The breakfast portions are very generous and everything is of the highest quality. Our favorite is the eggs Benedict. Those perfectly poached eggs resting on top of those bakery-quality English muffins. The tender Canadian bacon. The perfect amount of creamy, perfectly seasoned hollandaise sauce. The side of tender and perfectly seasoned breakfast potatoes. It doesn't get any better than that in my book! Another favorite of mine is their GIANT Fresh Blueberry Pancakes. They remind me greatly of every childhood trip to the Atlantis and Gloucester. I've always told my family if I had to have one last breakfast, let's hope Atlantis Cafe is in season! I am not joking either! Service is always top priority. Friendly and expeditious. The kitchen is open to the dining room and their culinary takes true pride in every plate they put out. They pulled some tables and chairs together to fit us all in a row. The setting and ambiance is very diner like with the address of the great ocean view. The menu was only one page but had all the essentials for a great breakfast. The waitress was quick off the mark to grab our drink orders. The coffee nice a hot, good cup of joe. 5/5 Fish cakes and eggs - I wanted to try something unique and they had this spectacular dish on menu. The fish cakes contained fresh chunks of fish and was seasoned just right. It wasn't too salty so went well with the spinach. The home fries were good and eggs over easy were done perfectly. The soft egg yolk broke and oozed just fine over the fish cakes. Definitely will come back again for breakfast when in the area.
