So excited to have an Indian restaurant in Lake County.! We ordered take out for lunch. The food was good, but the price point was way too high. I would have given it 4-5 stars if the price was lower or the portion size was larger. If it were even $5-6 lower per menu item, it would be worth going back for. Decent enough, but having sampled a couple of main dishes there's not a huge variation in flavor. Butter chicken should be radically different from lamb vindaloo ..... here not so much. Service is variable and price is way ...way......way over the top. $18 for biriyani is a joke. As is automatically adding a tip to a take out order. The only Indian restaurant in town and priced accordingly i suppose. Personally I'll drive to University Heights when I crave my Indian food. Worth the extra gas to get there. read more

Went here for lunch today and had the Buffett. Overall the food was good, I'm super excited to have an local Indian place. However, I would give the atmosphere and overall vibe a 0. The manager was trying to teach the servers how to serve but was talking to them loudly and aggressively, we could all tell it was humiliating to them, causing them to be nervious and all of us really uncomfortable. Then we heard him take a phone call, hang up and call the person an asshole, our whole table heard it. My sister commented (wow this place wont last long with him in charge) at the end he was walking around asking all of the tables "are you happy" which I found to be a profound question based in the fact that his vibe was not one of happiness at all he was, anxious, stressed and simply put, seemed to be a real hot head we were HAPPY alright!... to get the heck out of there! I got the impression this may be family owned with a dad addressing his daughters, hope not because if so this place has 0 chance of survival, even if the food is decent we have plenty of good restaurants that have great joyful and peaceful atmospheres in Mentor and the community will choose them. read more

I want to start by saying the food is fantastic, however we had the worst service I've ever had in any restaurant in my life. As a "foodie" that's quite an accomplishment on the part of the wait staff. Our server was lazy and ignored us for the first 20 minutes despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy. We had a reservation for a large group and were seated at a table with no menus or napkins. When we asked a different server for menus she was clearly annoyed we were bothering her, since we weren't her table. When we got the menus we were handed them in a pile instead of handing each of us a menu. We ordered apps and received them, but still no napkins. When we asked for napkins we were again handed them in a pile and had to distribute them ourselves. We then waited to give our order. Remarkably, the server carried a chair over from across the restaurant and sat down to take it. When our food arrived our appetizer plates had not been cleared so there was no room. Our server made us bus our own table- no I am not kidding. Shortly after, the owner arrived and the server became more engaged but as someone who obviously has little or poor experience as a server, even his act was poor. We had no spoons to serve our food, when he brought some he handed them to us to distribute. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. I love that there's a delicious Indian restaurant in Mentor, but the owner must address his staffing issues. The rest of the staff did not seem any better than our server. read more

Had a wonderful experience at The Indian Kitchen. It was a busy Saturday evening; and there were a lot of customers. Keep in mind that this restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks. We got seated immediately. The server was bouncing around from table to table. We ordered the Vegetable Samoas but they were out; being a newer restaurant, it was acceptable. Instead we ordered the Samosa Chat as an appetizer; which I highly recommend. For the main course, we ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and Tandoori Chicken Kabobs, and split an order of Butter Naan and came with basmati rice. The entire meal was amazing and we were in-n-out in no time. I would recommend the Indian Kitchen to anyone seeking a true Authentic Indian Cuisine. read more

Went during weekend brunch buffet. Quality of the food was ok for the cost.

The food is sooo good! I would rate it a five based on taste only...but...oy...the service is terrible. I've been there 3-4 times and each time there was a very long wait and a very inattentive wait staff. Last Saturday we tried it again and arrived promptly at 5. There were only two other couples in the restaurant but it took 45 minutes to get our food. As other people have commented, the problem is that the staff is spending all of their time on take-out orders. I really appreciate all of the vegetarian and vegan options--and I'd really like to continue eating there--but it's just too much money for an unpleasant experience. Dear Owner (if you are reading this): please hire (and pay for!!) some experienced and able wait staff, please hire more kitchen workers, and figure out a better system for take-out orders so that the seated customers aren't having their food delayed. And, as a perk, please consider including one piece of naan per meal ordered....I've never heard of a restaurant charging for bread. read more

Bad service!!! The workers were not wearing masks as they should right now. They mixed up our order the person who wanted a mild dish got spicy and vice versa, even though we specifically asked them if it was correct before we left the store (we've had this happen before)! We inadvertently left our credit card and called about it, no one answered or called us back after leaving a message. We kept calling- finally someone answered who was rude, but validated he had it, told him when we would come get it, he agreed and when we showed up to pick the card up it was closed!!! Website shows hours on Monday. We called a bunch of times in the parking lot to no avail! I really am pro-small business owner, but this sucks!! We were so dissatisfied, to say the least! read more

I love this place. It is SO nice to have Indian cuisine in Mentor. I've been twice with my family which includes 2 kids under 4 and have had excellent service. I've done the lunch buffet which is a good value and I've ordered the butter chicken. My husband ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and added some spice to it. It was perfect, spicy yet still flavorful. I plan to continue to go back. It is definitely on the pricier side, but I will happily pay that for some diverse cuisine in the area. read more

Second time here for take out. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Food is wonderful and I especially like dictating spice level. I always get vegan options and so far every dish is very flavorful. Only one downside is that I do have to manage the take out packaging to assure no spills. But so far so good :) So happy to have this option so close to home. read more

We were not impressed at all. Had never been to an Indian restaurant and wanted to try. First if you know nothing about Indian food the menu sucks! Doesn't explain very well what items are. Plus the prices were too high. With prices that high they should have air conditioning! Our server was trying really hard but was very short with us and did not have time to explain anything. So we ordered 3 appetizers and water. From the description on the menu I am not sure we got what we ordered!! I was excited to go but I won't be back for those prices. I thought I might try the buffet but one review said it was lukewarm. So we are not going to. read more

The food is great, but the portions are out of line for carryout. I wish I could post a photo, but two basic chicken entrees amount to two little 18 oz containers and a single little carton of rice to split for two for $35. Hopefully they improve the value as Id be happy to go back, but not if it remains like that. read more
