We were staying at a nearby hotel and walked over to this restaurant. When we first walked in, we thought that it was just a takeout place because it has a counter for food that you can pick up and go, but there is also a dining room where you can sit down to eat. I got chicken tikki masala, and my husband ordered lamb korma - we also got garlic naan The servers were nice. But the rice, garlic naan, and my tiki masala came out first and my husband had to sit there and wait for several minutes until finally his food came out. That was weird... and while his rice sat there getting cold waiting for the korma, I hated to start eating while he sat there and waited for his food. The Big problem was that he did not get LAMB korma, but GOAT korma...and the meat was full of bones! This is something that my husband absolutely hates! So glad we decided to try something different today, after seeing a show at Playhouse Square and have Great Indian Kitchen for lunch. For first timers, walking into a place you've never been with having very basic knowledge of what foods to expect can be very intimidating. Their menu has zero pictures so we were really trying to rely on Yelp and Google Maps for photos of food. And while both platforms had photos, hardly any of them had a description of what was being photographed. Our server was very friendly and helpful with describing the differences between the different options. After some time and some more googling - I decided to get the chicken vindaloo with a spice level of 2. We also ordered garlic naan and garlic chili naan to share. I couldn't wait to dig in once my food was brought to the table. Both of the naan's were delicious but the garlic chili was our favorite. My chicken vindaloo with a spicy level of 2 was perfection! And before you say "what a sissy"....Indian spice level 2 still has a bit of a kick! The lunch buffet was quite tasty. It included some curries, butter chicken, naan, goat biryani, and dessert including gulab jamun and some kind of fruit custard. I definitely left the restaurant full. I was especially impressed by the goat biryani, which was super flavorful. I also appreciated that a few of the curries were on the spicier side. But I did think it was a bit expensive for a lunch buffet ($24.99 per person on a Friday). The restaurant is also very no-frills. Tables took a bit to be bussed (I think they were short on staff), and at least when I went, you have to pay for water ($1 for a bottle of water). I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I ordered dahi puri and a puri dish with potato curry, but when we received the order, the pani puri stuffing was missing and we were given two of the same curry instead of the correct items. When we contacted the restaurant, the response was not helpful, and we were asked to make another trip to resolve an issue that could have been handled over the phone. My friend ordered the chicken tikka masala, which I tasted and liked as well, it wasn't overly sweet and mild, the way she likes it. The cheese naan was very tasty as well. Ambiance is simple but appears clean. While there is plenty of seating, even if the tables are a bit close, they seem like they do much more takeout service. Service could be better: they were very nice and helpful, but we had to go up to the counter to get someone to come out from the back to give us our checks. I live in California and mortality ordered from this restaurant for delivery. 2 minutes later I saw I made a mistake so I called and asked to cancel the order so they don't waste food and I am refunded. They said they cannot cancel orders? It is their app that they own, how can you not cancel the order? How am I able to pick up the food and receive what I have paid for? Visited Great India Kitchen in Cleveland recently. The food was very good -- flavorful and authentic, definitely worth trying if you enjoy Indian cuisine. The restaurant was extremely busy because of a local event, so we had a long wait to get our orders, but the staff handled the rush politely. Everything we ordered tasted great and fresh, though the puri/bhatura could have been better. While the food itself was okay, the service and business practices were very poor. I ordered a half-chicken for $24. What I received was disappointing: six pieces total, but it included two legs and a back piece that had been cut in half. The breast was also cut in half and was off the bone, which I didn't realize until I got home because it was part of a larger $60 takeout order. When I went back a day or two later to explain the issue, the same gentleman who helped me acknowledged the mistake but told me he would only "make it right" on my next order. I returned a third time to ask him to resolve the original order first, as it doesn't make sense to spend more money at a business just to get what I already paid for. He refused to fix the previous order without a new purchase. Beyond being cheated on the portions and the frustrating "solution" offered, I also observed bugs crawling around the establishment during my visit. Because of these unsanitary conditions and the refusal to rectify a clear billing error, I will be contacting the Cleveland Department of Public Health to file a formal report. Family of 3 attending event in Huntington center. This restaurent is in walking distance. We're lucky enough to order our dinner before the place filled up. Paneer khurchan(white rice), gobi 65, butter roti, fried rice all came in quick succession. They were all equally amazing. Spicy, as we ordered it. I highly recommend finishing the meal with chai. That sounds like a lot right, if I was a vegetarian, my only options would be - aloo Gobi, plain rice, dal, chole, steamed ragi balls(which tbh is an acquired taste you're not gonna like it), papad raita rice pudding and salad/fruits! Does that sound like a $20 meal to you? Nope not to me honestly, and I can cook all of these for a dozen ppl with that 20 bucks!! Thirdly and mainly this 'unlimited' buffet includes just 1 portion of flat bread! Can you believe that? One 6" thin flat bread! Ok now for the taste test - so m an Indian born in India in a south Indian home in a Mumbai which is a melting pot of cultures within India, why am I saying this - so you understand where I come from and how much I understand Indian food! I found this restaurant while wandering around downtown. Didn't know what to expect, but saw crowds of Indian people nearby. I ordered the Tandoori chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Mango Lassi. Asked them to make the chicken vindaloo mild, I already knew my "Caucasian" taste buds wouldn't be able to handle it. I was able to eat a few pieces but the taste was incredibly authentic and flavorful. The chicken vindaloo was so tender. The Mango Lassi was awesome too. The crowds of regulars coming by for takeout are definitely in the know. I'd recommend, but be careful not to order anything too spicy if you can't handle the heat. The Andhra chicken is probably too spicy unless you've been eating spicy food since you were very young. read more

This place was an experience for me and my family. When we walked in we started to have some concerns, it didn't seem very presentable and no one was there to greet us. Eventually we were seated and began looking at the menu, we all decided to get classic Caucasian Indian food: paneer masala, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. We were not asked spice level but that is expected as a lot of times white people are known as being wimps who can't handle any spice. As we waited for our food the vibe in the restaurant shifted, a ton of regulars decided to come in and even at one point a blind lady and her guide dog came in and sat at their usual spot. The waitress couldn't have been more helpful, kind, and they even knew her and her dogs name... very cute and sweet. Once the food came expectations were mixed, paper plates and bowls and plastic utensils were used to serve our food. While this isn't a big deal at all it definitely isn't something that I've ever experienced prior at indian restaurants. Once we started to indulge, we couldn't have been happier, we all tried each others and were very impressed. The food was so flavorful and the rice was different to anything I've had before. The food and staff I give 5 stars but I understand that presentation plays a factor in the overall rating. It wasn't the cleanest place in the world and for a lot of people that can be a turnoff. So this place is not for everyone, but I really like it. We will start off with location. For me its within a block of my apartment so I have no issue walking over for a quick breakfast/lunch/dinner/late night snack. That being said if you are driving in parking will be a bit limited depending on whether or not other events are happening downtown. Shoutout to the insane hours this place is running for now. I don't think it's sustainable but I'm not going to stop them because I think we as a city need a robust late night dining scene. If you are dining in brace yourself the predecessor to this spot was Omar Grill which was quite dirty and the new owners have kept that tradition alive. Common for some flies or mystery bugs to be wandering around the dining area. Personally I don't care the food has never made me ill or anything like that so for all I know the kitchen does a fantastic job maintaining food safety standards. The food itself is solid south Indian fare. The curries are favorful, the biryanis are properly cooked, and I love that they do dosas from scratch. A few times the food has been insanely spicy (I did not ask for it and it's completely possible they just cranked the heat since I am a brown person), but it is very flavorful.
