We went on Saturday at noon for the buffet, but when we arrived it wasn't set up. We asked the guy behind the counter if it was running and he said, "No." Ok cool, thanks for your input. We decided to go ahead and eat there anyway since we had driven all the way there and everyone was starving. Let me tell you, without the buffet it IS NOT WORTH IT. I ordered my goat biryani spicy and it came at maybe a medium spice level. The tikka masala lacked flavor and salt, we ordered this with a medium spice and felt this was accurate. I ordered a delivery. The garlic naan was burned. The chicken tikka masala has no flavor but super spicy. You cannot taste anything but spicy hot. What was worse was that one of my children had stomach pain after eating it. My other child had stomach pain and diarrhea. I only had one bite so I was ok. The worst Indian food ever. read more

Great lunch buffet. Only downside is nothing is labeled on the main food bar and the labels on the sauces are not accurate for the spot they are in. Otherwise deliciously crispy yet soft samosas, rice, tandoori chicken, a paneer dish, a potato dish, and rice pudding along with carrot halwa. Cost is $20. read more

The Sunday buffet was excellent. I think this will ll be good for the area. 17.99 for a small but extremely well prepared buffet. Vegetarian and chicken dishes. It was fresh and well spiced. Recently ordered for delivery and the food tasted great! We ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, lamb biryani and samosas. Great flavor but wish it was a bit spicier, we ordered Spicy but next time we'd order the Indian Spicy level. The samosas were crispy and delicious but the chutneys that came with it were a bit watery, not terrible but not great either. The biryani and CTM were really good. Lamb was super tender. Came here with a few friends while visiting Cleveland and I was pleasantly surprised by this place! My friend and I split the palak paneer and chicken tikka malai, with garlic naan (of course, why would you get Indian food without a side of naan?) the portions were relatively good size, especially with the side of rice that comes with each entree. We got both entrees at a medium spice level, which was perfect--a pleasant bit of heat without it taking away from the lovely other flavors of the food. We originally thought we would take leftovers home, but ended up eating everything! Okay Indian restaurant. It's a family-owned restaurant, so the interior is small. Hard to social distance if you're going during COVID. I had the goat curry and a bit of the kebab platter. Goat meat actually isn't as stinky/gamey as I thought it would be. The meat was soo tender. The kebab platter meat was no exception. The curry was disappointing though. It tasted really salty rather than fragrant from spices. Parking is unfortunately poor around the area of University Circle next to Euclid Avenue. Smells are amazing as soon as you walk in. Food is just as amazing. My boyfriend and I have been here 4 times. He always gets the Tandoori chicken tikka at spice level Spicy (3 out of 4 spice levels). For comparison he also handles the hot salsa at Chipotle. It's a little too spicy for me but I'll eat a few pieces and the chicken is so flavorful, tender and juicy. I have gotten the chicken saag which is delicious at medium spice for me and the butter shrimp. Both are great. We also always get the garlic naan and it is fresh, soft, and garlicky. read more

I've been here a few times because 1. it's a buffet and 2. it's $10 for lunch. It's a good deal for the amount of food you are getting. However, I would say Indian Flame is not very high quality indian food. Some of the dishes seems diluted with not much flavor. Tandoori chicken was really dry. We ended up going with the Mango Lassi, Garlic Naan, Chili Paneer, and Lamb Vindaloo. The Mango Lassi was good! Very thick and not too sweet. The Garlic Naan was soft and delicious. The Chili Paneer was good but more saucy than I was expecting. It was my boyfriend's first time trying paneer, and he said that he really enjoyed it. Also, I really enjoyed the sauce that came with the Lamb Vindaloo! Spice level medium had more of a kick to it with the Lamb Vindaloo than with the Chili Paneer, but both were not too spicy. Every time we have tried other Indian restaurants, we wish we would have gone to Indian flame instead. We always get Tandoori chicken tikka and garlic naan. At first I was delighted by how spicy the sauce was. But then I noticed the suspicious size and dice on the carrots . . . And . . . Are those? . . . Corn kernels? They used frozen soup mix veggies. I could have made at least twice as much using a jar of jalfrezi sauce and a bag of frozen veggies from Giant Eagle for a quarter of the price. That was just insulting. What a great, cozy little spot in University Circle. I have been here twice now, and didn't plan to come here other than a craving for Indian food. We came here for a weeknight dinner and it was very easy to secure a table. The servers seat you quickly and the ordering process is very quick. Furthermore, the food comes out SO quickly which is great when you're starving! The restaurant has a family-run vibe. The servers are very friendly, although they can be a little hard to flag down at times. It didn't get too noisy, which is perfect for a nice conversation with friends or a date. The food is delicious. I have gotten the chicken tikka masala and the paneer tikka masala here, both of which were perfectly creamy and savory. I will say that the food is expensive and a tad overpriced. Overall, I love this place for when I'm craving some cozy Indian food, but do keep in mind the price (which is the only major detriment). read more

The inside of this restaurant is small ,but very cozy . They seem to a lot of takeout due to being right by Case University. The staff was super nice and welcoming! The thing I like about this restaurant is it's genuine they don't Americanize their food . It tasted like I was in India , even thou I never been there. One of the local food writers I respect mentioned the lunch buffet at India Flame as a favorite so I figured I would give it a try as I was going to the Art Museum. Located on Euclid Avenue across from CIA parking can be a bit difficult, but I did find some metered parking between CIA and its new housing. India Flame is in a new building and is a compact and nice space without much distinctive decor. The lunch buffet is set up near the kitchen and is compact, but has the items you would expect with both vegetarian items and chicken items. Overall the food was OK, but nothing special. The best item for me were the fried vegetables which were fresh, crisp and flavorful. The vegetarian items were decent, but seemed a bit too liquid too me, I would have preferred a bit more body. The flavors also seemed a bit muted, without the distinctive spice pop that I have had at the best Indian restaurants. The naan bread was pretty good, just not anything special. I did want to mention the service, although they did a nice job of keeping the buffet stocked, the table service was a bit lacking with dirty plates sitting on the table for a while. You also have to grab your own silverware from the start of the buffet. With the cost of the lunch buffet being $10.95 I was expecting better tasting food and I was just a bit disappointed, not that it was bad, just not as good as I was expecting. I've wanted Indian food for the longest time. My wife dislikes it and the offerings at home are really hot and miss. This week though I'm in Cleveland and I've been having a long debate about which of the two restaurants near me I should choose. Indian Flame won out. I've ordered an appetizer plate and I can already envision a large take away box. Unfortunately some things became apparent from the first bites of the appetizers, everything had absolutely no flavor. A green sauce and a red sauce accompanied the appetizer plate. The green sauce seemed to be some kind of relish. The red sauce was thick and sweet. The entree was Chili Shrimp. I ordered it at a level 4 heat. It had no heat whatsoever. The tomato sauce had a hint of sourness to it and the shrimp were well cooked. I'd also ordered some garlic naan, but despite seeing garlic on the bread, the bread didn't taste like it had any seasoning, odd that. The Marsala tea completed the meal. read more
