Pretty convenient locations from what I see. This one is super close to my work so we've ordered from here multiple times and then came here for a group lunch. The door is wonky though...super heavy and opens weird. They have a lot of different options and premade bowls. For someone who is not very familiar with Indian food, this place makes it easy to customize and try out stuff. Nothing was too spicy or too overspiced, thankfully. Everything tasted relatively fresh but the portions are too small for the price. It's not like at Chipotle or Cilantro where they fill up your bowl. I almost never finish my portion in one sitting but I had no problem doing so here. I wish there were more veggie toppings and not just pickled ones. Scallions and cilantro would be great options to have. The mango lassi was delicious but so small. The inside is high ceilinged, spacious and has plenty of seating. I like Indian food and this isn't the most authentic but it's still delicious and Indian inspired, so you'll definitely like it. You'll get the food in a pretty quick amount of time and the staff are generally nice, and they do listen if you want to make changes to your order so that's good. This is like Chipotle for Indian food. SO GOOD! We were a large group of 7 so we pretty much ordered something from each section of the menu. Everyone loved the food and the flavors were so satisfying. The real tandoors behind the see-through glass were eye catching. Being able to see my food being cooked was very satisfying. The servers were very sweet, made great recommendations and were very patient with my very chaotic family. My only issue with this place is the unisex restrooms. Don't go here!! Food was extremely unimpressive, nothing like traditional Indian food. The tikka masala I had tasted more like tomato soup, super unseasoned. I am usually not a picky eater at all but I was really disappointed cause their menu sounded so good in theory and Indian food is usually my favorite. The bowl I got had paneer in it that was cold and hard, nothing tasted good. My friend got something with meat in it and ended up getting food poisoning and throwing up. Came here for dessert and would love to come back and try their food. It is like a Qdoba or Chipotle but for Indian food. But there are other items as well. We got the kulfi which was a perfect size for 1 person. 3.6 ounces of delish. They only have malai flavor though. Would like to see other flavors. I tried the mango lassi which was good, think it was like 12oz. Got the samosa chaat to go as well. This was interesting because we had to build it since it was to go. This was very good. The food was absolutely excellent. The ingredients were high quality, cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The heat levels were slightly underwhelming though, but the price point and overall quality makes up for it. It is extremely clean and well organized. The staff were so professional, courteous and attentive. It is astounding how there is not much attention or hype surrounding this brand as it is definitely poised to make a run against some of the higher tier competition like Chipotle. On another note, shout out to whomever did the self service kiosk app. It is so user friendly, intuitive, and well designed. We've found the Indian version of fast food! Corey and I had our eyes fixated on this restaurant before we arrived. As the day progressed I could almost taste basmati rice assuming that would be on the menu. It was! I must say, "Choolaah didn't disappoint!" I can't speak for their OGs in regards to the former price and quantity differentials. All I know is the look of satisfaction on Cory's face was priceless as he devoured his lamb naan wrap. I had the Perfect Balance Bowl with Paneer, Veggies, Basmati Rice, Tikka Masala, and Naan. Choolaah follows a Chipotle style business model for Indian food. It may take a little trial and error to figure out how you like your bowls but the food is definitely worth the effort. The Samosas were delicious as was the spicy chicken bowl. The food can be as traditional or modern as your selections. The ladies working the register were fun and enthusiastic. One tried to get me to order their new Butter Masala and the other the Tilka Masala. They each brought me a sample of the sauce they wanted me to try. Stopped into Choolaah for a late lunch. I ordered a Perfect Balance Bowl with lamb and sides of samosas & naan. My daughter had the Kids Choolah Bowl with chicken and Tikka Masala. This is an interesting concept but eater beware THIS IS NOT REAL INDIAN FOOD. I am East Indian and, well, I would call it an American take at best. My daughter liked the chicken and rice but said the Tikka Masala tasted nothing like mine. She and I didn't care for the naan. It was soggy and loaded with black pepper seeds. The samosa were hot but very bland. Dipping them in the mint yogurt helped. My the roasted veggies in my Perfect Balance Bowl were cold. The lamb was just ok. Again bland and lacking flavor. An average eater will love this place. But for $30+ we would rather just eat at a REAL Indian restaurant. read more

Food was good, service was slow. Food handling practices get a "0". As the kitchen staff removed the chicken skewers from the tandoori oven there was a small flame below the food the kitchen worker proceeded to blow the flame out with their mouth repeatedly until the flame went out. That is just what I could see through the window. I can only imagine what is going on where we can't see. Since this review I have been in contact with the district manager and he expressed his concerns and apologize. He assured me new training practices and standards were going to be set in place. This was our first visit to Choolaah and it truly exceeded expectations! We took our time looking over the menu board and the counter staff answered all our questions and ensured our order was exactly what we wanted. Within 5 minutes of placing our order the food was ready and it looked and smelled delicious. My wife had the salmon on top of a veggie & rice bowl and the salmon was perfectly cooked. I had a spicy tandoori chicken bowl with extra veggies and both of our bowls were generously sized. Of course we had to try the samosas and the naan also. Everything was so flavorful and tasty, you could easily control the "heat" with the variety of side sauces available but the bowls were perfect as is. Choolaah is a great way to try, and experiment with, Indian food. The kitchen is behind a large glass wall and you can watch everything being prepared in the tandoori ovens. The masala is pretty tasty(sour sweet and creamy) and it goes very well with spicy mango mango but bowl was kinda small portion for the food as you can see in the picture and chicken is kinda dry and burn a little. The service is nice. I like how they ask if i want to separate sauce (masala) or not. The location is easy for parking and inside restaurants is big and clean. The way to order is like chipotle. I opted for the chicken tikka masala with half rice and half lettuce with the mango sauce and naan! The half lettuce made me feel somewhat healthier . You order at the front then get a pager. You can fill up your soda at the freestyle machine and find a table while you are waiting. They have a variety of seating types inside and outside. We finally got lunch and something went totally wrong with this order. TOTALLY. Especailly this was the first time Indian Food for 2 cost more than $50! We did a take-out order. I did not find their salad bowl on the online menu. I am not sure if it was removed but that was my favorite. I ordered a Choolaah chicken bowl with half Romane lettuce and lamb balls. This was absolutely tasteless and the lamb was tough and was not tender. There were 3 chunks of lettuce in it and overall, it was NOTHING like I had before. I believe they might have added beef to the lamb mix as it did NOT taste like a lamb but like a hit of lamb. We tried this other food Pav Bhaji as the menu had this neat pic of streetside sliders with toasted buns and toppings. What we got was warmed-up dinner rolls with a mush of what tasted like tandori-flavored squash. It was absolutely disgusting. This was a complete disappointment overall. None of the food we had was anything as I had eaten in past. I am wondering if they have new ownership?? It was a complete flop. read more
