The owners, Dan, Pat, and Justin have created a community that is welcoming of all CrossFit skill levels. Their coaching style is hands on and supportive, which helps a ton when you're trying to squeeze out 50 or 75 burpees or learn handstand push-ups. The fact that CFTR is located in a Gold's Gym is a major plus in that, as a CFTR member, you are entitled to use certain of Gold's facilities, including the showers (a rarity for most CrossFit boxes). The coaches exhibit their sincere interests in helping people find progress in their fitness, whatever their goals may be. From what I've heard of Crossfit, I had different expectations, and find that these coaches do it correctly. Every affiliate is different, and everyone's needs may follow. For me, Crossfit The Rack serves my ambitions well, as I witness, everyone else who is a part of this family.

The owner first showed me a bike and said "don't worry, there is no weight limit." I have a great sense of humor and giggled internally, mostly because he thought that would go over my head. I calmly asked him why he would say that and he stammered. He may have thought I'd shrink. No sir, wrong lady. The Women's Locker Room is in need of a nice paint job to make it appealing. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in every stall to find one stall with toilet paper. Sometimes none found. One positive is that I've seen machines cleaned and vacuumed daily. The cleaning people on the floor are friendly and kind. There are a couple of trainers who made eye contact and spoke to me directly and I appreciated it. I had no luck making an appointment with any trainer. After making an appointment with one, he had a woman call me back to ask who I was and how I got an appointment with him. Shame for him, I was willing to buy a package from him after my first visit. I then had another trainer appointment and had car trouble so called to cancel 48 hours in advance and she called me back and blasted me that her time was valuable too. I gave 48 hours notice. Their arrogance was a lost opportunity for them. I found an excellent trainer outside this gym. As for the muscular brother/owner. Yeesh "dude" - you've officially won the "Get Over Yourself" Award. People come in all sizes and shapes. There was another woman here who wrote about you in particular. It's not a one-off. I've had a similar experience. I did not speak or complain to you or anyone in that gym ever and you still managed to do that to me.

The studio is so clean and when the work out starts it's dark I love the vibe. The first class was free but I will definitely be back and signing up. I started with him at a different OTF studio in summer of 2018, currently have him as a personal trainer since May of 2021, and followed him to the Totowa studio where I go periodically in addition to the personal training. I'll start by saying that I've probably tried to write this review 20 times but never felt like I could find the words fit to describe how much this man has helped me. I still don't feel like I can do him justice here but gotta give it my best shot. He is hands down the most inspiring, energizing, optimistic and professional human (yes, not just fitness instructor but of any human overall) with whom I have ever engaged. He is INCREDIBLY good at what he does - both from his own hard work, dedication and discipline for his craft, and because he truly has a gift for elevating everyone around him. He's also brave and proud (hello pivoting from a previous career to follow his dreams in fitness and helping others), and made of integrity. I feel incredibly lucked to have happened upon Coach H by randomly signing up for my preferred time slots without regard to who the instructor was when I first started going to OTF. I was in the worst shape of my life, and sporadically doing lackluster workouts by myself at home was not getting me anywhere. When OTF opened in my city I decided to commit, but that was the type of decision I had made and failed at a million times before. Fast forward a few months and I noticed that I'm less likely to cancel a class if he's the instructor vs. anyone else. He works so hard for you, and you just end up constantly motivated to do the same. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt the variable that's lead to my success this time around, after a lifetime of failed attempts, is Coach H. Absolute best decision, best money I've ever spent. I don't care if you're an elite athlete or haven't worked out once ever - Coach H can meet you where you're at mentally and physically, and make you better than you are. You just better come correct, because he will be wholly dedicated to you and your process. I owe this man my life.

I dropped in unannounced and Blake dropped what he was doing (not coaching at the time) and warmly greeted me. Then Deb quickly reached out and set me up with a drop in class. Again, as soon as I walked in for class Joe was there to greet me by name and check-in with me prior to class.
