I recently took a class here and was deeply shaken by what happened afterward. From my personal experience, I learned that my Pilates instructor was wrongfully terminated following an incident with another member named Ed Pacelli. During a class, Ed made an extremely inappropriate, racially charged "joke" about hanging African American people directed toward our African American instructor. His own wife tried to stop him, left the room embarrassed, and he still went ahead with it. What disturbed me even more was how the situation was handled. Instead of supporting the instructor who simply asked for him to be removed from her class because of how unsafe and uncomfortable the comment made her feel management chose to side with Ed, reportedly because he's been a member for six years. From my point of view, that choice spoke volumes. As a minority woman, I cannot support a place where staff and clients of color can be exposed to racist comments and then left unprotected. In today's political climate, where safety and respect should be the bare minimum, it's heartbreaking to see an establishment so willing to turn a blind eye. I refuse to spend my time or money somewhere that tolerates behavior like this. read more

I went here by chance after an add popped up on my social media account. I was contacted via phone with follow up text. Scheduling was easy. I arrived there with a nice welcome on their sign on the front desk. Great way to make me feel welcomed. My class as a one on one with Sam. She is a very nice, dedicated trainer that knows how to work your muscles. I was given a diverse introduction to Pilates on the reformer. Onto to their Covid protocol. When you enter the practice, you are greeted by a very friendly person at the desk that takes your temperature. Everyone in the entry vestibule wears a mask. The private room in the basement doesn't require you to wear a mask, but your trainer will keep his/hers on. In the group rooms, you will see plastic "shower curtain" dividers between each reformer. There is a UV room cleaner that goes on after the class and I was told there is a 30 minute delay between classes to clean the reformers. So if you're interested in reformer Pilates, this place is a good place to check out. read more

Pilates is the most amazing whole body workout; improving your core, flexibility & strength. Sam, an owner & instructor is a phenomenal teacher, giving personalized help in the group classes which are a max of 8 (proper form/individualized weight) & she truly cares. You must take her classes-you will see your body transformed. Oscar (the other owner) does personal training & although I have never used him; others rave about his fitness knowledge; personalized program & results & how nice he is. The studio is very clean & has an intimate atmosphere. The Pilates is available for an unlimited monthly fee so you can try different classes (platform/tower/hybrid/abs) & there are classes every day & at different times to fit your schedule. Definitely try a session with either Sam or Oscar--your body will be happy you did!! read more

This is a fantastic pilates and personal fitness studio! The owner/instructors, Sam and Oscar, are highly knowledgable and clearly care about their clients' well-being. I have been training with Oscar for a year, and my personal fitness level is the best it's ever been. His sessions are challenging, but he believes in you and that makes you believe in yourself. Oscar got me started on Pilates with Sam, and I love her classes as well. Just like Oscar, she challenges her clients and offers personalized attention. I am so much stronger and more flexible than I was before I started with them. For the first time in my life, I've become addicted to exercise! The studio itself is bright and clean, and Oscar and Sam always have smiles for their clients. I can't recommend IMX Pilates Wyckoff highly enough! read more

I already posted this on 8/20 but it isn't up!? trying again : I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM ONLY THE SECOND REVIEWER- THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE! It became my "secret weapon" so to speak. What do I mean by that? When I first tried this place a few years ago, I was hooked after the free introductory session. I tried to convince my friends to join with me, but the price was too steep for them (over 200 a month) HOWEVER, after two weeks of going they were raving about the change in my appearance- more toned, standing taller, and inches lost on my waist- and all while not yet changing my diet. I cannot say enough about this workout, studio, or the instructors. I have no affiliation with this company, but I am telling you- it is pricey because IT WORKS, and if you have been working out "your own way" for years, and not seeing results, YOU WILL here. Plain and simple. As an imMPORTANT side note, it is amazing for your back! I am afraid to think of how I would continue to age if I had not discovered IMX. Marta the owner is INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGABLE; the best. Catherine, a wonderful instructor here, has so much charisma, energy, and know how that it is easy to remain motivated. To know her is to love her, and she knows what she is doing. I often found myself pushed to go because I wanted my hour with her, not just for my hour with pilates. I saw woman of ALL ages, at every fitness level, receive a tailored workout during class (they make adjustments especially when they know you are new- they will not leave you out- class size is up to 6 for the reformer) lose weight, inches, gain sleek muscle, and regain CONFIDENCE. Bottom line- if you want results, come here. I can't stress it enough- there should be a charity that sets up a fund to give this workout to woman who need it and cant afford it, because it really can change your life and your attitude towards your body and everything else. I say this from the bottom of my heart- if you can afford it, go. if you cant afford it- find a way to! The way you will look and FEEL will trump a few expensive dinners out, I PROMISE! Credibility: I have practiced yoga since I was 18, and was a student at the prestigious "Pilates on 5th" pilates studio where I went to get my certification to become instructor myself. However, I decided I did not really like this "classic" pilates at all in comparison to IMX, and in the future will be getting my certification In IMX. just an fyi ;-) read more

IMX Pilates is amazing! I have been taking classes for a little over three weeks and can already see major results! My weak core has definitely become stronger. My arms have definition. An exceptional class with Marta who is a wonderfully motivating instructor throughout the challenging routine. Marta kept an eye on the entire class and provided precise verbal instructions and demonstrations and corrected our form as necessary, and she helped to prepare us for the next exercise by assisting with changes to hand and foot loops, shortening/lengthening straps and adding/removing springs. Though I have done Pilates before, I learn a great deal from Martha's instruction. Looking forward to my next class. read more

Excellent Pilates studio with small group environment (maximum of 8 per class). Owner is very experienced and an excellent instructor. (The value of any workout is the quality of the instruction.) Very nice group of people who are members. Good variety of classes and class times. read more

A+++++ studio! This is an incredible workout with wonderful instructors. I have always done work outs like zumba, hiking and kick boxing and I am now obsessed with pilates! Sam was so helpful with getting me started. I was a little nervous at first having never done pilates or using the reformer but quickly fell in love. I am also not a morning person but coming into the studio at 5:30am with Tara was a pleasure. She is an amazing instructor and has now changed me into a morning work out person :) After my 5 day trial, I signed on for a month unlimited and tried to go to as many classes as possible. Sam and Tara are both awesome! My month ended last week and I am missing this place terribly! It's just a little too expensive for me right now. They are small group classes, the instructors really work with you to ensure you have the right form and they also stretch you out, so the price is totally understandable. Hopefully I can afford to get back there soon! Highly recommend. read more
