I made a reservation in May for a September wedding. In July, I was offered other housing, so I called and cancelled my stay and now they claim that I didn't call~ and charged me a $291.87 cancellation fee! They took my Amex card over the phone for the reservation, so I called by phone to cancel it. Further, the groom's family hosted a cocktail party there Friday night before the wedding. They were out of napkins and cutlery all the time. They seemed short staffed. And were SO inattentive that they had turned around a computer calculating the cost of each wine and/or beer so all the guests could see what the groom's family was paying! So inappropriate. They charged my Amex 9/6 and I called them 9/12. They said that it's too late to reimburse, very difficult for them administratively. Really? I go out to O'bistro multiple times each month and every time I'm there, I see the manager Jenn. She always looks incredible; well dressed, with a smile on her face! Her waitstaff are very hardworking and always happy, making it evident they respect and appreciate their boss. I've witnessed Jenn working alongside her staff on many occasions, running food and/or drinks, bussing tables, and even making omelettes at the Mother's Day brunch! She is wonderful at her job, ensuring each guest has the perfect experience! We had a lovely two night stay here in the height of the busy season, but the place was still very quiet and relaxing. It was also superbly clean, nicely appointed, with excellent wifi. The second level rooms have very nice terraces in the back. Air conditioning is available, but not frequently needed. The breakfast was very good. All in all, a lovely place to rest and enjoy this gorgoeus little town. read more

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Although it was too cold to sit out our room had a nice patio with great views. We're regular visitors to Wolfeboro staying at many of the area hotels. We decided The Inn on Main will be our new "home away from home." Having the Bistro on site with good food and the best bartenders led by Jason made our visit enjoyable and looking forward to the next time. We understand the rooms will be renovated so if we liked it now it will only be better when we're back in January. The front desk situation is in need of fixing but understand the new management team is on top of it and making the necessary changes to ensure good customer service. With those changes in sure The Inn will be on its way to having 5 star consideration. read more

Accommodations were ok, beds are comfy, they earn a star for that. However the front desk is a total mess. We made a deposit well over $100 that they lost. They then decided I should pay in full in cash, which I certainly didn't do. they never answer the phone, and even if you go inside to speak to someone about reservations, or billing problems good luck-you may end up standing around with nobody talking to you or servicing you for 10 minutes. So they get one star for halfway decent rooms, but Jesus the service aspect of it fails on all fronts, this place needs to get a clue on how to interact with guests. read more

My husband and I had a lovely experience...the restaurant decor was not over done, the temperature was great especially for summer most places have the ac set to freeze. Our server was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a appetizer special, sea scallops it was absolutly the best I've ever had. My husband got the lobster mac & cheese, it was loaded with lobster, enough for 2 meals. I got the fish and chips and honestly again it was one of the best I've ever had....I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a lovely night out. Only thing I would add, is better signage we did have a bit of trouble figuring out where to enter for the restaurant..as we parked in the lower driveway, the upper driveway looked like it was for the hotel. read more

There are now three places I would recommend anyone to try around Lake Winnipisaukee. Lago, Patricks Pub, and now The Inn on Main. The food is excellent. The build your own burger is one of the best burgers you'll find in central NH. The rooms are very cozy. And the tv is HUGE for a hotel/motel. I like the old school key as well. I heard the place had been recently redone and you can kind of get the feel of a recent new direction while you're there but so far it feels like a good one. read more

I only joined Yelp to write a review for this. Our dinner experience was really quite terrible. We were eating here prior to a music concert also held at this location. Upon entering, there was an immediate unpleasant odor--a cross between chlorine and sewage. The decor was stark, modern and confusing. Replace the black and white checkered floor with a nice wooden floor and you'll improve the ambiance by 100%. Staff seemed harried and rushed and service was slow. The in and out door to the kitchen slammed loudly every time someone used it. An attempt was made to correct this problem by using a dish rag placed on the floor to dampen the sound, but it didn't work and looked nasty. Drinks were reasonably priced and apps were good. One meal came out a full 5-8 minutes before the other six meals. Entrees were less than desirable all around. Bland was the word that came to everyone's mind. Portions were on the smaller side. We all agreed we would not return to this restaurant. I would not recommend it. read more

I'm having trouble deciding on whether to rate this place 2 or 3 stars. So I'll settle with 3 but if I could rate it 2.5 I would. First of all the service was pretty amazing. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. When the hostess brought us to our table, she noticed I was cold and turned the AC down before I even had the chance to ask. Sadly I can't speak as kindly for the food. I ordered a special which was the New England clam chowder for an appetizer. It was pretty disappointing for a special and given the area. Very watery and tasteless. For the main course I ordered another special which was pan seared scallops on risotto. The scallops were very good, but as soon as I tasted the risotto, it was obvious that it has been sitting. It was barely lukewarm. Nothing was very impressive. read more

We just had our sons rehearsal dinner at our home and Magic Foods catered it, it was a 'tailgate party' and it was fantastic!!! We didn't have to worry about anything! They bring in a huge grill, tables, cutlery, tablecloths... the food was fabulous and the chef and the serving crew were amazing! We also had the wedding at O Bistro in the barn. Beth is the wedding co-ordinator and she is so great!!! She could not have been more accommodating! The food was so delicious, the ambiance was perfect and again the servers went above and beyond to make everyone feel special. Steve, the head chef is amazing! Easy and fun to work with and takes so much pride in his work. If you've ever organized a large event, you know it can get overwhelming, but I enjoyed this whole process so much, I'm going to miss working with them all! read more

I recently had my wedding at the barn at the inn on main. First of all the food was excellent!!! But even better than the food was the service. The waitstaff and bar tender did an amazing job! The day couldn't have been more perfect. They set up high tables on the back patio which people loved being able to go out there. My only complaint (and I know they did what they could) was the barn was really hot even with the AC. I think it was fine if you weren't dancing, but the dance floor was pretty toasty! Everything else was awesome! The room set up and lighting was very nice. We reserved the whole inn for guests as well and one of my bridesmaids said the beds were unbelievably comfortable. Everything was very clean and the hotel staff was wonderful. They now do breakfast on Saturdays and Sunday's which was perfect for my guests! There were beautiful flowers hanging in front of the rooms too. I would highly recommend using the inn on main for any functions you have. Under the new ownership they did a fantastic job! Scott, Andy and Beth were all great to work with. We are extremely grateful to the inn and all their staff for helping make our day so memorable. read more

Facility was very clean, but spartan and thus lacks a cozy atmosphere that we missed in a N.E. restaurant. Menu is limited and pricey with a lot of side dishes that cost upwards of $6.00. this makes for an expensive meal. They serve town tap water with a slice of cucumber. Yuck, but when we ordered the cucumber removed the water tasted very bad. Same for mixed drinks. A place like this should be able to afford a water filter. Meals were pleasantly served and tasteful. Only problem was that two of our meals were cold and had to be sent back for reheat. Good wine menu and reasonably priced. Inn on Main is worth a try, but needs to look at overall cost of what they supply. Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a full bar, but again a very cold atmosphere. Couldn't agree more with "Connie H, from Bedford." I'd assign it zero stars if it was available. We also paid $209 + tax for the last outdoor entry room in August, 2014. The room was old, cold, and devoid of wall coverings except for a TV with a remote that didn't work. No one was on duty in the foyer to help us. You can help yourself to free travel crackers (the cheesy ones, with old peanut butter in-between 2 crackers wrapped in cellophane that you get in vending machines on Interstates) in an alcove between the motel and the foyer, but not at night...the overhead light doesn't turn on to see what you're eating. My guess is, they've been there for years. The entry door had a scarred jamb, as though it had been broken into recently! Not the safest vision you want to see. I've stayed in NYC for less. Go down the street to The Wolfeboro Inn or The Lake Motel like we have since, for far better accommodations. They're both on the same road as this place, less than 2 minutes away. "Connie H from Bedford" was being generous...this place makes a Motel 6 look like the Ritz-Carelton. read more

Went to the Comedy Show in barn 11/10/12, before show went to the bar section for dinner and it to so long to get two sandwiches they had to bring it out to barn and it was awful, complained but nothing was done. Shouldn't have had to wait over an hour or even pay for crappy food. I had a BLT and there was one small tomato slice and the toasted bread was soggy. The comedians were funny and female bartender was awesome and made a great drink, but these two aspects were the businesses only assets that night. But will never eat here again, this was not my first time here and it has consistently been disapointing. I tried to support a new local business in his town and gave it the benefit of the doubt, but will not return. Did not know this site existed till today or would have wrote sooner. read more

Went there while on vacation with my family and so happy that i did. The food was simply amazing. Everything from the appetizer of calamari to our dinners was perfect. I ordered the half chicken and it was the juiciest chicken i have ever eaten. The hostess was very friendly and gave us a choice of where to sit in the front room or the back room. Our waitress was so sweet and very knowledgeable of the menu. We cant remember her name because were not the best with names but she was pregnant. read more

We had to make an emergency trip to Wolfeboro for a funeral. Booked one night at the Inn on Main. The price was very reasonable for what you get... a comfortable, spacious room, with fast free WiFi. Beds were comfortable, with extra pillows. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Hot water was nicely hot and plentiful. Free coffee, bagels and muffins in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I do agree with others that they need to work on their website, to make it easier to get in touch and reserve a room. read more

Excellent stay at the Inn on Main! Here on business, I had the pleasure of both staying and eating here. The hotel rooms are clean, spacious and have everything you need. The beds are to-die-for . . . I had the best nights sleep away from home ever! The wine list is great, with lots of choices and price ranges. The food is exceptional. I had the escargot appetizer, house salad and seared scallop dinner with orzo and tomato bisque, which happened to be on special. Each of these were prepared to perfection and sized appropriately. I also tasted the pepper-encrusted filet, which delicious. We tried all of the deserts, and all were noteworthy, but my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake. It was not too sweet , went well with both wine and coffee and was the perfect end to an awesome meal. The staff is friendly and helpful. If someone held a gun to my head and forced me to note an opportunity for improvement, I'd request a small coffee pot in the hotel room. I look very forward to my next visit! read more
