Kristin's (the owner/chief yogini) teacher training (YTT200) incorporates anatomy along the way of the coursework with an optional YTT100 personal development program, only attending the first half. The latter is good for those looking to grow in the understanding of their practice without the commitment to a full six months, or with no inkling to teach. Kristin organizes yoga immersion trips annually. This year Peru and Bhutan. Next year Italy is back on the schedule. They do offer a 6am class and going straight to work from here would be SO convenient. TYS specializes in Vinyasa Yoga. With fiery playlists, passionate instructors, and a hell of a community - all classes are heated, so get ready to sweat some! If you're not quite sure if this is for you, practice slow and opt for an all-levels or foundation class New students, your first class is free! The class itself was more crowded than what I'm accustomed to in New York and I found myself bumping into my neighbor a couple times which was uncomfortable. Imo they would really benefit from reducing the class sizes by 5-10%. I was also a little frustrated by the conflicting info on their website which said in two different places that all equipment was provided, and then separately that you were responsible for bringing your own mats and props. As it turns out, equipment IS provided, but that should really be updated for clarity's sake. All in all, a good and fun workout and I'll be back, but some frustrations with the studio as a whole.

The instructors are prepared, informative, and ready to modify sequences if students arrive with injuries. Students are encouraged to go to their "edge" and try poses, albeit listening to sensations within the body is also important to prevent injuries. After the 75 minute class relaxation is the sensation students feel. Then the teachers are available to answer questions or concerns. Richard and his staff are all excellent instructors who push you to practice at your best while respecting where everyone is at. They frequently train and bring back new techniques and coaching to get the most out of the postures. I'll miss classes here now that a new space has opened up closer to me. If you're considering Bikram yoga, I can't recommend Richard and his staff enough.
