    Chicken Pot Pie Dinner
    Charlene C.

Ate here with family, total 6 adults and a toddler. High chairs were available and there is a private family restroom with a baby changing table. Took a long time to get our food, about 50 minutes starting from sitting down. They did have other larger parties present and it seemed busy. So we spent about a good 2 hrs total. Our waitress was friendly, but we didn't see her too much throughout our dinner. The rest of the staff interaction we had was good, everyone was nice. Everyone liked their food from the potato soup, IPA chicken, steak to New York style cheesecake. I had the chicken pot pie, served with a puff pastry on top and bottom. It was good, everything a chicken pot pie should be, creamy, thick and comforting. Atmosphere was nice. Lots of booth seating and lights. It was still decorated with Christmas decorations in the side corner where we sat.

Very hard to find a restaurant that offers good fries since everything is now sea salt, but the fries at Irish Times are PERFECT!!!! Every now and then, I just get the fries to-go because they are that good. For dining, I've only ate there a few times but food was pretty good. Skirt steak could have been better. Bar service is very quick and the restaurant is very clean.

we just had my daughters 30th birthday party at Irish Times in Holbrook. What a blast! Colm, Laurie and the staff helped make that all possible. They were great! The service was awesome and the food was delicious!!!!

I messaged them about happy hour and got back that they wonderful happy hour specials including half off on appetizers, and numerous drink specials. I decided to stop by with a buddy and when the menus didn't mention any of it I asked and got an attitude and was told it's $2 off draft. I showed the bartender the message so she would see what's being marketed. Then I got the riot act about her being there 14 years and never having anything like it. I could care less how long you've been there, there is a way speak to people and just be nice. Obviously someone from your bar gave me wrong info and I'm sharing that with you, especially if other people are getting the same . It's amazing how people can't be civil anymore.

Fun atmosphere with good service and a good bar. Reasonable prices and open late! Always a plus! Outdoor seating in good weather too.

The food here is not to my liking. The restaurant is too big and very roomy. I like a more cozy place

Placed a To-Go order. Besides the entire order being completely messed up, the chicken was tough and the burger was mooing. 3/10.

The service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and we enjoyed our meals immensely. On Sunday, I had the delicious fried chicken salad and a side of chips which I devoured. My wife had the pan seared salmon which she absolutely loved! In fact, we're looking forward to our next visit to one of our favorite new dining spots! PS they take reservations!

Came here for dinner on a summer evening for just a table of two with no reservation, we had no…read morewait and even had the option to sit outside or inside (we opted for in). Off the bat, I won't lie I got some "Applebee's" type feelings from the place, but I wasn't going to pass judgment on a place simply by how it looks, my mother taught me better! But granted you could probably argue that for a lot of American bistro style restaurants that try to have that hometown local feel to it with all the stuff hanging on the walls. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, our server especially, Alexa, really felt like she was going out her way to check in on us and how everything was which did feel nice. For food we started with the spinach artichoke dip, a classic and this one was just as good as I've had anywhere, but most importantly they give you plenty of chips! For entrees, I went with the Philly cheesesteak and my girlfriend went with the brisket French dip with mozzarella cheese. Both were delicious but I think my girlfriend beat me this time with her choice! The choice of brisket over a typical roast beef is an interesting one for a French dip, but I do love a good brisket and this one was certainly tasty. The Philly wasn't you're traditional cheesesteak either, but it scratched my itch (but do be warned that thing comes out HOT!). Both came with a deceivingly large basket of fries that were fresh and crispy and a nice salty to compliment to our sandwiches. I really enjoyed trying this one and they had a bunch of interesting specials that I contemplated trying too, which makes me eager to come back again and see what other new tasty options they might have in store!

Seeing they had a Wednesday special, I decided to put off my adventure from Roslyn to Ronkonkoma from Monday to Wednesday. I also found a bunch of things I was interested in to pad my experience and make the drive worth it. The waitress came quickly, got our drink orders, took a few minutes, and we started our order. I started off by getting the Fire Island Fries, the Flanagan's Nachos minus Jalapenos and Chipotle Ranch, sub the chicken in, the Fish and Chips special with additional pay for French Onion Soup and Curry sauce, and my friend got the Penne Alla Vodka add chicken. I asked how the Mozzarella sticks were and she said they were very popular so I got those as well. We'll start with my addition. The mozzarella sticks are good. Fried properly, not raw, not burnt, you get I believe 9 in an order. I greatly enjoyed them, however I would never pay more than a buck for a small brick of cheese. They were great, but not that great. The nachos were very barebones, something getting them at full capacity wouldn't have done much for. The queso is gross, and put me off from eating too much. The avocado was a single, sliced avocado which is fine, but pretty hard to eat with chips. The chicken was a bit of an issue, not tasting great. The fire island fries were good, I enjoyed the flavor change, but I feel like some cheddar would have made them from "good" to "amazing". Adding cheddar to my leftovers later confirmed that. The french onion soup was the shiniest turd I've had the experience of eating. It is the best of the worst, in every way. The cheese tastes a bit off, the broth did't have much flavor or salt, the onions were sour, and overall it looks tremendous, proper quality, but tasted like I was eating expired progresso with some sour cheese melted over it. I love proper French Onion soup, but this was very difficult to force myself to eat. The penne alla vodka was fine, but they could have added more salt, it just felt a little bland. The chicken was hard and dry. It didn't work with the dish itself, it felt like eating two different things at once, neither of them tasting as good as they should. The fish and chips were the real star. The fish was as crunchy as you expect, the chips were proper chips. The curry was hot but delicious, everything was absolutely fantastic. If I was reviewing on the fish and chips alone, this place would absolutely get five dtars. But they need to work on the other areas of their menu, they're heavily dragging this place down. I also got the donut with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. A donut from dunkin would have been better in my opinion, and you would save $10 assembling everything yourself. Finally, the service. It was very here and there. At first, we were getting checked up on often, but at the end, there was a good 20 minute stint where they wouldn't show up at our table and we had to flag them over to get our check. I'm not rating this against them, but I would have liked a little more observation. It was a one and done place, with excellent fish and chips this side of the pond. If I was closer, this would be a Wednesday night thing, but I'm too far to justify that.
