This has been a Patchogue favorite for many years. Food is always fresh and delicious. Small but cozy and friendly atmosphere.

I was craving a burger...but not just any burger. I wanted THE BEST burger! Just so happens that the local paper recently named this place as having one of the BEST burgers...so off we went. This place is tiny...but, charmingly so. It reminds me of an old man's bar, which is a compliment because those are my favorites. Well stocked bar, clean, with a friendly bartender and butts in every stool. Made me want to come back another time and just hang out to watch a game or something. But I digress. I was there for a burger, not the booze, right? So on to the dining area. There were maybe 10 tables in a small area. Mostly set for 4 and 2 guests, with one set for a party of 5. After a 10-minute or so wait, we were seated. We both ordered burgers; me, the 1900 with bleu cheese, and my dining partner a plain old burger. Both were delivered fairly quickly and both were deliciously delightful! The burger was huge and cooked to perfection! The fries....yum! Thick steak fries, my favorite! The side of coleslaw was creamy, and the pickles were crisp. I cannot think of one bad thing to say about this place or the food. I look forward to returning and trying something else! read more

My wife and I continued our tradition of St Patrick's Day dinner at Reese's 1900. As always, it was extremely crowded. Despite the crowd we were seated almost immediately. Dinner always begins with their delicious Cole slaw and pickles. The pickles are a mix of round thinly sliced semi sour pickles and sour dill spears. Both are great. The Cole slaw is fresh and moist. Since it was St Paddy's Day, of course, we ordered the corned beef and cabbage dinner. The corned beef was great. Perfectly seasoned and tender. The potatoes were also done to perfection. I find the cabbage to be a little too firm for my taste and it didn't fully absorb the flavor of the corned beef. The portion is tremendous. In fact, too big for the plate. A larger plate would have made it easier to cut the large amount of food . Overall, great meal. On other visits we have enjoyed the burgers, sandwiches and soups. Their French onion soup is a winner. It is very rich and flavorful. The staff is extremely pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere embodies a traditional Irish Pub. The food is good, but it's super expensive! $15 dollars for a grilled cheese sandwich that was just two slices of bread and two pieces of cheese and tomato and bacon. I would have gotten a burger, but it was $20! The service is alright, they seemed kind of annoyed at us when we sat down. The place is really small, but the back room has some nice ambience. Also, just so you know there's an extra dollar charge if you pay with a card. Which is fine, but the food is already super expensive, that the extra dollar seems unecessary. read more

Reese's was once a staple pub in Patchogue. However, my experience last night was not one to remember; it was one to forget. Ordered the meatloaf dinner that comes with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The meatloaf was decent at first but after I ate 50% of it, I started to feel unsettled. It could have been just me in the moment, but I likely wouldn't order this again. Only served with 3 pieces of small broccoli; felt like they could've been a bit more generous with the vegetable portion. The mashed potatoes were good, but nothing to rave about. My brother ordered the naked chili (without cheese and sour cream) and he said it was like just sloppy joe in a bowl because it lacked beans. He also ordered the wings and mentioned they were the worst wings he's ever had in his life. This was a strong feeling for him. It was because the wings didn't have any seasoning, they were dry, and didn't have a lot of meat on them. The service could have been better too. I felt like our server didn't want to serve last night. Pretty short-spoken and didn't rave about any specific dishes when we asked about the most popular menu item. I did like the small pub ambiance vibe, but may only come here again when they aren't as busy and may only get a drink at the bar if I frequent this restaurant in the future. read more

My favorite pub. Not really a pub gal but this one has all the charm & snacks to draw me in & keep me coming back. Heard about their burger being amazing. Never tried it. I always get side tracked by the soups & salads & nothing beats their ham + cheese on rye with russian dressing OTS. French onion soup, yaaaas please. Their pickles are what pickle dreams are made of. Pickled in house, fresh cucumber-y circles & your classic dill spears as well. Their coleslaw is better than your Great Aunt's secret recipe. Bartender was super cool & provided fantastic service. Made me a beautiful Old Fashioned. Guinness draft available. Duh. Parking available in small lot adjacent to barbershop & pub. One thing that Suffolk County gets right, it's the bar/restaurant scene. There are at least three spots in this area that we frequent when we are here for a good burger, and a great beer. We are now adding Reese's to the list. This spot has graced many a list of having the best burger on Long Island. Surprisingly, I have yet to try the burger or the spot for that matter. Since we were out here I thought now would be a perfect time. We walked into a classic old-school bar. To the left of the bar are a few tables where we could sit. They haven't upstairs but it's not open at the moment. Walking in to a bar with a baby is always an experience. Sometimes you get nasty looks and sometimes you are warmly welcomed. I have to say this is one of the times we were welcomed with open arms and the staff was super accommodating. We usually come out prepared with our own booster seat, and the staff was super impressed by this. It didn't take us long to order as we came here for the burger. And it did not disappoint! Quality meat was cooked to a perfect medium and topped with bacon and my choice of cheese which was American. A nice surprise was the fries that came along with the burger, which were potato wedges. Before our delicious bacon cheeseburgers, we were given pickles and coleslaw which were also delicious! They did not have a kids menu but they had classic kids food such as chicken fingers and fries etc. They were able to make my son of mini burger and he enjoyed that as well. I called to inquire if a reservation was necessary and was told that it was on a first come first served basis. We arrived at 6:00 pm and were told the wait would be 15 minutes. I have been here once so far. I haven't eaten here yet but the food that came out looked good and most of the customers seemed happy so I can't wait to try the food. As a bar, the bartender was friendly, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Lastly I notice the staff would not let an intoxicated individual was not allowed to enter the premises. While I was there I enjoyed a nice Russell Reserve 10 year. I'll definitely be back to check it out again and get some food. read more

What an adorable cozy little establishment. I brought my mom here after she told me the story of her and my dad in their younger years coming here. The food was great especially the coleslaw and the potatoes wedges. They served pickles before the burgers and I did enjoy the change up. They even tasted home made. We had excellent service. The bar area has a few clear dividers and the tables were socially distance apart. The staff were all wearing masks . And before we sat down the table was cleaned again. This place is COVID friendly. My office ordered from Reese's 1900 for my birthday. I had heard a lot of good things about their burgers so I ordered one. It came with cole slaw and pickles on the side as well as wedge fries. I was not blown away by the burger. It was under seasoned, I had to add a little bit of salt because the flavor was just not there. Disappointing! The cole slaw however was very delicious. A bit on the sweeter end which I like in cole slaw. The pickles were also very good, definitely tasted like they pickle in house. The wedge fries were decent, they also came unseasoned which isn't unheard of so I added salt to them too. The burger brings bacon but I could hardly taste it in the burger? It was one small strip. One of the best places for that home cooked meal experience. The staff have been there forever and engage you and are super friendly. The best way to describe Reese's would be, "It is what it is, and it ain't what it ain't." My wife and I stopped by months ago and now come by every Friday and are proud to be regulars. Why? She loves that the cheese makes a nice thump when you tap it with your spoon! Nice and thick, and the rich, hearty flavor will win you over. Do not miss the 55 mph chili! Not spicy (plenty of Tabasco on hand) but the flavor runs deep and true. You'll love it. On to the cocktails! The incredible folks behind the bar will make you any drink you want within their means, but remember this is an Irish pub so order accordingly! Really cool place, really nice staff. This place used to be good. It needs a new chef or line cooks. The food has become embarrassing. Whoever has been cooking lately doesn't season anything. Once again, another awesome dinner before our show (Stanton Anderson Band) at 89 north. The service was great, George our waiter was on top of things and took great care of our table. We ordered onion soup (I love it), cheddar cheese burger and fries but the spot, the steak sandwich was amazing, Turkey club was tremendous and delicious, and the sandwich soup combo enjoyed as well. The food and service were really good. It's incredibly busy during the evenings. Even on a Wednesday night, which is when I went, it was plenty packed - but still able to get seating at around 7:30 PM for 4. It does have a classic pub interior - but it's super cozy. Meals that were ordered were: chicken cordon blue, Shepard's pie, Buffalo wings and Rye sandwich. All the food came out great. Definitely want to go back for the burger. The check wasn't bad either! Got a few beers with the meals and pre-tip was 140$ - which I believe is a pretty fair price. I will say the only note I would bring up is that they do upcharge for card transactions. I've passed this place many times and always said I must stop in one day. It was the closest place to school on a super cold day, so we went in for lunch. I had grilled cheese with bacon on rye and french fries. My fries were steak fries with the skin still on, so I loved them! They cooked them crispy but not burnt, just as I asked. They even had my very favorite Grey Poupon. The people with me had chili with extra cheese, which I don't suggest because you can't possibly eat all of that cheese, so I would order it as is. Saturday night had to wait a bit for a table that wasn't any issue. Pot roast special was not good more like sliced roast beef. While finishing dinner the waiter asked if we wanted another drink and we accepted. Five minutes later the manager is harassing us to leave. "I have people waiting why did you order more drinks!". This place has a wonderful cozy atmosphere with waiters and waitresses that take great care of their customers with a genuine attitude. The food here is great! Although, they do not have a kids menu they do have kid food items, just ask what they are. The pastrami and corn beef is terrific and sliced thin with a touch of crisp at the ends. They have a moderate selection of beer and wine. I have been here twice and is a must have every time we visit.
