Cranberry and Walnut Salad with Grilled Chicken and a Balsamic Vinegar Dressing. I also enjoyed Tommy's Ale

I wanted to visit as many restaurants and bars on Main Street, there are plenty as well as on West Broadway and East Broadway. Tommy's Place is an excellent choice for lunch and dinner with friends. It's an Irish Restaurant with a beautiful mahogany bar in the front. I met with Kelsey, the bartender who greeted me like an old friend and welcomed me to sit wherever I wanted?

Looking for a casual night out with friends in Port Jefferson and we found the perfect spot on this Saturday night. Think bar & grill for Tommy's Place. There are TVs so you can catch your sports games and news. Having never been here, we were drawn to the outdoor dining on this gorgeous evening out. We were quickly seated by our waiter. He was super friendly and happy to be our server for the night. Not the fish and chips I'm used to in that it was made with panko crumbs instead of beer battered. But it was fresh and yummy. Others ordered burgers and focaccia bread pizza, which they all enjoyed. Great night out with friends with absolutely NO rushing us out to clear a table. Overall pleasantly surprised by service, ambience & food. We'll come back again!

Came for dinner and sat outside in the patio area. It is in the small parking lot but still kinda blocked off and private. The staff was friendly. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share. Everything was cooked well. It was on the pricey said but that is probably more because of the location of the restaurant. The calamari special was really good. I ordered the chicken fingers and sweet potato fries and they were standard tasting but good too!

Excellent choice for Father's Day, as most other restaurants had a price fixe menu for Father's Day. Outdoor seating was a breeze (literally) and their Tommy's IPA works very well with their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. The greens in the side salad were crunchy and flavorful. The Bavarian pretzel can be shared with 3 persons easily and comes with 3 dipping sauces. Our server Lisa was excellent. Will return when back in the Port Jeff area!

Mix feeling about this place. The four of us ordered different dishes to try, and some were surprisingly tasty, while others were quite disappointing. The highlights were the ahi tuna and the seafood diablo. Both dishes were executed well, and the portion on the seafood diablo was big enough for two. Now comes the disappointing dishes - first up, mango mạhi-mahi. It was meh, especially when you compare it against the ahi tuna, which was the same price as the mahi-mahi. The worst dish of it all was the sliced steak. We asked for rare, and it came out well done. The waitress apologized and offered to bring a new dish, but we were pretty full and didn't wanna wait again as it took a while for this dish to come out. We had a feeling that the kitchen prepped it a while back, but it was left on the counter, which continued to cook while the steak was on the skillet. For a juicy steak lover, this dish was terrible. It is too bad that this was the last thing I remember for dining here.

The food was great, definitely recommend the buffalo chicken wrap or Tommy's burger. Get the chipotle sauce. Ava was amazing!

We had a table near the bar and the ambiance is very pretty, but can be a little dark. Noise level was perfect, could easily talk to everyone without feeling like I was hard of hearing. Service was kind and helpful, but it certainly felt slow. I would have ordered more drinks if they just had come around and checked in on us a touch more frequently! Although it did seem like they might have been down some staff that night, so I don't fully ding them for that. The most convenient parking is the paid lot right in front, but there is some street parking further away if you're willing to walk a little. The real reason you're here though is the food and drinks! Starting with cocktails, I tried their mezcal version of an espresso martini, 43 Espressions, it's a little bolder than your typical espresso martini, but that's what I also like about it more. Also tried the Lavender Fields, which is a delightfully fresh summer/spring cocktail that is very easily sippable. For a quick appetizer I tried the French onion soup, as classic as it ever has been. When you have found perfection, there is no need to try and reinvent it, and luckily they don't! On to the mains. I had Dave's Roasted Chicken. Perfectly cooked and the sides of paella rice and asparagus make an excellent pairing, serving size is the right amount to fill you up. Also tried their tagliatelle with red pepper romesco and skirt steak, which was fresh and not an overwhelming pasta portion like I'm typically used to from any Italian place. Even in spite of the less than stellar service time, I'd love to comeback here and try out more of the menu, especially some of their steak options and get a chance to try out the dessert menu too!

The food and service were great, and I want to acknowledge our server Christine, who was a real joy to interact with. We stopped in for a Friday lunch. I ordered a salad and one of the soup specials. My Burrata Salad was $14 for a big portion of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and basil topped with a big hunk of burrata cheese, roasted peppers and a balsamic glaze. The salad was excellent, especially the creamy decadent Burrata. Half of it came home with us. My soup was a cup of Mediterranean Lentil for $6. It came in a bowl-sized portion with a big hunk of fresh Italian bread. Both were great, and I loved how the soup was served piping hot and not tepidly lukewarm like so many places serve their soups. My wife ordered an Eggplant Parmigiana Flatbread, and this is where Christine displayed her customer service skills. She told us the restaurant had run out of Eggplant the night before and ran back to the kitchen to see if there was a new supply ready for today. She came back and said it hadn't been fully prepped yet, so it wasn't available, but would we like to try Cauliflower Parmigiana instead? That sounded intriguing to us, and we agreed. The flatbread that came out ($16) was delicious. Big nuggets of sauteed Cauliflower with cheese and marinara sauce on a flatbread. It tasted so good, we vowed to try making our own Cauliflower Parm at home. Lunch ran around $40 after tax and tip, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Port Bistro & Pub.
