If you love checking in late to a once-nice room that has fallen into grievous disrepair with dog and human hair everywhere, this is the place for you! If you love the smell of cheap detergent and a bed that will leave you half crippled, this place is your best bet. If you are four feet tall and weigh 85 pounds, you will LOVE the shower here! Wow, just wow! The owner/manager does NOT care. I know a lot of the locals here are alcohol-depedant, and it really shows. This area really needs an addiction treatment center and some managers trained by magor corporations in larger metropolitan areas. The standards are low, the prices are high, and the manager is permanently out to lunch!

This was a wonderful weekend getaway for my wife and I. The Zanzibar theme room was great. Jacuzzi in the room, fire pit right out the front door, and a beautiful view of Flathead Lake. The staff was very friendly and personable. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood. Our stay was in earl March, so not high tourist season. This time is too chilly to play in the lake at all, but the plus side of that is the beach is deserted and perfect for a peaceful walk.

Dock at the Raven across the street from The Islander. My friend looking out onto the lake.

Not only have I stayed here many times, but I will keep coming for more. Great little bar on tje lake across the street called The Raven. Snother great restaurant next to the hotel called Bonfire with seasonal menus or rotating I think. The rooms were super clean and comfy, it was close to anything we needed and in such a serene place. What a beautiful place to be and stay!

We…read moreopted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's. Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

The view of the lake is one if a kind! Gorgeous. The food was exceptional ! All kinds of delicious breakfast treats. And the owners were very helpful with information about local things to see and do in and out of Glacier. And they even loaned us BEAR SPRAY!! Thanks guys for making our visit so memorable.

So, we spent a few nights here 1 1/2 years ago and we felt very unwelcome. I had emailed with the owners before making our reservations to make sure they could accommodate our food preferences, and they said they could. We booked the nicest, most expensive room and were looking forward to our stay. Upon arrival, the summer host ( I don't recall his name) really killed our joy. We introduced ourselves, and since my name is not common, I said a little helper tip for him to pronounce it, to which he replied, "I'm not even going to try" and then he just talked to my husband. He then asked if in addition to our food preferences we had "any other crazy requests". Wow, we spent $1400 and within 2 minutes of arrival this guy totally dismissed us. Everything after that was dim. We absolutely would not return, nor would I recommend this place to others.
