Quarter loaf #5 (like a muffuletta)
Tracy S.

The berry tiramisu is to die for! It's a little pricey ($9.99/slice) and worth every penny. The rich mascarpone is the perfect sweetness. It would be worthy of a last meal. The #5 sandwich is hot, fresh, savory, tangy, soft where it should be, crunchy where it should be, and perfect if you love giardiniera. It's amazing!!!! I'd get this again any time, every time. The chicken vodka parm sandwich (#57) is good. It was served hot and fresh. It's messy. It was nice to try it, but I actually liked #5 better.

#12 hot Italian sausage

Small quaint restaurant that serves homemade hot and cold sandwiches with a cozy family feel. They also sell a small amount of homemade sausages, foods and Italian groceries. Got a hot Italian sausage sandwich-they have 2 different ones, I got the #12 with onions, peppers, cheese and "everything sauce" on it. The sandwich was delicious, but I honestly didn't care for the everything sauce.... Tasted like a cross between barbecue and tomato sauce. Next time I would get it and request the homemade tomato sauce. Overall, it was a great place, a great sandwich and with such a large selection I would probably try the muffaletta or Ruben next time

Definitely do not judge by the plain exterior. A little shop in a strip plaza that packs a big punch. We stopped in around 2:00 on a Wednesday and it was busy with both sit down dinners and to go orders. We ordered the#13 Chicken Spedini sausage and the #57 Chicken Vodka parm sandwich. Both were delicious but the chicken park stole the show! The spedini sausage was not over garlicky like it can be and came with a very creamy alfredo sauce on a hoagie roll. The chicken vodka parm has 2 large breaded chicken cutlets vodka as sauce and plenty of melted mozzarella. The serving is generous and can be shared. We also bought some Italian cookies from the small grocery inside. They were very delightful. Outside there were 2 picnic tables and inside there was plenty of seating with a tasteful Italian decor.

We have had so many sandwiches, my favorite is the #3. Spicy and delicious. This time we had the Chop #25 and #29. Both were great and I would The chop #25, has so much flavor!! And you get everything in every bit. The rapini was great with Porchetta. Really nice pairing on #29.

Grabbed lunch with a friend at The Italian Sausage Co. this week and boy oh boy, have I been missing out! I ordered the #22 which the menu said "slaps harder than a nun in Sunday school" and boy were they right! So much flavor and meat, the bread was just perfect, not too hard not too soft. My friend ordered the #7 which I tried as well and was also delicious and packed full of flavor, mostly bread on this one but the bread was so soft and fluffy! I wasn't a fan of the ready made pasta salad but the sandwiches are fire!!

Oh my gosh! A friend told me about this place so when we happened to be up north one day we made a stop. I got the #7. The woman asked if I wanted a half loaf and I said yes. At first I thought it was slightly pricy but it did have a lot of deli meat on it so I just shrugged it off. Then I got my sandwich. A half loaf was literal! This sandwich was HUGE. It could be split between two people making the price make more sense and more affordable. It was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've had in a while and I live near some pretty good places. The little shop was cute and offered other Italian fare which was pretty exciting. The only downside is that I live in south KC! I can't wait to come back to try other things on their menu.

It's good-- just barely making the four-star mark. I think I'm still trying to find my perfect sando on their menu though. I've tried the #1 and #3, and they just left something to be desired. The #1 came on bread that was a little dry/stale, and the #3 wasn't spicy at all. I do enjoy that they let you add baked eggplant onto any sandwich, and they don't skimp on the cured meats! Just FYI, the menu online is not the full menu they have in the restaurant, so the location is worth a visit if you have time.

#57?

Loved this place! Husband got the classic #7 and I got the vodka sauce chicken cutlet (I think #57 but I can't find the whole menu online). We absolutely both items! My husband does not love arugula or mustard but this sandwich had both and he was very pleased. You could easily taste the freshness of the ingredients- delicious! Staff was very pleasant as well!

The Italian Sausage company currently expanded and now they have dining area. The sandwiches are FANTASTIC. If you're a salad lover like me you will love the salads here. Great service, good food and just a fantastic little hidden gem that you must try. My favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak

Come hungry, leave happy. Making some of the freshest and most flavorful Italian deli sandwiches I have ever had. They recently expanded their space to offer dine in seating. The space is welcoming with beautiful decor and even offering outdoor seating. You can tell this family owned business treats everyone like family. They take pride in how they interact with customers and put a ton of love into their food. The menu is full of variety and I can't wait to visit again. Also available at Kauffman Stadium (section 234) & Arrowhead (section 134)

The Gobbler
Danielle A.

Every time I come here it's a home run. I love The Choo sandwich and soooo happy they added it to the full time menu. Recently they added a temporary sandwich to the menu for Thanksgiving called The Gobbler. All the favorite Thanksgiving foods on a fresh baked roll. The used turkey from the best bbq place in KC, Wolfepack BBQ. Highly recommend trying this sandwich when they have it.

Trying to capture how delicious everything was in one review is tough, but I'll give it my best. First off, customer service was outstanding--Lyssa truly knocked it out of the park. She was so delightful, and I couldn't help but laugh when we both got excited about my sandwich choice. These folks really know their stuff. They treat their animals with care and expertise, and it shows. Having been to many fine dining spots, I can honestly say the quality of meat here at The Upper Cut KC surpasses them all. I'm picky about my food and can tell great quality when I see it & taste it. The Upper Cut KC deserves way more than five stars--seriously, I mean it! I also tasted my daughter's brisket sandwich--absolutely tender beyond words. And don't miss their Mac & Cheese; it's worth a standing ovation! Do yourself a favor: just go and experience it! P.S.--The Butcher Shop inside brings back so many nostalgic memories.

4 star food, 3 star pricing and wait time…read more I'm not one to complian about pricing much but $31 for just this sandwich and small side is discouraging when compared to available options in the city. I thought the brisket sandwich was fairly tasty, but it wasn't huge, the onions weren't carmelized they were grilled, and the brisket wasn't smokey. The Mac and cheese was fine and good but not great. If I lived closer and I could get the above with a soda for $20-23, I would give it 4 stars. There's nothing amazing about it to earn 5 stars even if it were priced like I wish. The place wasn't that busy, but with one register running, 4 people in line, and ringing up 2 butcher orders that came in after I was there, it took me about 12 minutes to place the order and another 20 to have my sandwich and side.

I've been buying cows for about 11 years. I have 3 farmer buddies I buy from, and through them,…read moreI've used multiple butchers. I can confidently say that Paradise has been the worst butcher I've ever used. Is the product I received good? No. Did I receive everything I paid for? No. I've been buying through this specific farmer friend for about two years now. He decided to try out Paradise because they are closer to him, as opposed to driving several hours to the butcher we had used before. Well, this is where the nightmare began. He picked up the beef and delivered it to my house on a Saturday morning. He and I unloaded the truck while my wife loaded the freezer. Before he left, he told me to take the receipt and double-check that we weren't missing anything. The receipt ended up in one of the boxes used for delivery, so I didn't check it right away. We didn't look for it until Monday and by that time our farmer had already left for vacation. Once he got back, he sent me a picture of the receipt, and we went through our beef. To our dismay, we discovered that we were missing all 24 steaks and one roast. As soon as I realized this, I let my friend know, and he immediately notified Paradise. That's when the headache began. They told him to have us count again, make a list of everything we are missing, and contact them with the list. My wife called them, as they had asked, and their response was, "Well, we don't have it, so your farmer must have taken it." My wife was pretty shocked at this point because we had done everything they asked, yet their immediate response was to dismiss the situation and basically accuse our farmer of stealing the steaks. I contacted my friend and he called the manager to let them know we were less than impressed with the customer service at this point. They apologized and said they would help resolve the issue. Well, that turned out to be a lie, as they never returned a call to my friend until he threatened to get his lawyer involved. By this point, we had cooked our first batch of ground beef and it was a disappointment. In 11 years of buying beef, I've never received such low-quality hamburger before. Normally the hamburger I've received has been 90/10, maybe 85/15. This junk is 70/30 at best! We cooked 4 lbs of beef and drained over a pound of fat. It was so bad that we had to drain it twice because it wouldn't cook properly-it was literally being boiled in the fat. My other concern is that if they added an extra 15% of fat to the hamburger, shouldn't I have more packages of beef than usual? I can tell you I have no more than I've ever had when buying from other places. Well, they finally called my friend back, and he informed them that not only was I missing meat, but the quality was also sub-par. He told them they needed to figure out how to reimburse me for both the missing items and the poor quality ground beef. The manager said, "give me until Monday and I will call you back." Once again, that turned out to be a lie, as we haven't been able to reach them on the phone again. I was never asking for all my money back, or for them to substitute for the missing product; I just wanted a refund for the items I never received and a portion for the terrible hamburger. My recommendation to others at this point is to look somewhere else for a butcher, as Paradise's customer service is terrible. You might never hear back from them, the meat quality is poor, and you might not even receive your full order! My question is: Where did my missing steaks go, where is the extra hamburger, and for goodness sake, where's your phone?

There is ample parking and this store is located in a strip mall so there is easy access. Everything is sparkling clean and has a very nice atmosphere about the shop. Tremendously impressed with this gem of a shop.

It is in a small corner of North Kansas City and looks like a simple little supermarket with an Italian deli inside but the food here is really outstanding!!! They sell authentic Italian food like Italian sandwiches, pizzas, strombolis and moreeee. It was 100% worth the drive from South Overland Park and I am already thinking when I can go again. We went for lunch and ordered the Italian beef sandwich and the Angry Capone pizza. Both were really good and we did not expect it to be this tasty. The Italian beef was cooked perfectly and was tender at every bite with the right amount of cheese and spicy peppers. The pizza was even better!! It had a nice crispy base and was full of good toppings like Italian beef, smashed meatballs, pepperoni, lots of cheese and spicy peppers. I love spicy food so I really enjoyed it. Everything was hot, cheesy, a little spicy and very flavorful. If I have to choose between the two , I would pick the pizza over the sandwich. The supermarket part is also very well kept and offers wide variety of options to buy ranging from groceries to fresh flowers/herbs . Along with the Deli, they also sell homemade barbecue slabs, burnt ends, local Amish food, frozen pizzas, desserts like chocolate cake and vanilla cake, and also dishes like meatballs spaghetti, pasta and many many more fresh frozen grab and go dishes.
