The Sunday Brunch is the best in Huron County! Also, had the lamb and mint for dinner. That was a treat!

Well, I've only been back in London for the past five years. I only found out about this place…read more(The Well) from my friend in Nova Scotia!! Went down there on Feb 29/24, lights off, doors locked, no 'back' entrance that I could see. I called their number, it went to a MITEL ANSWERING SYSTEM, and am still awaiting a callback. Today (Mar 1/24) I called their Toronto Queen and Hamilton numbers. All went to MITEL ANSWERING SYSTEM. Still no callback from ANY location. Am I really excluded from the LGBT community, or have they moved, or what?

I don't know if the DJ was the same but the music was awesome both of the times, keep the good work!!! The staff is friendly; the bartender told me Rye and ginger is the most drank combination, so when in Canada do as they, just watch out, tastes smoothly but hits you hard, well maybe after the 4th. This second time a guy had the amazing touch of sending me a drink (thank you!!). This time I arrived too early, people started showing up around 11:30. A bizarre anecdote: a lady approached me, booty bumped me, asked where I was from and left. A cool thing: while dancing a luchador appeared with lights in the shoes. For a moment I felt I was dancing in Playa del Carmen. I'll be back!!

Stone-chiselled steps lead you down to this wonderful room with warm tones and stone walls adding to the ambiance and character of the building. There are dining tables and a piano near the bar, and a private dining room close by, but the nicest feature (to me) is the dining room that's built out from the main structure, sitting right over the Grand River and Elora Gorge. Gorgeous! Get it? JK and I dropped in for lunch on one of our crawls. We chose a table closest to the Tooth of Time (see photo) and waterfall just on the other side of the floor to ceiling windows. We actually switched tables shortly after because the sunlight was so bright. The view of the gorge was just as impressive. We were wandering around the St. Jacobs Farmers Market earlier, munching on stuff, so we weren't too hungry. The lunch menu had quite a few things that sounded good but we decided to share an order of the Glazed Thatcher Farms Pork Belly (braised cabbage, roasted squash purée, wild mushrooms). The presentation was beautiful and it tasted really good! It was cooked perfectly - tender, moist, flavourful. Excellent dish. Their cocktail menu had a lot of interesting concoctions but we chose water and coffee. I know, it sounds boring but we still had a few stops planned on our long way home - all breweries. Yes, I was thinking responsibly! I'll have to come back to sample more of their menu. Our server was recommending their desserts. Next time. I may just have to plan a stay at the hotel so I can go through their cocktail menu. Highly recommended.

We were dearly craving the roasted apple featured on their online menu before, but it turns out that the apple has been replaced with the homemade mulled wine and biscotti! Meanwhile, she ordered the Londonlicious autumn salad, the vegetarian toasts, and the creme brulee. While the food wasn't drop-dead amazing, the service was great! I had attempted to get a reservation the day before, but was told that they were fully booked. When we arrived, they had originally wanted to seat us down at the bar, but after considering it, they offered a table for two that we would have to return in an hour. That being said, we never felt rushed in our meal - they never hinted at us to leave, even when the other couple who had made the reservation arrived Instead, they sat that pair down at the couches, and asked us politely if it would be okay to give us the bill now. They were very friendly and considerate (and thus, the extra star)! Our appetizers came first, and we were quite surprised at the small portion sizes. My ceviche was tiny! The cracker/chip was well-done (very crispy and tasty), but there was very little tuna - just very little to eat in general. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her brie at first, but then found it overly heavy after a while. This was a recurring theme, as it turns out all their vegetarian options have brie (she's vegetarian). Our entrees came next, and again, I was quite shocked at the smaller portion size. That being said, I found it adequately filling, and I was actually fairly satisfied by the end of the main meal! The smoked salmon was delicious! My absolute favourite was the pickled onion one... the slight sourness balanced out the saltiness of the salmon perfectly. The raspberry compote was good, but a little too sweet. I was excited to eat the caviar one, but found that they added too much of the herb garlic aioli. I believe there was some dill and/or cream cheese in it, which drowned out any flavour of the caviar/salmon completely! This was my least favourite, because it was quite heavy. My friend's vegetarian toasts came in three pairs (totalling six). I tried her grilled peach and candied pecan one. Although I enjoyed it, I wasn't a fan of the cheese spread. I think it would have been tastier without it! She was unable to finish the pear and brie ones, mainly because by that time she was quite full/sick with the heavy brie (it came with her appetizer as well). The desserts came last. By this point, I regretted ordering the cheese and fruit board, because I wanted something light to finish the wine. Thinking back, the homemade mulled wine would have been a delightful choice. Anyway, I polished the fruit and left the cheese to take away. My friend ordered the creme brulee - and it was HEAVENLY. It was so utterly creamy and sweet inside. Perfectly executed, with the right brulee on top! Although it was slightly pricey (such is the student life), I did enjoy the experience. Don't know if I'd come again, but it is a lovely date spot and a place to chill with friends!

We were greeted and seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. Even though we had made a reservation, we were given the choice of 3 tables, which we really appreciated. We ordered two cocktails to start. I had the Flora Mexican which was amazing! it was floral, a little sweet, a little sour and just the perfect amount of yum. I loved it. My husband had the Improved Whisky Cocktail. It was also very good, with Rye, Maraschino and a nice hit of Absinthe. We decided to share some items from the crudo part of the menu. We had the salmon carpaccio which came with squid ink crackers and some lovely little pickled items. It was outstanding. We had the tuna tataki which also had lots of little pickled items and was amazing, but for me the actual tuna stole the show. The last item we ordered was the venison tartare. OMG, it was fabulous. The flavour of the venison was wonderful and the chili and capers just added so much to the dish. The cured egg yolk shaved on top gave it a subtle hint of saltiness. Everything was fantastic. The service was great and the ambience was too. We will most definitely be back when we return to London. Highly recommend this place.
