Their location is convenient and the team is super nice. The patients are really neat, too. As an avid skier I met another skier rehabbing and he was able to provide some information on knee/ankle friendly slopes in Montana. Rachel has been absolutely fantastic to work with over the years, twice post-surgical and once pre-surgical. She encourages me to exercise and improve, showing small tricks to squeak out the last little bit of flexibility. Every degree of movement gets me closer to "normal" and it does take hard work to get there. Also, I don't know much about my musculoskeletal systems and she is happy to answer questions. Like all PT locations they are busy in the AM and may have multiple patients and balance the session between exercise, PT manual manipulation, and stim therapy. I believe all their therapists have their Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While recovery is painful, she finishes off with ice and stim which really helps with the post-PT pain since I try to avoid pain medications. There have been 1 or 2 times that I declined because of work or a meeting but can say that the ice coupled with the stim really makes a difference. My previous PT at Inova and at Herndon Family Medicine did not couple the ice with the stim.

During that visit, they went through what I understood to be a routine physical exam. At the end, I was told I needed to come back for the physical, and that what they had just done only counted as a re-establishment of care. I returned for the second visit, expecting something different. Instead, they repeated the exact same steps. Nothing changed. Then, I was billed for both visits separately--one as a re-establishment of care, and one as a physical. In reality, it felt like the same appointment split in two for billing purposes. This practice appears to be more focused on maximizing insurance billing than providing transparent, patient-centered care. I asked for an explanation but received no clear justification, just vague responses. This experience felt deceptive and unfair. I will not be returning, and I recommend others ask very specific questions about how their appointments will be categorized and billed to avoid being taken advantage of.

"Patient in - check. Patient weighed- check. Patient seen for exactly 4.5 minuets - check. Patient checked out- check. Next patient...." and on and on and on the recycle wheel goes so they can make as much money as possible that day. I have also grown more than beyond weary of the insurance companies dictating to me and my doctor the care that we will adhere to or else! For these two reasons, I am thrilled to go to Dr. DeRusso (among other reasons I will list). She takes time to really LISTEN and FOCUS on you, the patient. There is no "hurry up and get out of here, so I can get to the next patient and get more money." AND, Dr. D is the doctor-- NOT the insurance company!! If she determines (along with you) that the best course of action is thus and such, it is because, in her best informed estimate. that is the best course of action. Not because that is what the insurance dictates to her that she has to do. I have been with Dr. D for 5 years now, and I've not regretted one minute taking the responsibility of taking my own health care in my own hands and out of the dictates of the insurance/ big pharma sphere. It may seem expensive at the onset, but, honestly, in the end, it hasn't been awful. And, Dr. D will always try to find ways to help you save. I had to have my gallbladder removed, and Dr. D helped me by recommending a doctor that not only took my insurance, but knows Dr. D and said he could not speak highly enough of her. When a doctor says that in all sincerity about another doctor, that's says a lot! I absolutely love her! She has always taken time with me, listened to me, is very honest, has given me superb diagnosis when needed. I have always felt like she had my best interest at heart and is a very personable doctor and friend. Her staff is superb! As with Dr. D, I cannot speak highly enough of them. They are personable, reliable, really take care with each individual. They do not forget you are a person! They don't treat you like a number to be shuffled in and out through the recycle door. All of my therapists were kind, patient and knowledgeable. Through their hard work and encouragement, I was able to regain full range of motion and was back to all my regular activities shortly after my PT sessions ended. Throughout the 5 months, they kept my surgeon informed of my progress with detailed updates. The office staff were also very kind and efficient and helped keep track of insurance benefits. The location of this facility is convenient with plenty of parking.

I've never waited more than 20-30 minutes -- and most visits are just 5-10 minutes. The phlebotomists are incredibly kind, professional, and gentle. I've never had a painful draw or walked out bruised, which says a lot. They're also very respectful of special requests -- I need specific tape due to sensitive skin, and they always accommodate without hesitation. I've even brought in more complicated specialty labs (including RGCC testing), and they've been completely willing to handle them carefully and support the patient. It's clear they take pride in their work and truly care. Highly recommend.

The insurance coordinator, front desk staff, and PTs and PTAs are absolutely wonderful. My child has also utilized the facility for their sports performance program to build stabilizing muscles and bulk muscle safely so that he will reduce his chances for injury as he grows. The facility inside is gorgeous and everything still looks new. The PTs keep everything clean, even wiping it down once more before you use it. We have also used 2 other PT organizations in the area and like 1 of the 2. However, NSMI does sponsor Loudoun Soccer and we were seeking sports-specific rehabilitation for soccer and kicking in football.

The OrthoVirginia office at this location is in the same office building as The Gum Spring Library. The OrthoVirginia office is on the 3rd floor. I did not observe any OrthoVirginia signs on the outside of the building. You enter the building at the right front corner of the building and take the elevators up to the 3rd floor. Checked in and waited to be called. Pretty big waiting room. Dr. Lorenzetti is quite the character. He is outgoing and gregarious. I enjoyed meeting him! #OrthoVirginia

When I called to inquire about walk-in availability, the male receptionist who answered sounded as if he was half-asleep and was very difficult to understand. I genuinely could not make out what he was saying, so I politely asked him to repeat himself. Instead of clarifying, he responded in a blunt and dismissive tone. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. To top it off, right as I was wrapping up the call and saying "okay thank you," he hung up on me before I even finished my sentence. That lack of basic courtesy left a really negative impression. Again, I have no complaints about the doctors or the actual care, but the attitude of the person answering the phones makes a huge difference in how patients perceive the office. First impressions matter, and this one was disappointing.

I have been a patient at LSFP for 25 years. This practice is a shadow of what it once was. The…read moredecline has been gradual, but steady, and has reached a point where I can't recommend avoiding this practice enough. Appointments now consist of basic questions and exams that barely touch the service of issues. My last physical didn't even include a hernia exam, and I'm a 39 year old male with a history of hernias. The nurse practitioners they have on staff are under-qualified at best. The front desk staff are rude, and the intake nurses are also unprofessional. This practice has lost any idea of what customer service means and seems to now be an appointment mill that bills your insurance for telling you to buy some Motrin and get some bed rest. Today was the last straw for us. My wife recently gave birth naturally and our OBGYN recommended we see our PCP for a referral for physical therapy for a month from now to help get her back on her feet and speed her recovery. We called and scheduled an appointment for this specific purpose with the front desk who confirmed that they could give a referral for PT. After waiting for an hour, my wife was seen by a family nurse practitioner that took her temperature and blood pressure, checked her height and weight, eyes and ears, and listened to her breathing. Then, without any examination of her pelvic floor muscles, said that PT 'wasn't indicated' at this time and we should come back for another appointment after our 6 week checkup with our OBGYN for ANOTHER appointment. She explained that we had been sent by the OBGYN to get a referral but the FNP refused to issue the referral and sent her packing. I went in to address this with the front desk and they gave me the run-around, then brought out a 'provider' who first said she had seen my wife but after having me explain the whole situation told me she was just the intake nurse, then asked me to re-explain the situation, then laughed when I said I didn't want to explain myself again and wanted to talk to the actual nurse that had seen my wife. All in all it was a nice hour and fifteen minutes absolutely wasted by the front desk and clinical staff because of their inability to listen and/or be upfront about what services they are willing and able to provide. To LSFP - if you can not or will not offer a service then perhaps your front desk staff shouldn't confirm the appointment for it. Your practice used to be great, and now it is a terrible place to go for care and competent customer service. I've had better customer service at McDonald's. Your front desk staff especially leaves a lot to be desired in the professionalism department. 25 years as a patient and I have never been treated the way I was treated today. We won't be back. Get it together.
