His practice is located on the third floor of the Heathcote Health Center medical building - located at the western end of Heathcote Boulevard. I went in for my initial meeting/consultation to scope him out - liked the overall vibe of the Doc and his practice and went with him. He is very personable, listens to your concerns, and takes the time to patiently articulate things. Not only does he do Internal medicine - but Pediatrics as well - so folks with kids can also go to Dr. Parikh.

When I called to inquire about walk-in availability, the male receptionist who answered sounded as if he was half-asleep and was very difficult to understand. I genuinely could not make out what he was saying, so I politely asked him to repeat himself. Instead of clarifying, he responded in a blunt and dismissive tone. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. To top it off, right as I was wrapping up the call and saying "okay thank you," he hung up on me before I even finished my sentence. That lack of basic courtesy left a really negative impression. Again, I have no complaints about the doctors or the actual care, but the attitude of the person answering the phones makes a huge difference in how patients perceive the office. First impressions matter, and this one was disappointing.

Appointments now consist of basic questions and exams that barely touch the service of issues. My last physical didn't even include a hernia exam, and I'm a 39 year old male with a history of hernias. The nurse practitioners they have on staff are under-qualified at best. The front desk staff are rude, and the intake nurses are also unprofessional. This practice has lost any idea of what customer service means and seems to now be an appointment mill that bills your insurance for telling you to buy some Motrin and get some bed rest. Today was the last straw for us. My wife recently gave birth naturally and our OBGYN recommended we see our PCP for a referral for physical therapy for a month from now to help get her back on her feet and speed her recovery. We called and scheduled an appointment for this specific purpose with the front desk who confirmed that they could give a referral for PT. After waiting for an hour, my wife was seen by a family nurse practitioner that took her temperature and blood pressure, checked her height and weight, eyes and ears, and listened to her breathing. Then, without any examination of her pelvic floor muscles, said that PT 'wasn't indicated' at this time and we should come back for another appointment after our 6 week checkup with our OBGYN for ANOTHER appointment. She explained that we had been sent by the OBGYN to get a referral but the FNP refused to issue the referral and sent her packing. I went in to address this with the front desk and they gave me the run-around, then brought out a 'provider' who first said she had seen my wife but after having me explain the whole situation told me she was just the intake nurse, then asked me to re-explain the situation, then laughed when I said I didn't want to explain myself again and wanted to talk to the actual nurse that had seen my wife. All in all it was a nice hour and fifteen minutes absolutely wasted by the front desk and clinical staff because of their inability to listen and/or be upfront about what services they are willing and able to provide. To LSFP - if you can not or will not offer a service then perhaps your front desk staff shouldn't confirm the appointment for it. Your practice used to be great, and now it is a terrible place to go for care and competent customer service. I've had better customer service at McDonald's. Your front desk staff especially leaves a lot to be desired in the professionalism department. 25 years as a patient and I have never been treated the way I was treated today. We won't be back. Get it together.

Our children have been patients at two of the "top-rated" pediatricians as we've moved over the years--and this is the only practice where you're truly treated as a person, not just a number. If you're looking for speed and convenience, you can always go to an assembly-line pediatrician. But if you want a true care team--literally two doctors who will know your children by name, provide thoughtful and individualized treatment, and actually keep you informed--this is the place for you. When I first called, Anastasia let me know they're a smaller practice. So yes, I may wait on hold for a couple minutes while they're helping another patient--but I'll take that any day over the rushed, impersonal care we've experienced elsewhere. At the other offices, they'd order multiple bacterial infection tests based only on symptoms I described over the phone--without even seeing my children. That's not care--that's just billing insurance as quickly as possible. Sky Valley is the complete opposite. Here, they take the time to listen, assess thoughtfully, and treat your family like their own.

Their location is convenient and the team is super nice. The patients are really neat, too. As an avid skier I met another skier rehabbing and he was able to provide some information on knee/ankle friendly slopes in Montana. Rachel has been absolutely fantastic to work with over the years, twice post-surgical and once pre-surgical. She encourages me to exercise and improve, showing small tricks to squeak out the last little bit of flexibility. Every degree of movement gets me closer to "normal" and it does take hard work to get there. Also, I don't know much about my musculoskeletal systems and she is happy to answer questions. Like all PT locations they are busy in the AM and may have multiple patients and balance the session between exercise, PT manual manipulation, and stim therapy. I believe all their therapists have their Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While recovery is painful, she finishes off with ice and stim which really helps with the post-PT pain since I try to avoid pain medications. There have been 1 or 2 times that I declined because of work or a meeting but can say that the ice coupled with the stim really makes a difference. My previous PT at Inova and at Herndon Family Medicine did not couple the ice with the stim.

We've been appealing the charges since. Overall, this has been a stressful and disappointing experience. Very poor communication and billing practices -- not a good company to deal with.

Rather they make you move from one room into a big waiting room while they take their time looking over your x-rays and find you to give you your results and you're align with people that have had strokes and more serious conditions. It just doesn't make sense to me from a priority perspective. They should have a separate person handling just sports injuries, not head injuries, arms toes, wrists you know simple stuff.!
