I have to say - I'm actually quite impressed. I've seen restaurants/stores advertised here that I'd never heard of before. I've read about festivals here that I hadn't heard about anywhere else. Music and movie reviews that aren't catering to "the man". And always a few articles about campus life or some other "it's cool with young people" article that cracks me up. Don't come here looking for a breaking news scandal or anything - unless that scandal has to do with bad food on campus. That article might even get a whole two pages. Well, 2 pages with really big pictures.

College Times is not just for college kids (damn, I'm sure the sales account executives aren't too…read morethrilled that *my* liking it undermines their demographic targets, but whatever). Granted, the first few pages would be of more interest to students, because there are pictures of local events and stories that a non-student wouldn't care about (e.g., transfers, class credits, courses, the bar scene, etc.) HOWEVER, setting all that aside, the "Calendar" section is still more informative and chock-full events than the New Times. (Yes, I'm referring to the 'dead tree' paper edition of College Times.) The 'dead tree' paper edition of New Times only lists one or two events per day. The 'dead tree' paper edition of College Times, by contrast, lists more events per day. So, their event listings are better. The 'dead tree' paper edition of College Times seems to have much better - not infinitely better, but noticeably more comprehensive - music coverage. In addition to featured new releases of the week, there's a "Weekly Six Pack" sidebar of notable new releases, and another sidebar for "Download This" suggested tracks to download. Their reviews also have "Similar Sounds" below the review, which seems to be like the "RIYL" (Recommended If You Like) tags you see elsewhere. Frankly, I've always found RIYL to be unnecessary. If you can't tell what a band would sound like without someone having to give you an example, you're either seriously musically illiterate or whoever wrote the review is seriously musically illiterate. It would be good if some of the features like "Weekly Six Pack" and "Download This" were available on the online edition.

They size range from small to large. There is a small case of accessories that are lower end. Along with a few other types of items that woman want. This appears to be a family owned business. Everyone is very friendly and will greet you when you walk through the doors. I did not find anything that I particularly cared for and I don't feel myself shopping here too often but I don't want to put the store down. Shopping for an engagement ring is tough and finding someone to trust is tougher. I can say with confidence you won't get screwed over here. Carl was super nice and educational, and took the time to explain everything about a diamond. He wasn't pushy at all, which was a great change of pace after working with other diamond sellers. Carl's price was fair, and he worked with me to get my ring sized quickly after I proposed. Most people know nothing about diamonds before going to purchase one, I suggest taking a trip to see Carl before making a purchase. His inventory is massive, don't let the store front fool you.

I waved into Flag World and Sports, an "approved parking spot store" and my destination, when I realized that I was being followed. A man, twice my size, asked me where I was going and if I was coming back. I let him know that I was a customer and decided my best course of action was to go towards people and not trap myself within a small confined area. I am a very petite, pregnant minority holding hands with my toddler; I will not put myself or my child in a situation that I could later regret. I turned back and realized that the man was still following me. He then began to raise his voice at me, questioning where I was going. Due to his size and the volume of his voice I decided to walk away and return at a later time. After about an hour had passed, I went into my intended destination and afterwards was walked to my car by the Flag World and Sports store owner. At that time, I found a green Towing Warning Sticker directly on the drivers side of my windshield. The sticker was rather large, about half the size of a sheet of paper. Upon further inspection, I realized that I would be unable to drive without endangering myself, my toddler and my unborn child, thus trapping me in the parking lot. The owner of Flag World was nice enough to take the time to peel pieces of the sticker off of my windshield and even attempted to use a razor blade to scrape off the stuck remnants to allow me to see out my windshield. This ended up taking him several minutes, which allowed me to see the very same man that had followed me earlier sitting in The Diamond Consignment Store, behind the counter watching me as I waited for my windshield to be us I understand that this could have just been a misunderstanding and admit that this review has nothing to do with the quality of their products, pricing or selection. However, this man's worst case scenario (a non customer steals a customers parking spot) cannot begin to compare to my worst case scenario as a female, minority and a mother. The way this man executed his behavior was threatening, unprofessional and dangerous. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend anyone to set foot in this establishment.

The others were from taking down those vicious lemons the previous night.
