I saw a suggestion to review Passport and was flabbergasted that I hadn't already done so. This place is a gem for coffee and tea lovers. Or if you're ready to become one...because after trying a wild Strawberry black tea sample I was hooked. You can order whole beans and tea for pick-up on their website. Seriously, they have the best prices on coffee in the valley. Friendly customer service, always my favorite place to stop by when I'm running errands. Thank you Passport for being there for our family's coffe and tea needs. #ThankYouThursday

After my vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run in the Kierland Commons parking lot, by a member of the cleaning staff, I left Mr. Kea a voicemail on Saturday, July 18, requesting a return call regarding the incident. Unfortunately, I never received a response. As someone who works at Kierland Commons, I expected a higher level of professionalism, communication, and concern. Instead, I had to flag down an employee driving a golf cart just to locate the security office myself. The lack of follow-up and assistance during a situation involving property damage is unacceptable. Additionally, the parking lot design is extremely narrow, making it difficult to navigate safely and increasing the risk of accidents. I hope Kierland Commons takes both customer and employee safety more seriously and improves its response to incidents like this in the future.

Similar to the other two OFF 5th locations, you can expect the hours to start being reduced in the near future. Saks OFF 5TH has been considered "the premier destination for luxury off-price fashion". They have offered a large assortment of high-end designers and everyday favorites at great prices. Saks OFF 5th has been considered a Saks Fifth Avenue outlet store since 1995 (following the footsteps of Saks Clearinghouse which opened three years earlier). This location was one of the four Arizona locations (three in the Greater Phoenix area). Recently as a part of their bankruptcy process, Saks decided to close most of their OFF 5th locations (and Nieman Marcus Last Call stores) while continuing to function otherwise as a company. Their website (https://www.saksoff5th.com) still has some items which are all up to 70% off. Their prices are considered "liquidation pricing." Recently, the bankruptcy process has been of particular interest to those American Express Platinum card holders, as they get $50 credit for purchases at Saks Fifth Avenue stores every six months, and if they purchase physical gift cards in the store, they can get the credit back that way, and the gift cards can be used at OFF 5th locations or online. I gave them four stars as Saks OFF 5th has been a great options for saving a lot while getting a lot for American Express Platinum card holders and every one else. My wife and I have stopped by this location off and on over the last year, and we appreciate the variety of inventory all at great prices, and the staff there (though sometimes it seemed like the staffing was rather slim) were helpful.

If another Sam's Club opened anywhere nearby I would cancel this membership and re-join Sam's Club in a heartbeat. That said, Costco is still better than nothing, and has the edge over Sam's in at least two ways: better gasoline prices and a wider variety of better quality free samples. The employees at the entrance and exit are also very friendly and good at what they do, keeping the lines moving along, and the cashiers are also very efficient. I really appreciate the additional personnel who pre-scan items while I'm waiting in line so that I can then just breeze through the cashier part of the transaction. They also accept Apple Pay (as long as it's tied to a Visa card) which makes the process even more efficient! Now for the not-so-good, and the number one reason why I feel so adamantly that I would ditch Costco for Sam's if it ever became feasible: Costco absolutely cannot be trusted to be stocked with your weekly grocery staples. One week the big-@ss bag of frozen peas will be available; the next week it won't. One week the frozen broccoli will be available; the next week it won't. Unlike Sam's, Costco does not provide any helpful signage identifying where things are; they do this deliberately so they can shuffle things around on a frequent and regular basis in the hope that you will make additional impulse purchases while on an unnecessary but deliberately provoked wild goose chase for the items actually on your shopping list. As for the crowds about which many reviewers complain - there are better and worse times to go to Costco. I've found what I believe are better times (but am I going to give away my secrets? Not on your life, hee hee!!!) So, balancing the good against the bad, I rate Costco a solid "C" = aka 3 stars.
