The food was scrumptious. Customer service was wonderful. It was just a little pricey.

The food was A+. The host (male...teen) . Wasn't helpful at all. He practically told us to go somewhere else. His guidance was poor. Told us a 30 minute wait. There were open tables all over. When we said, our party of 2 adults, an elementary age child, a preschooler & a toddler could sit at a 4-top with a high chair, he finally relented. We walked past an open 6-top booth to our 4-top. Just a moment later, they seated a walk-in couple (2 females) in said booth. Staffing may have been an issue, but in small-town East Texas, Sunday after church is busier than Saturday night. Either he is looking for tips, is discouraging families with small children, or he is an ignorant / arrogant cad. read more

We have visited a few different Jalapeno Tree Restaurants in the Texas Oklahoma area. We have been to Mt Pleasant twice. Both times the wait for our food was extremely long, about 40 minutes. When it arrived steak was luke warm! Basically food was good but pricey. We have decided not to return. They have been open long enough to resolve training issues and should be up and running like other restaurants. Service was fair. I wish them all the luck. read more

We ate here because Two Senoritas was closed. My mother in law got the tacos, she said they were good but not as good as Two Senoritas. My husband got the grilled chicken breast with veggies and said it wasnt near as good as Two Senoritas. Plus their prices are high. I loved their chips and green sauce but their hot sauce. They do not accommodate large parties. I called on a Tuesday at 2 p.m. and spoke with Joann. I was giving her a heads up that I would need seating for 15 people at 7p.m. that evening. It's not a very large restaurant so I was concerned on where we would be seated. She informed me they didn't take reservations but she appreciated the heads up and they would try to be ready and get us set up in the banquet room area. I gave her my name and she said they would be ready. I arrived early to make sure things were going to be ready. The hostess was very rude and told me they didn't take reservations and the wait would be at least an hour. They wouldn't put my name on the wait list because at least 1/2 of my party wasn't there. VERY RUDE attitude. If you have more than 4 people in your party, try one of our downtown restaurants. They are very accommodating and will set up reservations. We stopped in on our way from KY just passing through and decided to try it out. The food was really good. We got there just before it filled up and people were waiting in line to be seated. We enjoyed the friendly service at first but the waitress we had seemed to not be very familiar with the menu. She may have been new. She got some of the order confused when the food arrived but not to a complete loss. We had asked for some extra sour cream as our food arrived and she agreed to bring it right away. She went to her hang out and was standing there with no urgency. She walked by our table again and we had to remind her once again. Needless to say our food was half eaten before she showed up with it and copped a bit of an attitude toward us for rushing her. Nevertheless this place is worth trying and we will be back at some point. read more

Well I went to jalapeño tree Monday January 13, 2020 order a lot food my family and I did and number 3 build your own combo and got beef queso enchiladas and well I went around 7pm and the waitress was nice but the next morning January 14, 2020 at 7am I was sick and nauseated at my stomach my belly was hurting so bad like I had to throw up but I just couldn't and I had cramps in belly couldn't focus and my belly was swollen but at 11am I threw up 5 times in a Row and I threw up the enchiladas, so I went to the doctor and they said I got bacteria infection and bacteria got in the food that I ate, I was just telling y'all so maybe you could fix it next time and make sure no one else get sick. read more

Monday I ordered food on their website for my coworker to pick up. I paid for the food and received multiple confirmation that food was ordered and ready to pick up. When my coworker arrived she was told that they could not give her the food because it was ordered for DoorDash pickup. I explained to the staff and manager as did my coworker that the order was selected for customer pickup not DoorDash and I had not put in a business address for it to be delivered so if they gave DooDash my food they would have no idea where to take it. My coworker tells me that DoorDash arrives and isn't even there for our orders. Manager then ask me to call DoorDash support (IM AT WORK!!) I told him I wanted my food I paid for and I was really considering never coming back there and he proceeded to tell me they couldn't give it to me. He asked me to email him my confirmation of purchase so I did. After 45minutes my coworker was given our food and yes when she got back to work it was very much cold and soggy. read more

I've been very disappointed in this restaurant ever since it opened. The service is usually pretty good and the taste of the food great sometimes, it's usually pretty cool inside on a steaming hot Texas day and that about the best I can say for it. Upon being seated you'll notice that the chips are too paper thin. The salsa taste like sweetened tomato sauce, the green sauce changes flavor so many times it's pityful. When looking at the menu you'd think your about to get a great meal, most of the menu I have tried. The taste is usually decent to great, hit and miss. But you will notice that they get a little stingy and chintzy on the stuffings. And main food items. For the price you pay the plate appearance should wow you. The tea is satisfactory but I've never had a bad cup of coffee yet. It's hard to get a second cup, but it's good. Other jalapeno tree restaurant are different, much better in Longview or Tyler ,my favorite. Mt pleasant has many Mexican restaurants to choose from. They don't have Tabasco sauce on the table, only behind the bar. Mexican food should be spicy on its own. And they seem to charge for every little thing. read more

In the past I have eaten at this restaurant often. There are few other places to eat in Mt Pleasant except for fast food and I am forced to eat out often. I almost always get the Chicken Fajitas on the lunch portion as that seems to be the healthiest item on the menu. The Key West Vegies that you can choose as a side dish instead of the rice and beans are good if you request the waitress to have them sautéed more. In the past I have tried the Charro Beans or the Tortilla Soup as my other side dish.The Charro Beans are usually unnecessarily extremely salty for my taste. The Tortilla Soup usually has the same problem. Otherwise the Tortilla Soup can be quite good although inconsistent for other reasons as well. Contacted the restaurant 4-4-19 to voice my concern about the salt. The Chicken Fajita meat is generally good except recently contains way too much salt or seasoning unless you request otherwise when you order. Otherwise than the salt issue which I note is mentioned in one of the other reviews, this could be a satisfying meal. I never get the complimentary chips and salsa because of the oil or grease content in the chips. If you want to verify this get a paper sack of these chips and let them sit overnight. I tried the Chicken Enchilades once when the restaurant first opened and found them unpleasantly salty. Will not venture there again. read more
