Greg totally amazed us twice. The quality of the work done and customer service were great. I have never before trusted jewelry to anyone but a fine known jeweler in a large city- not even a chain store jeweler. But my hubby and the recommendations from JCPenneys staff in the same mall made me try. Greg showed as much interest in restoring a small sentimental value item - which was difficult work - a 2 layered butterfly charm with enamel on one side and crystals covering the other--it was only gold plated but he treated it like it was diamonds because of his understanding that jewelry is sentimental - unlike many jewelers. We used him a second time when I was horrified to find my hubby had run the vacuum over a ring I dropped - gemstones popped out and ring distorted - after Greg's it was the same as new. I needed my wedding ring fixed as the prongs that held the diamond in were in need of repair and the wrap that held the diamond engagement ring was missing a small diamond. I brought the ring into Gregg the owner and immediately was assured that I could trust him with my heirloom ring and got to see first hand how he treated other clients and was impressed. Greg was the best! My husband and I found my dream wedding ring set and were told by a very reputable jeweler that "It can not be done".. The ring was a size 8 and would need to come down to a 5.5. I was extremely disappointed as I had been looking for "thee ring" for such a long time. We took it to Greg and he said, "if anyone can do it, it's us" He explained that if we solder the rings together, it creates a wider band and I may be able to go up a size, making it more possible. Just a few days after leaving it with him, it was ready. The ring looks better than I could have imagined. It fits beautifully and is just stunning. I have had a fabulous experience with this business. I've worked with them twice so far - once he resized my mother's ring so that I could wear it when another jeweler was unable to do so. The ring bent and he fixed it for me for free. The second time he has agreed to take charms off of a charm bracelet so that a shadow box can be made, has agreed to do the work quickly, is charging a very reasonable price, and has agreed to clean all 38 charms FOR FREE!! Gregg was wonderful. I needed an engagement ring sized, as well as my grandmother's "mother's ring" that not only needed to be sized but was in need of much repair. He let me know what was needed for both rings and was upfront about the cost. When I went back to get my rings -- just a few short days later(!) -- I was blown away. I heard about Greg from several locals who recommended him. Greg did a wonderful job on two pieces that I brought in recently. First, he put a new clasp on a charm bracelet I've had for many years. It required a large clasp so he found an excellent replacement and polished up the bracelet. Second, he soldered my rings together. They were different sizes also so he resized them in the process. I went to see Gregg because he was a local jeweler. Thought I'd give him a try. He gave me an appraisal on my mom's engagement ring. He was very knowledgeable and taught me a few things about the ring that I didn't know. Since then, I've brought in a friend to have her special watch repaired, she liked him as well. He's not at the Concord Mall any longer, of course, because it's closed down. He has his own little shop at 251 S. Main St., in Concord. I recently had 2 rings repaired at the Jewelers Workbench. The owner, Gregg Mezzapele is very knowledgable, friendly and easy to work with. One of my rings has a pearl and 2 emeralds, he was concerned about the emeralds as they are fragile so asked for an extra day to finish as he wanted to be very careful...both rings were returned with work done as we discussed.
