Came here after finding Bellman's on social media to design my engagement ring! I knew I wanted to include heirloom gemstones in my ring so I'd have to go custom and Bellman's made the process absolutely seamless. I got to try on a bunch of different bands and see probably 10 different variations of custom designs digitally as well as try on 2 wax molds before picking my ring to make sure it was perfect. When I finally got to see the ring in person, it was even better than i'd been picturing in my head! Found this place from a friend that found it on TikTok. Me and my partner worked with Milana and it was the best experience anyone could have. I am so type A and Milana sent me like 5 waxes and even more CAD models. If you are going custom Bellman's is the place you should go- they really care about you loving your ring before financially committing to anything. This is a business that really treats the customer right. I have been to this location twice over the past three months and each time their service was outstanding. I brought my wife's ring in that needed rhodium plating and they took the ring and did a great job with it even though I had not purchased it there. They even offered to treat her ring free of charge whenever it needed it! About a month later I brought my Tissot watch in because the dial face started to fog up. It was apparent the O ring had failed so they suggested they send it to the factory for repair. About a month later the watch was ready so I went in to pick it up. They did a great job with the watch and it looks brand new. Once again, They did not charge me. Not that I was looking to get anything for free, but I truly appreciated the gesture. I have never left a review until now and that is because I cannot say enough good things about Bellman Jewelers, especially Alex. My fiancé worked with Alex to make a custom engagement ring and it exceeded all of my wildest expectations. It was exactly what I wanted and I could not be happier! Fast forward a few months, the night before my fiance was going into surgery, I dropped my gorgeous ring down the drain and the garbage disposal completely destroyed it. The band was completely ruined but by some act of God, the stone remained unharmed and still absolutely FLAWLESS! Even though the stone was not ruined in any way, I was still a total wreck emotionally. I was so scared and nervous for my fiance, and now I also felt so horrible and guilty for destroying something he spent so much time on for me, my most favorite and loved possession in the world. Stay far away if you have *any* common sense! If I could give negative stars I would. Will absolutely and utterly low ball you on buy back offers. These people play games, then think you're either too stupid, or too desperate to fall for them. Received an offer by employee (A only to be told later, it was the wrong offer by employee B). They reluctantly agreed to honor their offer once their hand was held to the fire (while employee A denied making me that offer to begin with). Lied to me point blank just a few days later! Stating they didnt make the offer. Perhaps the most upsetting part of it all. Once facts came to light I was told "we work hard to make small margins here." To show up at 5p to receive "my check." Nope. No thanks. I am all set with lies and deceit or a place who needs their hands held to the fire, to agree to what they said they would do to begin with! It isn't my responsibility to come in between employee A and B to make sure the right quote is given. Not my circus. This sort of shady practice game playing, speaks volumes to the business practice this place rolls on. I am all set, and will never set foot here again. What a great first and last impression Bellmans! Way to go! Word of advice folks? The private market is your friend. Sold my ring effortlessly for 2x the amount I was low balled on here in the private market. So much for "small margins" on a certified diamond. Mind you I am not even in the business, nor am I a skilled salesman by any means or gemologist but imagine if I was? Buy your stuff 2nd hand! Shop online and above all, be patient and control your emotions. Otherwise you're buying a product with a 50%+ mark up!! Because of shining lights, and a brick and mortar building, counter etc. All you really need to cover your self is a GIA, AGS cert., legitimate appraisal. Don't be taken for a fool like I was once! My boyfriend and I first went to Bellmans looking for an insurance appraisal for a vintage engagement ring we bought online from a jewelry store in NYC. Alex kindly pointed out some flaws in the old setting such as cracks and poor fixes with the ring under the microscope. With no pressure from him, my boyfriend and I decided to return the ring and create a custom ring with Bellmans instead. I had my heart set on a vintage, transitional cut diamond around 1ct. Other jewelry stores tried to talk me out of this and convince me to get a modern round brilliant, but Bellman's never did despite the fact getting this kind of diamond is more work for them. Alex researched available transitional cut diamonds using an online database and had several stones shipped to the store from other states for us to see in person. We finally found the stone of my dreams! The process of designing the custom setting was also very easy. Alex answered all of my questions and provided suggestions when asked. The last point to mention is that Bellmans prices are very fair! I did a ton of research on diamonds during this process and feel like we got a great deal. Went in to the store as a walk-in, Junior (and all the other employees) seemed happy at work, and were very helpful and accommodating to the fact I needed my ring back as soon as possible as I am not from town. I had my ring resized within 30 minutes, and with a complimentary cleaning, too! Other jewelry stores I contacted (I sent messages to 5) were slow to reply, gave me ridiculous quotes (some 6x as much!), and wanted to hold my ring for 2-3 weeks (as if that's a reasonable amount of time to be away from your engagement/ wedding ring). Came here three years ago to buy an engagement ring. The sales people were great. They had the exact setting I wanted and within a few days I picked it up, paid in full. After one month, I brought it back as the relationship did not work out. I was offered 10% of the original sales price and told the ring was cursed. I love Bellman's. I was shopping for an engagement ring (she said yes!). I was planning on visiting several jewelers that night to get some quotes and shop around. I started the night at Bellman's and worked with the most wonderful woman, Sandy. She was willing to work with me for several hours, finding the right setting and diamond, informing me of the different cuts (which I knew nothing about) and other qualities (which I had known). She was incredibly nice to my friend who came to help me shop. We both were offered drinks and the whole experience was really enjoyable. It was clear that they knew their stuff. After all was said and done, I was able to negotiate the price of the ring a little bit (something I doubt that you can do in the chain jewelers). In addition, I got free Monarchs tickets too (though it snowed bad that night and I was unable to go). Sandy promised me that the ring would be done by Christmas (I ordered it just two weeks before). Lo and behold, I had it in my hand on the 23rd! They also will resize it for free the first couple of times to make it right, which I had to do. I dropped it off on a Thursday and had it back on Saturday (apparently all rings go out Thursday). In addition, since I bought the engagement ring there, I now enjoy a discount on the wedding bands. Best part, tax-free NH! There was also a nice touch that they did when I went to pick up the ring (will keep that a secret!) Needless to say, the ring was gorgeous and they did an excellent job setting it and helping me choose the perfect combination. The ring was promptly certified and appraised. These guys know what they are doing and the price is competitive. Without a doubt, I will return to Bellman's for the bands and other future purposes. If you're in a rush, I'll be straight to the point: Hands down, I give Bellman my highest recommendation. Here's some more detail to offer toward the point: I stopped in here on a weekday after several people independently recommended Bellman's to me. I had a bit of a predicament. While on an anniversary trip in the Virgin Islands, we decided to enhance my wife's engagement ring. We purchased her original engagemnt ring at another jeweler who has a lot of local celebrity; one we thought was reputable. (I mean Jewelers are like car salesman, right? How do you know?) Anyhow, while on our trip we worked with a nice family jeweler who set us up with a beautiful new setting for my wife's original solitaire stone. The ring was remarkable and we were anxious to get it home and add the aggregated creation to our Homeowner's policy. We brought the ring to our original jeweler to inquire about a cleaning and appraisal. After the girls at the counter ooh-ed and ahh-ed over our new creation, (and I was feeling pretty darn puffy-chested), the owner (Let's call him "Phony Sasser") came by to inspect the ring. He gave it barely more than a glance before dismissing it as defective, citing bent prongs, an incorrect setting and a quote of nearly $900.00 to set things straight, or risk losing some of the diamonds. This news was quite a blow, and after our vacation and the cost of upgrading the ring, this beautiful piece got locked in our safe until we could just justify spending another near-thousand dollars. It was on a hunch that I decided to get a second opinion and visit this Bellman's place I'd heard so many good things about -- and boy am I glad I did! From the moment I stepped inside, I just felt "good." I wasn't getting that look of judgement I always feel upon stepping into a jewelry store. I was greeted by Dana who heard my plight in its entirety, (instantly qualifying her for sainthood, btw), and avowed to help. She looked at the ring, and assured me it was beautiful, and perfect. After a quick inspection, she advised me that a full inspection, rhodium retouch, prong check/tightening and appraisal by expert gemologist David Bellman could be done in a matter of a few days -- all for a very nominal $175. I was floored! Dana was so nice, so understanding, and so patient with me. She knew I had been through the wringer and had a very bummed-out wife who was sincerely missing her bling. Together we were able to pull off an awesome surprise for my wife and I got to look like a hero twice -- once when I gave her her ring back and again when she saw how much I saved by going to an honest professional. read more
