Great bedside manner, personable, professional, and funny. The treatment was identified quickly and concisely. He performed about 7 different adjustments on my back and I am blown away by the immediate relief. I stopped because of the one in Inglewood and they used to have high turnover but no they have solid Chiropractors like Dr. Curtis is absolutely awesome. He started talking to me about volleyball, which I thought was very interesting. I didn't know he knew I played, but we talked, went through, evaluated my back, and made awesome adjustments. Not only do I feel better, I can see better. He did an absolutely fantastic job. Jeremy, working the front, has been nice. I also met with the other staff, they're very, very kind, and the other chiropractors too. So I'm back. I bought a six pack of visits, but when those run out, I'm switching to monthly. My daughter usually sees Dr. Curtis Arndt at the Culver City location. Last night, her neck was bothering her from sitting at her computer all day at work, so she left work and drove 45 minutes to Culver City to see Dr. Arndt. She knew the location closed at 7pm, so she called to say that she was on her way, but the phone rang and then disconnected twice. She finally got through when she arrived and was in the parking lot and said she was coming inside. By this time, she was crying and frustrated. The male receptionist told her that she couldn't be seen because they were not seeing anymore patients and that Dr. Arndt had to do some paperwork. Our daughter reminded him that they are open until 7pm and it was 6:55pm. As we all know, it takes most chiropractors at The Joint less than 3 minutes to do an adjustment, which was all she wanted. She goes to this doctor on a regular basis. Our daughter asked to speak with the chiropractor and the receptionist said that she was on speaker and that the doctor had heard the entire conversation. Our daughter pleaded with them to please just let her come in for a quick adjustment, but they said no. Obviously, Dr. Arndt doesn't really care about his patients because you don't turn away a crying 28 year old who just drove 45 minutes to get an adjustment, arrived before closing time of 7pm, and got turned away. Side note, the receptionist tried to say the doctor had to leave because his mother had surgery the week before and he needed to leave, but he had already told her that the doctor had paperwork he needed to do and hadn't mentioned anything about his mother. It's no wonder that so many The Joint locations in California in and around LA have closed with customer no-service like this. We will be removing our daughter from our plan and find her another chiropractor. Luckily for me, our two The Joint chiropractors in Georgia are super. The Culver City location lacks a good receptionist and chiropractor! read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Jeremy on 02/24 around 6:20 PM. When I walked in, I was not greeted and was simply told to take a seat because he was on the phone. Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn't sure if I needed to check in. After noticing that others were being called, I approached the counter to ask. I was immediately cut off and told, in a rude tone, that they were not accepting new patients. I explained that I had spoken to someone earlier that day, completed the required paperwork online, and was instructed to arrive before 6:30 PM. When I mentioned the name of the person I spoke with, Jeremy interrupted me again and stated that he was not a woman and that his name was not Allison. I clarified that I never said I spoke to him, only that I had spoken to someone else. He then accused me of "lying to his face," saying he had been working all day. I asked for his name and the name of a manager. He stated that he was the manager and that there was no one above him. During this exchange, he said he had "a horrible day" and didn't need me "adding to it." The situation escalated quickly--he became extremely agitated, asked me to leave, and threatened to call security. He even got up from his desk and walked out to look for security. I was honestly shocked by the entire interaction. I completely understand and respect policies regarding new patients. My issue was not with the policy, but with the way I was spoken to and treated while calmly trying to explain the situation. This was a very upsetting experience, especially since I had been looking forward to coming here for quite some time. Unfortunately, the customer service I received made that impossible. read more

Stay FAR away from here! I have been a Joint customer for as long as they have been open. I have the Family plan and extended it to my Daughter who lives in LA. Last night, she was in the parking lot in Culver City in extreme pain, 5 minutes or so before closing. She was told that the Dr. could not see her. Evidently, he had paperwork to do. She was even crying over the phone while talking to reception. I don't care if it is 5 min before closing or 20 minutes AFTER. If you are a Dr and you have a patient in PAIN, YOU SEE THEM! I'm sorely disappointed in the receptionist at this location. I scanned in with my tag, provided ample time to allow my account to load, and still, the receptionist started spouting off information for an account that was not mine. That is a violation of HIPAA. Additionally, when trying to get the adjustment, he tried to force paperwork upon me that I have already have on system and is updated, recently. Be cautious around the male reception. Make sure he does not say your info out loud and confirm it's your account he's looking at. Wish there was a zero star option. **Immediate update** I went back in to attempt to educate the desk jockey on HIPAA. He used being sick as excuse to be dismissive and effectily said he didn't care. I'm very disappointed in this organization's fall. I've been a customer for a few years, at the now permanently closed Santa Monica location. Over the last 3- 4 years, I've been buying the yearly plan, which was a good deal. However, I can't count the number of times where a location was closed due to "unforeseen circumstances". I'd sometimes get an email saying the office was closed, but sometimes not. Yesterday I trekked out to Culver City, and there's a sign on the door saying there was a power outage but I could go to the Manhattan Beach Location. I had already driven 25 minutes from SM, now I have to trek out to MHB? I couldn't anyway, since I had another scheduled event. Needless to say I won't be renewing my yearly membership. read more

for some reason they deleted my review but like i said, I rarely write reviews, but the way my mother was treated by the receptionist at this establishment was unacceptable and extremely concerning. From the very beginning of the interaction, the receptionist was rude and dismissive. While my mother was calmly trying to explain her situation, he repeatedly interrupted her and would not allow her to finish speaking. Instead of actually listening to what she was saying, he kept cutting her off and repeating himself, which immediately created a hostile and unwelcoming environment. My mother came in for a scheduled massage appointment and politely informed the receptionist that it was her first time there. Despite clearly stating that, he repeatedly asked the same question as if he was not listening to her. He then told her that she had to pay $89 in order to receive the service. My mother calmly explained that she did not have that amount available at the moment and had previously spoken with someone who told her they could work something out with her when she arrived. Instead of attempting to assist her or clarify the situation, the receptionist continued repeating himself in a rude, dismissive, and hostile tone. At one point, rather than trying to help resolve the situation, he even suggested that she go to a chiropractor next door instead of making any real effort to assist her with the appointment she had already scheduled. It felt as though he simply did not want to follow through on helping her at all. He had her fill out paperwork and wait, which was not the issue. The real issue was his attitude and the way he spoke to her throughout the entire interaction. My mother remained calm and respectful the entire time. She even explained that she was experiencing physical pain and genuinely needed the massage. Rather than responding with empathy or trying to help, the receptionist continued speaking to her in a condescending and aggressive manner. At one point he even told her to "calm down," despite the fact that she had not raised her voice or behaved aggressively at all. His behavior was not only unprofessional but came across as racist and discriminatory. As a Black woman seeking a service she had scheduled, my mother deserved the same respect and assistance as any other customer. Instead, she was treated with hostility, dismissiveness, and clear disrespect. Experiences like this are exactly why people of color often feel unwelcome in certain establishments. It is extremely concerning that someone with this type of racist and disrespectful attitude is placed at the front desk representing a business and interacting with customers. No one should walk into a place seeking help and leave feeling disrespected or treated differently. I will absolutely be reporting this situation to higher management because this kind of racist behavior and lack of professionalism should not be tolerated in any place of business. read more

The last charge was in May of 2023 and in July of this year they charged me once again with no notice whatsoever. I emailed, called and went in person to cancel my membership. It's like ordering a burger at a McDonald's where employees don't care about the food they just kick it out. Just whatever as long as it's a burger it's acceptable. This company messes up a lot. I had a issue with signing up at a different location and this location wouldn't honor the deal I signed up for and could care less about treating me. Billing is kinda scammy, monthly plan starts at the end day of last month? Visits on the last day of the month will be counted in next month's credit? I cancel my membership at the beginning of Jun, went there 06/30 to use my last visit for the month. At the end I asked them why they still charged me for next month, told me he forget to process my cancellation email?1 And now my visit on 06/30 is counted towards next billing cycle, so he cannot refund me $89 cuz I already used one visit from next month's credit. Dr. Curtis has been fantastic in helping me reduce my back pain after playing sports! I am very wary of seeing chiropractors but finally decided to come in after not being able to move my neck after a flag football game.
