I haven't been to a chiropractor in a few years and decided to come here because I needed an adjustment badly. The staff was very kind, but unfortunately I did not have a great experience overall. 1. The pricing... I paid $300 for my first visit - which included an evaluation and adjustment. They wanted me to come back in 2 days laters and told me they were confident that they accepted my insurance. I came back in 2 days later because I basically committed after spending $300 out of pocket. After my 2nd adjusment, they told me that they "accepted" my insurance. BUT I had to meet a deductible of $1200 for the year.. So they wanted me to pay a downpayment of $900!! And once I meet the deductible, I still have to pay $10 (Just FYI - I use to pay $25 at my old chiropractor, with no downpayment or insurance included). I told them I was shocked by the price and needed to think, so they charged me $100 that day and wanted me to come in 2 days later. I didn't come back... 2. The adjustment... I've had PLENTY of chiropractic adjustments before. In this case, it has been a few years since my last adjustment, which I mentioned to them. Before my adjustment, they put these electrical pads around my neck and shoulder - this was suppose to "relax" my muscles. They left me in the room by myself for 12 minutes. I was very uncomfortable and was unable to tell them because they shut the door. Deep muscles in my neck were contracting unvoluntarily for a full week after this, very painful/uncomfortable. After the electrical pads, he did not adjust my whole body, just my neck and upper back (because that was where my overall pain was). However, if I am paying over $300, I would like to have my entire body adjusted! 3.) Results... Obviously, I know I need to go consistently to notice great improvement. However, I could barely move my neck side to side after 2 adjustments. I had massive tension headaches and needed tylenol to get me through each day. I had deep muscles in my neck contracting unvoluntarily for over a week. I felt significantly worse than I did before walking in there. I did at home therapy (stretches, icing) for about 2 weeks and had to stay out of the gym. Eventually, I got a massage and they were able to do some light stretches on my neck which improved a lot. Overall, I lost $400, couldn't go to the gym, had chronic pain in my neck, and I could barely focus at work because of the pain I was in. After my experience here, I am done going to chiropractors. Instead, I plan to get massages once a month, do hot/cold plunge therapy, and stretches/icing at home. It's way less money and better results. read more

So my family has been raving forever about Dr Megan and her magic ways and I'm a bit stubborn when it comes to getting help if I'm a bit crooked. I tweaked my back while lifting the other day and my wife reached out to see if Dr M could fit me in. I met her at Culver City office and spent about an hour in her care. I've never felt such physical immediate relief from the pain I was suffering. I usually go to the Marina del Rey office but it was closed today so I went to Culver City. Yesterday, while reaching for a bottom drawer, I tweaked my lower back so badly that I could barely straighten up! I called first thing this morning and was told that I could be seen at 9. Of course, I accepted the appointment! The office has plenty of free parking on Sepulveda. I was greeted warmly by Dr. Megan who was so lovely. First she applied cold to my aching back. This place is amazing!! I'd been going here for awhile until the pandemic but so glad I can see them again. The front desk is always so nice-Wanda and Geronimo and Erika are all so on top of it and friendly! And I'm obsessed with Dr. Carlos and Dr. Megan's approach. They assess your needs and treat you with care and patience. They always answer all my questions and it's super easy to hop on their schedule and be seen -- especially when your back freezes up and you can't wait to see someone any longer! An average visit starts with stim with ice or heat, then you see the doctor for adjustment/stretching/massage and sometimes (when needed) I get exercises to do at home to prevent flare ups. I first came to Dr. Stayberg about a year and a half ago after - brace yourself - SNEEZING TOO HARD! Yes. You heard that right. I sneezed so hard that I threw out my upper back and it was one of the most painful things I've experienced. He signed me up for 12 sessions to work through the injury. I had to pay up front for the full 12 sessions. At the time, I didn't feel great about this. I was fully trusting this professional on the necessity of 12 sessions and I wish I could've paid per sessions rather than commit up front to the full 12. I ended up being in good shape after about 5-6 sessions. I just spread out the remaining to a monthly cadence. However, it's been over a year and I'm still here for maintenance! I have had two more flare ups of the original injury, but continue to come anyways. I sit at my computer all day in a "hunch back of Notre Dame" stance, so I find it worthwhile to continue coming even when I'm not dealing with an injury. Dr. Stayberg is wonderful at his practice and I'm reluctant to ever try going to anyone else. Even if he has someone filling in for him... I'm skeptical. One of the guys I've seen that filled in was not nearly as great, but the second one I've seen that filled in (Chris) was good - and low key cute. I will say that I wish they gave patients a heads up when he is going to be out! Anyways. I've brought both my parents to Dr. Stayberg. They have seen many doctors and chiropractors, and they both agreed that he was exceptional. They aren't local but my mom talks about taking trips here just to see him! I also started having my friend come here for adjustments as well! All the staff members are extremely friendly. My boy, Eric, is a homie. I also really like the office manager (Megan?). My friend referred me to Prodigy when she found out I was dealing with an injury (she goes to the Santa Monica office). I chose the Culver City office since it's closer to where I live. I've seen Dr. Stayberg twice now and have already noticed small improvements. Basically, I injured my back working out a couple of weeks ago and then my foot went numb. Obviously starting freaking out and went to my primary care doctor, who's a bit more old school and just told me to rest because it was a compressed nerve in my back from working out. I decided to get a second opinion. Dr. Stayberg was able to more precisely pinpoint the issue (exactly which vertebrae were compressing the nerves). We have an aggressive plan in place for treatment which I've been happy with so far because I need to get back to working out for my mental health. After our initial visit I was already able to sleep better (sleep through the night). I was a little sore from the spinal decompression (as expected), and that has already gone away after the 2nd visit. Years of working at a computer had finally taken their toll. You see... Just over a month ago my back went out. I was in incredible pain and nothing was helping. I tried stretching, nothing. I tried a massager, nothing. I tried icing my back, still nothing. I needed to see someone who could help me. I emailed Prodigy and they got back to me right away. We booked my first appointment for a consult and it was only a couple days away. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to getting my back-health back on track. I've been seeing Dr. Stayberg and he is fantastic. My consult, with him, was really good. He explained a few things that he was seeing in my back and hamstrings. And he was super chill with his "bed-side" manner. In other words, he did NOT make me feel bad for having some issues with my posture and muscles. By far the best chiropractor in town (Culver City). Dr G has been a life saver. I was out of work for 9 months due to a 11 mm bulging disk. After months of physical therapy and 2 epidural ejections I needed a new type of care. Since the minute I walked in, Dr has been true professional.
