I cannot explain how much my quality of life has improved since first seeing Dr Sands sometime around spring of last year. At the time, I was working a 9-5 desk job which had me sitting nearly all day. I had been experiencing recurring migraines and back pain following a pretty gnarly car accident in 2018. Dr. Sands is amazing - I've probably seen at least 20 different chiropractors in my life and he is definitely among the best! I have definitely had ones that act like you're in the lunch line at Jimmy John's, trying to get you in and out as fast as possible with minimal customization. Dr. Sands is patient, thorough in his treatments, and informative without being condescending. He also employed a broad range of modalities and was receptive personalizing my treatment based on what I described as having responded to well in the past (soft tissue work, active release therapy, etc.). I saw him regularly while living in LA to help out with running-related injuries and "normal chiro care" (i.e. tightness from a desk job, the common low back pain) - and he was great at not only helping me whatever I was complaining about on that specific day, but also helping me troubleshoot and understand the root cause of my issues. I ran 2 marathons while under his care and both of them were huge PRs. I would always go in for a "tune up" before each race, and I know that played a big role in my results! I have been going to chiropractors for over 30 years, and Dr. Adam Sands is hands down, the best chiropractor I have ever been to. I feel so fortunate to have found him, and I unless I move, I can't imagine ever changing. Dr. Sands seems to intuitively know exactly where the pain is. Occasionally I have sciatica, and he has a way of treating the area, between massage and adjustment, that makes it disappear by the time I leave. I was wondering how it would be to come back for an appointment, after the stay at home order lifted. I was very concerned, since I am of a certain age group. However, it was so safe, I needn't have worried. Dr. Sands has patients wait in their cars, while he wipes everything down twice, and airs out the office, between people. All the doors and windows are open, and fans are going. Both he and the patient wear masks. I felt so safe. Dr. Sands spends so much time doing the treatment (much longer than any other chiropractor) that I always feel well taken care of and never rushed. Sands' has been my only Chiro since 2014. I've been referring people here all the time and all of them swear by his work. If your tired of seeing your Chiro for 10 or 15 minutes where they just crack the usual spots and send you on your way, then I promise you will love the change with Dr. Sands. When I visited him first I had an ankle injury from playing racquetball. It had become a chronic problem for 2 years. Until I was referred to Sands and my first visit he spent a whole hour discussing and learning about why I was there. He analyzed everything from my walk, stance, and how I was sitting beforing having me lay down so he can examine everything I shared with him. But I wasn't sold yet, since all past Chiro's had the same procedure (but none exceeded 30 minutes during the first visit) so I was suspicious because of past experiences with those other Chiro's after those first visits. After visiting him 3 times is when I knew that Dr. Sands was the real deal. And they more I got to know him, the more I respected him as a professional and person. What makes Dr. Sands different than the rest is his devotion to his own healthy lifestyle. He's an athlete, jiu jitsu instructure, involved in both yoga and pilates, and brings great nutritional insight for overall health on top of his schooling as a chiropractor. He understands athletic pains and need for recovery as he is one. Understands the body beyond just what he studied in books but also in life as he's so active in natural movement of the body in all that he practices. After seeing Sands for a few months coupled with his guidance in improving muscles that were not being properly activated because of my flat feet, I'm very happy to report that my ankle issue is no longer an issue. Been over 3 years that I have not had any issues with my ackle all thanks to Dr. Sands. If that wasn't enough, he's also incredibly caring, understanding, knowledgeable, genuine, and thoughtful on a more personal note. Dr. Sands is an exceptional Chiropractor. I was given a strong referral for him after injuring my shoulder pretty bad. I also have quite a few other issues because I have a little s-curve and have done quite a bit of damage to myself dancing since I was quite young. My only prior experience with a chiropractor in the past wasn't the most excellent, but Dr. Sands has shown me the benefits of a great chiropractor. He specializes in working with athletes, so I highly recommend him if you have any sports related injuries- but he's great for anyone. Because of my spinal curvature my shoulders have always been uneven- one trapezius muscle was always engaged trying to compensate. First time Dr. Sands adjusted me this went away. Dr.Sands is a great one! And this place is great on its own. The place is nice and clean, with a lot of equipment for helping recovery, a pilates bed, and a gym room. These help you to do any recovery. I had always had lower back pain and it got worse when I had to spend several months sitting in front the desk and typing all day long. My wrist also got injured from typing. And the lower back was crying at me. So I decided to take some actions. I heard Dr. Sands from upstairs yoga people, so I called for a reservation. And then I started to come for treatment, and till now it has been almost two months! I have to say Dr.Sands is really friendly as well as knowledgeable. He has great courtesy, which makes you feel at ease, as well as savviness, which makes you feel he is able to help you recover. So after several weeks of consistent treatment, my wrist pain has completely gone! And my severe lower back pain has almost gone, even though it is not fully recovered because it takes time to heal (it wasn't a one day injure and has been there long), I wish I would have known him earlier and got treated earlier. But at least my pain is gradually leaving me. Highly recommended if your body is not doing right or there is any pain bothers you. He's a great guy, but the main thing that sets Dr. Sands apart from these other doctors I've been to is that he truly cares about what he's doing, every time... As a professional athlete, my back locked up pretty bad in 2011 due to a herniated disc. Adam worked on me twice a week, for over a month, before ever attempting to adjust or crack me. Instead, he did active release and deep tissue, until I was finally loose enough to be adjusted. Most chiros just crack you left and right and send you on your way... Do yourself a favor and see a real chiropractor like Adam before you get a cracker that just makes your life worse... I've been coming to Dr Adam Sands for at least 5 or 6 years now, before and after I had a torn ACL, shoulder problems, tightness in my back, you name it. I'm very skeptical of chiropractors, especially the ones that just take liberties cracking every joint in my body because they think that's what people want from a chiropractor.
