This facility is always closed last minute and I do not recommend going there for chirporactic services. The employees are nice but the staff is incompetent and unable to handle account issues in a timely manner. I had a membership and cancelled it in August by signing their cancellation paperwork but have been charged continuously the past two months even though I cancelled my account. I have reached out three times to follow up about this and to get my money back and have received no response from any staff member to assist with my issue. I haven't been back to Joint Chiropractic in el cerrito for over a year because I felt it was too aggressive and you never saw the same person. I've only had one great experience and it was on my first day with Ben Rotman. Unfortunately he no longer works there. I decided to go back and give it a second chance Unfortunately I regret going back. I saw Dr Rosie today and if you ever walk in and she's there I would recommend just walking out. My appt took 5-8mins and I paid $55 told her what was hurting. After she was done I said my hip was still hurting. Her response was well you haven't been seen in a year and gave me this look of she could care less. Dr Rosie if you ever want to own your own practice you should practice being more professional and empathetic to your clients needs. Maybe I'm taking her attitude a bit personal but be more understanding with your clients. A lot of your clients are coming in with months or years of being in pain. That last thing you want is your care provider to be so uninterested in making you feel better. read more

I feel morally obligated to warn others about my experience with The Joint Chiropractic, especially at the El Cerrito location. While the front desk staff may be polite, the business practices behind this franchise are unethical and predatory. I originally signed up at the San Rafael location in November 2024. In February 2025, I sent a formal cancellation letter via certified mail and email, fulfilling all requirements to end my membership. I never received a confirmation. Then, without my knowledge or consent, my membership was transferred to the El Cerrito location after the San Rafael clinic closed -- and the monthly charges restarted in April 2025, even though I had clearly cancelled. I only discovered this months later when charges appeared on my account again. I contacted the El Cerrito clinic on June 23, and they allowed me to cancel via email (finally acknowledging that in-person cancellation is now outdated under California law). However, they told me I had to contact corporate for a refund -- and surprise, corporate has gone silent. So now I'm left fighting $267 in unauthorized charges for a service I explicitly cancelled -- and for a location I never agreed to transfer to or even visited. The Joint's cancellation policies are designed to trap customers into recurring charges. They: Require in-person cancellation (until very recently), violating California's Automatic Renewal Law Transfer memberships without permission Fail to respond to formal cancellation letters Ignore refund requests If you value transparency, autonomy, and respect as a consumer -- look elsewhere. The Joint Chiropractic operates like a subscription trap disguised as a wellness clinic. I will be filing complaints with the California Attorney General and the FTC, and disputing the charges with my credit card provider. Avoid this place at all costs. My first time visiting The Joint. The check in process was easy and the receptionist was nice and helpful. My initial visit was $29. The Chiropractor asked a few questions regarding my pain areas and then began my adjustment. The total time was approximately 10 minutes. Didn't feel any noticeable differences after but she said getting adjustments, is like going to the gym. The more you go, the better you'll feel. The doctor was polite and gentle. She was a little more reserved and quiet which I didn't mind and actually liked because I felt very calm and comfortable. I decided to sign up for the adult membership which is $89 a month and you can walk in and get as many adjustments you may need. I also love that they accept Payments such as Flexible spending accounts and Health Savings account! Definitely looking forward to coming here and establishing my care! read more

I have been waiting for this place to open for a long time. So long, that I was afraid that I was being a bit stalkery, since they were supposed to open last summer, then in Nov, and thank goodness, they opened Feb 28th. Yes, they had one in Berkeley and Pinole, but no one from here drives to Pinole after 1:30 - 2 pm - FACTS! Also, the Berkeley location on San Pablo, yes, up near UCB, not on my life. So there was that, I didn't know if I could join then and then attend in El Cerrito. So, I went on the opening day and signed up and got my back cracked!!! My neck too. It didn't feel good, never does, but afterwards - whoa! The relief of tension that I hold on to is such a presence, that I don't realize it's there until it's released! As someone who had her last adjustment before the pandemic, it was a relief to bring my triple vaxxed self there and get treatment. There was an issue with signing up, the tablet had to be restarted, but that's just tech. I was relieved because I thought that I would've had to wait hours to get in, but I was seen in about 1/2 hour. I got my first adjustment and was fine. I was seen by a woman (sorry, I didn't get her name) and she said that I should come back on Friday. However, on Thursday, my pack (my previous chiropractor's word for my tension in my shoulder that lives with me) decided to rebel and I couldn't move my left arm and it greatly restricted how I did things. My second look see was on Friday and I came a day early. Not a problem since it is drop in. Well, I saw Dr. Carlos and he treated me and I had more movement with less pain. Friday morning, I woke up to much more movement and little pain. So, bottom line, I'm glad I joined and am trying to talk the hubs into doing it with me. I will be going twice a week for the next two weeks and get back on the road to wellness. This office used to have good doctors but now they can't seem to keep it staffed. The office is frequently closed. They also stole hundreds of dollars from my health savings account. Back in January I told them I wanted to cancel the membership because the office was often closed and I wasn't getting a good adjustment from the current doctor on staff. I was told the membership was closed so I did not go back. I went back in July only to find out they have been drawing the money out of my health savings account the entire time. I cannot get anyone to get back to me about the matter and so I am now out hundreds of dollars for a service I didn't get. I get no response from the email address for the manager that I was given or from any of the corporate email addresses and no phone response. This place is an unprofessional nightmare. read more

This is pretty much for Dr. Carlos. He is the star of this location. He is super helpful and one of the few that actually reads the notes and provides progressive care. I like that he's welcoming and is there to help. Theres limited privacy here so I can always hear his interactions with other clients while I wait and he's so thoughtful and patient. Anyway, thumbs up. In general this spot is super convenient and I purchase the 4x monthly plan so it's a really good deal for consistent adjustments. When singing up they don't tell you that they can't take my cancelation on phone, They want as come in and do in person. They say it's happa law they can't cancel it. I have to come in to cancel. I called 3 time left message to cancel and left message for them to call me back they never called me back at all. Left message in December 2024 and in January. 1. Overall feeling was I was being hustled into an aggressive treatment plan (3 x the first week?) 2. I specifically asked that doc did not use the little metal tool vs manual manipulation. The first thing the doctor did was pulled out the tool I told the front desk I didn't a chiropractor who was going to use that tool. There was zero communication between front office and doctor. 3. Lastly, I was asked to fill out an iPad questionnaire on an iPad that was not set up correctly and wasted my time and aggravated me. Just print out the pages you want filled out and I'll jot down the information you wanted. 4. I want to say the chiropractor himself was fine but I've been to many chiropractors. There was no need to push a schedule on me. If you treat me right I'll come back all by myself. Should you get a new front office staff I would come back but not with current office staffing. Other than convenience, I've absolutely loved my experiences here far more than at The Joint in Berkeley. Up until going to this location, I was actually going to discontinue my program with The Joint because I felt I wasn't getting what I needed. I'm so glad I didn't! I want to sing the praises of Dr. Hector for just a moment. He has been the single-handed reason I stuck with The Joint and he's really the best chiropractor I've ever had. I have been in desperate need for a thorough visit. I'm not sure if the Dr. I saw was new or nervous because I'm pregnant, but I only got my mid back and neck cracked in one side. I don't feel like I got a thorough adjustment and when I came home I was still able to crack my own lower back meaning there was still some fluid build up. Although the visits are quick, I felt like it was a waste of money. I would skip this location next time and save my money to go towards a Thai massage instead. read more

What a joke this business is. If you want Chiropractic care go to a real office where they treat you right. The Joint is a drive through that always perform below the mark. They never seem to get it right and each chiropractor is so different you never get what need. It was a total waste of money and would have been better spent on a groupon chiropractor. Also they have a hand written note to wear mask on door but I walked in and the lady at the desk doesn't have it on and then the other day their were 4 pt ( 2 in back, mother with son and 2 in the front office not wearing it.) ALL medical offices are to required mask per CCC health orders. Makes me wonder if they are wiping down the table bc as soon as one leave they say you can go back and it doesn't seem like it's being clean. Doctor Carlos is super professional, explained everything he was doing in detail. He had such a great bedside manner and really helped me get some major relief in doing this one move where he pulled on my head. A lot of chiropractors usually skip that movement on me, but since I wasn't adjusting easily Dr. Carlos did everything he could to get me feeling better. read more
