After spending quite a bit of money by seeing my previous chiropractor (for roughly 2 months), I had one of two options for my herniated disc/sciatic nerve pain; one was continuing to do business with them by paying $55/weekly which was just over $200/month. Or the more cost-effective route was jumping ship to a whole new chiropractor. After researching both independent and well-known chiropractor offices in the greater Sacramento area, I finally settled with "The Joint Chiropractic" in Citrus Heights. Located directly on the corner of Madison Ave/Sunrise Blvd in Citrus Heights, this location has been around since 2017. Many of you already know this but The Joint is a nationwide business and (as of mid-2026), they have over 500 locations across the United States. This can definitely have its ups and downs including available timeslots, reputable/reliable staff, and the interpersonal care with the customers. The primary reason why I signed up was definitely the price as they were offering a $29 new patient special as this included the consultation, exam, and adjustment. However, signing up with that $29 price means that you are obligated to purchase a specific plan for a future visit. Since I was already going 3-4 times a month to my previous chiropractor, I opted for the "Wellness Plan" which costs $89/month for up to 4 visits. I ended up coming here during the morning of Saturday 5/23/2026 at around 10:15am. Since I had scheduled my appointment online for 10:30am (which was initially a walk-in appointment and adjustment), I had no idea how long this was going to take. After checking in and filling out my new patient registration form (through an iPad), I waited in the lobby until I was told by the receptionist that I would be up next. Total time from when I walked in until I was seen was about 30 minutes; not too bad for a Saturday morning. What is quite intriguing and could possibly draw people away is that you can see every patient getting their adjustments. No curtain, no drape, just an open layout which I found to be quite perplexing. I don't know if all locations are like this but my guess is that quite a few new patients might be caught off guard. Once it was my turn to get adjusted, I was seen by the chiropractor, Dr. Robert Jaeger. He had me do a variety of stretches and when it was time for me to get adjusted, he worked my lower back, lower legs, and neck area. He also asked me quite a few questions regarding the types of pains I have experienced. Once he was able to make the right adjustments, I felt quite relieved that he had done an above average job. Once my exam was completed, Dr. Jaeger gave me a rundown of how often I should be going back, in this case several times a month and as I mentioned in the 2nd paragraph, I went with the 4 visits a month for $89. Otherwise, you can pay for one visit for $55 or a 6-visit package (that you can use anytime) for $209. It really comes down to how often your body needs to get adjusted. With that said and done, I am giving "The Joint Chiropractic" in Citrus Heights a respectful four stars. My advice is to come during the less busier times as this would prevent long wait times before you are seen. I also wanted to point out that their hours are quite generous as they are open 6 days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10am-7pm while they are out to lunch from 2-2:45pm. However, if you go a few miles down Sunrise to their Gold River location, they are also open on Sunday. All in all, this place is getting the job done and at half the price what I was paying before. This is a typical "The Joint" location. It is a very basic place to get adjusted. Nothing special. It's easy to get in and out of most days, but the service you receive is just okay and rushed. You get what you pay for with this type of place. I would not recommend going here unless you already know what the problem is and know that you need something they can handle. Otherwise; you will get service regardless if you need it or not and if it makes things worse it's on you. This place does not help you figure out what is going on, they just do what they do regardless. They are the type of place I think of when people say "If you're a hammer, every problem is treated as a nail" If you have a pain of whatever sort, it will be treated with an adjustment regardless of what is actually needed. read more

Update: No, I'll never go to your establishment again. Your chiropractor and his receptionist have catastrophic customer service skills. Your chiropractor actually made my injury worse and wouldn't even attempt to make it better with a new customer, he instead attempted to sell more packages. And no, I will not email your establishment, because I ALREADY HAVE. I received no response, so don't try to make it seem like you're NOW trying to repair the situation - you've had MONTHS to call or email me back and you never did! I'm unsure about other locations, but with this location, when you get adjusted, there are NO private rooms, there is only ONE BIG ROOM, so if during the adjustment, your pants kinda fall down, or your shirt rides up, other people in the room will see, because everyone can just look over and see everything that is being done to you! Do NOT go here. They do NOT care about their patients, they only want to sell packages and get you out as fast as you can. By the way, if you have insurance, they will not bill your insurance, so this will not go towards your out of pocket maximum, unlike a real chiropractor, who does indeed bill your insurance to assist in increasing your out of pocket maximum so you can not have to may further cost share in the future. The Joint is a horrible place. Go to a real chiropractor where they actually care about your privacy, health, and concerns. In conclusion: **I've already messaged The Joint and addressed my concerns, I left my contact details, and they never responded, until now, when they responded with that fake response, attempting to finally seem professional. **They will not bill your insurance - even though it is cheap here you will not receive your out of pocket maximum (OOPM) benefits, which allocate on a counter which assists you later in the year in paying NO cost share. This place is cheap, because they aren't real chiropractors - practically the McDonald's of Chiropractic Work **You have ZERO PRIVACY when getting adjusted, so just imagine many, many eyes on you as you get adjusted! There are no screens to block everyone from seeing your a**crack or the top of your bosom when they turn you over on that bench **The Chiropractor in the picture is the "Director Chiropractor" and he literally is the most unprofessional person I have ever met, maybe he had a bad day? So what, if you're a professional, you knock your pride to the back and apologize, and keep it moving. He had too much pride to admit he f**cked up, and instead, his only response to my immediate complaint was "u said u been to a chiropractor before" which is an absolutely unacceptable response. It is cheap, but just know you are absolutely NOT getting the best care here. After this incident, I began to go to Silveria Chiropractic, and after a few sessions, my injuries were cleared up. this place would be a lot better if there were more doctors, the wait times are ridiculous with there only being one doctor. Paying for a membership, to sit in a lobby and walk out most days because the wait is an hour to an hour and a half to be seen when there's only four people there. New patients should have an allotted time to come in, when others are waiting there for hours. I got there at 12:45 and still wasn't seen by the time they left for lunch at 2, if you ask me, that's ridiculous. There's no real order in line, I had two people come in after me be seen before me, again ridiculous. I went to get my back Adjusted. He was unable to adjust my back, I am now in more pain than I was before I went into the office. This is the 2nd time I've been to this office the 1st time It helped me back but while we were in there 3 people came in and canceled their memberships that should have thrown a red flag there. I talked to the manager and asked her for full refund she tried telling me that I got a full adjustment which I didn't. She asked me to give her 48 hours it's well past 48 hours haven't heard nothing from her. So she could look into me getting a refund I will be calling my bank to dispute the charges. I visited this location today for an adjustment, hoping it would improve the back spasms I have been having for the last week. I was surprised by the amount of clients there on a Thursday at noon and almost left to take my chances at a different location since I was a bit crunched for time. I'm not sure if it was unusually busy or if that wait time was typical, but after seeing Dr. Jaeger work, I wouldn't be surprised if the latter was true. He was efficient and friendly, unfazed by the growing queue and seemed to have good rapport with returning patients. Although I only reported my current concern about my back spasms, his expertise was apparent during his evaluation as he quickly spotted other chronic issues that I didn't bother to share and also offered helpful recommendations. My past experience at another location felt very generic and impersonal and I haven't returned since, but Dr. Jaeger and the front desk staff left me pleasantly surprised. Inconsistent service, and incorrect record keeping. Highly recommend you keep an eye on the paperwork. Was told I could switch to a lower service plan, but when I reached out later to fully cancel was told I had 2 more months I needed to pay. I had not used the service in over a month, & I was never told the new plan had a time requirement. Some of the doctors here were good and helpful, but none documented my symptoms or concerns correctly, and some made my pain worse after an adjustment rather than better. Dr J and the front desk girls are AMAZING!!! From the minute you walk in, to the minute you walk out of the door, they make you feel like family. It was near impossible to get ANY movement on my lower back. I've gone through several chiros and nothing improved. Came to Dr J because of the convenience of the location, and I am so glad I did! It was a slow steady process, but I can finally say I'm having more movement in my lower back. Each visit it gets better. Dr J is very informative and shows you how to stretch certain areas that are bothering you. You can tell he truly cares about making you feel better and not solving the problem for that quick second, but for a solution for forever. 100% recommend!! read more

Deon Jenkins was completely inappropriate and needs to remain professional! My partner and I came in for an adjustment and asked if we needed to take off our sweaters for him to palpate. He said that we didn't need to. My partner disclosed that she has breast implants prior to her adjustment and when I was done with my adjustment, he jokingly said to my partner, "I thought the sweater was coming off." Cool whatever. Then when my partner further explained that her posture is bad due to her breasts and that she doesn't like to walk around with her "breasts out," he continued to make inappropriate comments such as "Isn't that why you got them?" Well, this is not a post I really care to write, but after my visit today to The Joint on Madison and Sunrise I have to say this is not a chiropractor I would recommend. Why? Today (04/11/2020), I was asked to leave because I had my Service Dog with me. Yes. Seriously. My trained Service and Therapy dog is well behaved (Canine Good Citizen certified), was in my complete control, is housebroken, was causing no issues what so every. And to boot? There was NO ONE in the waiting room? The reason? The chiropractor said 'someone could come in and not like dogs'. Yes, I am completely serious. While I am not sue happy or anything like that, I do my best to educate people on Service and Therapy dogs. So I took my dog to the car and came back with an information pamphlet that explained the ADA laws, etc. and kindly handed it to the doctor who reiterated that he didn't want my dog in his practice. Dr. Evans was thorough and great with his technique and adjustment as we also chatted about the fact that I was quoted over $5000 for an adjustment at a place up the street. I'd love to rate this place higher as I feel that the monthly membership is a good price for what you're supposed to get. Unfortunately, you can't actually get what you are supposed to get. You're supposed to be able to go to any of their locations to get your weekly adjustment, but the location that I planned on using regularly (Citrus Heights) has either been closed or unable to service me due to having no doctor on staff. Now I have to decide whether to fight the Sunrise traffic down and back during rush hour to go to the Rancho Cordova location, or hop on the 80 to Rocklin and fight that traffic. This was my first experience being adjusted and the staff was helpful through the whole process. I felt immediate relief in my neck and back and it truly helped me recover after a sports injury. The membership program is great and it couldn't be easier, unfortunately I wasn't able to use it as much due to my schedule so I pay per adjustment now. I'm deeply dissatisfied with how I was lead to believe I was going to get more services than I actually did. I paid for 2 months, which I understood to be 4 visits a month and was given 3 free appointment cards. It was not made clear to me that my visits stopped on the 22nd. I thought they went til the end of the month. I was 3 days late and after sitting and waiting for 30 minutes to see the Dr. I'm told I have to pay 39 dollars. That is b.s. I'm not going to pay an extra 39 dollars because I was 3 days late! They did not make it clear to me that the 3 free appointment cards had to be used in the first month. Dr. Evans is a fantastic doctor and good at what he does. He gives you his complete attention which is great, but I'm not going to pay an extra 39 dollars for 2 minutes on the chiropractic table after I paid for 2 months of service. I have been a member of The Joint Chiropractic for years. I have been to dozens of different chiropractors over the years inside and outside of The Joint Chiropractic. Dr Deon Jenkins is one of the best and I always go out of my way to see him. Do yourself a favor and set up regular visits to the chiropractor. It is a better to prevent problems then fix them. I'm a general contractor, in my golden years, that has ridden motorcycles for over forty years. After making contact with a deer about 20 years ago and breaking my shoulder and collar bone. I used Chiropractic care to heal my body. I would be a wheel chair pilot if not for some talented doctors. Now I'm happy to say it is "just for maintenance." read more

I appreciate that.however they need to keep better track of who is in place in line...I had been waiting for 15 mins and when my turn came, a woman who had just come in (she was wearing underwear which was a sight to see) demanded that she was in front of me. The gentleman doctor just looked around confused so I told the woman I was there first, and that I was next. she gave me an ugly sneer like I was lying, & she goes up to the front to ask the front desk gal if she was after the gentleman who just walked out...to which the front desk lady said yes...which was wrong. I don't think the front desk woman even checked her place in line and just guessed. The woman caused a huge scene- I had to go up to the front to let the front desk lady know I was actually next to which she replies 'oh I'm not sure who's next.' What?! I had to remind her my place in line before she realized yes, I was next. I am so grateful I found this chiropractor office! I was in a car accident a few years ago and my neck has been constantly sore or stiff since. Some days I am unable to turn my neck at all. Dr. Evans, is amazing, and has been adjusting my neck for 3 months, and after the first few sessions I started to feel so much relief!! I really thought I would have to just deal with constantly icing my neck and with the stiffness but in the last couple weeks my neck feels back to normal!
